Chapter 238: Courting Death? Even My Crippled Widow Can Butcher You Trash (Part - 2)

Song Yan bit her tongue, using the sharp pain to keep her focus.

"Falling Petal Steps," Song Yan softly whispered.

This was a movement technique of the Song Clan, and despite her weakened state, her footwork was exquisite.

She twirled on her heel, and her body blurring just a fraction of an inch out of the weapon’s path.

The heavy broadsword missed Song Yan by a hair’s breath as it slammed into the dirt, sending a shockwave of gravel into the air.

"Hmmm," The bandit leader frowned as he looked up at Song Yan.

But before he could recover his stance, Song Yan movaed again, and stepped closer to him. With a graceful motion, she brought her iron sword up in a sharp, diagonal slash.

SHLUCK!

The blade sliced cleanly through the unarmored gaps of his leather bracers, severing the tendons in both of his wrists.

The bandit’s eyes bulged in shock as his broadsword slipped from his bleeding hands.

But Song Yan wasn’t done. Using the momentum of her slash, she twisted her wrist and drove the iron blade directly upward, straight into the soft flesh under his jaw.

The blade pierced his throat, severing his vocal cords and shattering the base of his skull before poking out slightly from the top of his head.

Hot, sticky blood erupted like a geyser, spraying all over Song Yan’s pale face and elegant silk dress.

The man gurgled a horrific, wet sound, choking on his own blood.

As Song Yan ruthlessly yanked the blade out, chunks of neck tissue and esophageal cartilage tore away with it. He collapsed into the mud, twitching violently as a pool of crimson rapidly expanded around his head.

"Bao Zitou!" the remaining two bandits screamed in absolute horror.

"Oh, she got blood on her dress," Bai Bing commented lazily, completely unfazed by the gore as she traced circles on Gu Fan’s chest. "She fights with such desperation. Zero elegance. Don’t you agree, husband?"

"Desperation breeds results, my sweet fairy," Gu Fan chuckled, as he pinched her waist softly, "Did you forget how we met? You were fighting desperately as well."

"Hmmph! That was different," Bai Bing looked away acting angry that Gu Fan made her remember that embarrassing day.

"Don’t be angry," Gu Fan smiled as he kissed her softly on the hair, "Wasn’t it a good thing? How else would we have met?"

"That it was." Hearing him, bai Bing was all smiles suddenly as she turned towards him and kissed him on the cheeks, "Best day of my life."

Meanwhile, seeing their boss get butchered so effortlessly, the remaining two bandits snapped out of their shock.

Brainless rage replaced their lust.

The second rogue, wielding a massive, jagged battle-axe, and the third, dual-wielding curved daggers, charged her simultaneously from opposite sides.

And despite not doing much, Song Yan was already panting heavily.

That single exchange had cost her dearly.

The dark Qi of her curse was ravaging her internal organs, making every breath feel like inhaling fire. Her vision blurred at the edges.

The axe-wielder swung horizontally, aiming to cut her entirely in half. Song Yan raised her iron sword to parry, pushing every ounce of her Spirit Qi into the blade to reinforce it.

CLANG!

The sheer kinetic force of the heavy axe colliding with her sword sent a horrific tremor up her arms.

Song Yan felt the bones in her wrists shake under the strain. The iron sword groaned, a web of cracks appearing down its center.

The impact threw her off balance, forcing her to stumble backward.

Sensing the opening, the third rogue with the daggers lunged from her blind spot, aiming a lethal thrust right at her kidneys.

"Aunt Yan! Behind you!" Tianyu screamed as he watched helplessly.

Song Yan’s heart cold-dropped. Her legs were locked, her sword was trembling, and her meridians screamed in agony. She couldn’t move in time.

However, Gu Fan was watching. And he certainly wasn’t about to let a filthy bandit ruin his newly acquired toy before he even got to fully enjoy her.

With Bai Bing still snuggled comfortably against his chest, Gu Fan raised his left foot and flicked his toe lazily against a small, rough pebble sitting in the mud.

BOOM!

A miniature sonic boom cracked through the air as Gu Fan’s condensed Qi instantly infused the tiny stone. It shot across the dirt path like a high-caliber bullet, tearing through the air with terrifying velocity.

THWACK-CRACK!

And before the dagger-wielding rogue could bring his blades down, the pebble struck him directly in his right shoulder with the force of a battering ram.

The force was absurdly immense, and the stone tore straight through his flesh, completely pulverizing his collarbone and shoulder socket into a fine, bloody powder.

A brutal spray of bone fragments and thick arterial blood erupted from the cultivator’s back as the pebble exited his body.

"Aggggh!" The man shrieked in unimaginable agony, and his right arm went completely limp, dangling by mere threads of muscle, and one of his twin curved daggers slipped from his deadened grip, tumbling through the air.

Song Yan saw the falling curved dagger plummet toward the mud, and her hand snapped out, snatching the hilt straight out of mid-air.

The massive axe-wielder, stunned by his comrade’s sudden, horrific shrieking, hesitated for a split second. And that fraction of a second was all that she needed.

With blood pouring down her face and her lungs burning, Song Yan dropped flat onto her stomach, sliding forward through the slick, blood-soaked mud directly beneath the axe-wielder’s legs.

She slashed the curved dagger upward with all her remaining strength, ripping a massive, gaping horizontal chasm across the rogue’s exposed abdomen.

RIP-SQUELCH!

The bandit hit the ground behind her. A sickening, wet slop sounded as his abdominal wall collapsed, and thick, greyish-pink coils of intestines spilled out from his shredded stomach, flopping onto the dirt path like squirming worms.

The man dropped his axe, screaming in unimaginable agony as he desperately tried to shove his slippery, steaming organs back into his open belly.

Song Yan slowly pushed herself up from the mud.

She was panting violently, her chest heaving, drenched from head to toe in blood and dirt.

Her eyes were devoid of mercy. She walked over to the screaming, disemboweled man, raised the bloodied dagger high, and drove it straight through the back of his neck, severing his spinal cord with a heavy crunch.

The screaming instantly ceased.

But Song Yan wasn’t finished.

She pulled the dagger from the dead man’s neck and turned her cold, dead eyes toward the third rogue.

The dagger-wielder was crawling desperately through the mud with his one good arm, sobbing hysterically and leaving a thick trail of blood from his shattered shoulder.

Song Yan walked up behind him. Without a single word, she grabbed a handful of his greasy hair, yanked his head back to expose his neck, and ruthlessly dragged the curved blade across his throat.

Hot blood sprayed over her hands as she dropped his twitching body into the dirt.

Clap! Clap!

The absolute second the final bandit died, Gu Fan smiled broadly, genuinely entertained. He began to slowly clap his hands as he stepped over the puddles of blood, dragging a thoroughly bored Bai Bing along with him. 𝒻𝘳ℯℯ𝑤ℯ𝒷𝘯ℴ𝓋ℯ𝘭.𝑐ℴ𝑚

"Not bad, Song Yan. Brutal and efficient," Gu Fan praised smoothly. He pulled a pristine silk handkerchief from his spatial ring, reached out, and gently wiped a streak of warm, sticky blood from her pale cheek.

"Though I had to create a little opening for you at the end."

"I couldn’t let a dirty swine put a hole in such a beautiful body before I have had my turn with it."

Song Yan stared at him, her chest heaving, trembling from the sheer exertion and the agonizing pain ravaging her meridians.

She looked at the dead men around her, then at Gu Fan’s dark, amused eyes.

But she said nothing.

"Good. Now one last thing before we get going," Gu Fan grinned with a sheepish smile on his face.

"The dead has no need for all this wealth."
