Instantly, her body reacted, and the infamous "Widow’s curse" that has been the talk of the town for years was finally for everyone to see.

Song yan felt like she swallowed a jagged glass and hot coals. Black veins visibly pulsed along her pale neck, and she coughed, a few drops of dark blood spilling from her beautiful lips. But she didn’t fall.

The bandit leader lunged forward, bringing the heavy broadsword down in a brutal, overhead cleave aimed right at her collarbone.

The air whistled as the Mid-Spirit Realm Qi coated the rusty blade, creating a heavy, oppressive vacuum.
