If you had, you would have realized that what just happened wasn’t a dream and it would have hurt just the same.

"I’m back... I just came back. It feels like I went to a very strange place," Ye Shiyuan said.

Bai He furrowed her brow.

Their performance was convincing, neither of them suspected anything.

"Where did Master go?"

Ye Shiyuan actually asked him that question.

"Ah... well, I don’t quite remember. How about you?"

Ye Shiyuan pressed his lips together, his expression evasive. He didn’t even dare meet Bai He’s eyes. "Master... I saw you."

"Me?"

"Yes... but Master has changed a lot."

Bai He tugged at the corner of his mouth.

Ye Shiyuan actually said that out loud?

Didn’t he know the meaning of shame?

How could he not understand the word at all?

However, Bai He didn’t even ask further.

"Changed? How have Master changed?"

Xu Feng, on the other hand, looked curious and questioned him.

"Shut up!" Bai He snapped in embarrassment and anger.

Xu Feng and Ye Shiyuan exchanged strange glances. "Master, why tell us to shut up? Is there something we’re not allowed to know? And Senior Brother Ye Shiyuan hasn’t even explained yet. Do you know what he wants to say?"

Bai He hurriedly tried to cover up his flustered state. "I said shut up, so shut up. There’s no need for all that talk."

A faint smile appeared on Ye Shiyuan’s lips. "Master... you really are different from the Master I saw."

Bai He felt a twinge of embarrassment.

What Ye Shiyuan meant was probably the version of himself from the illusion he had created in the mirror.

Indeed, that version of Bai He, with his gentle smile was unlike the real him.

But... it wasn’t impossible for him to smile that way if he wanted to.

Ahead of them, a box suddenly appeared.

Bai He stepped forward and intending to open it, but Ye Shiyuan intercepted him and used the sword in his hand to lift the lid of the box directly.

It had to be admitted, Ye Shiyuan was indeed an extremely careful and meticulous person.

Inside the box, there was nothing but a single key.

Just as Bai He had anticipated.

When he inserted the key into the keyhole, it’s immediately transform the space ahead into a massive gate.

As soon as the key turned, the gate swung open...

"The next area should be the fourth trial. Let’s head straight there," Bai He suggested.

Since this time they hadn’t overexerted themselves, the others agreed.

The three of them stepped through the gate.

When they turned back to look, the gate had already disappeared as if it had never existed at all.

It was hard not to marvel at how strange this place truly was.

It was unbearably hot...

The fourth trial is the Flamming Mountain that was stretched before them.

They stood on the edge of a sheer cliff.

When they look down, they could see the boiling flames that was constantly churning and rolling below.

Bai He accidentally tossed a small stone into the fire.

In an instant, it was consumed entirely.

That was how high the temperature was.

Getting too close would be catastrophic; they would probably turn to ashes immediately.

Fearful of falling in, Bai He quickly retreated several steps, his heart beats fast.

Across the Flamming Mountain lay the key to passing this trial, but there was no safe way to get there.

Ye Shiyuan attempted to fly across using his own power, but it was futile; he returned to the original spot while shaking his head.

"It seems we’ll have to figure out another way to get across," he said to Xu Feng.

"How is that possible?" Xu Feng found it unbelievable.

They were merely ordinary mortals, trying to cross here would be nothing short of suicide.

Both he and Ye Shiyuan understood the danger.

This area was impassable and yet, frustratingly, it was the only way forward.

Suddenly, the roiling lava began to stir and something was emerging from within.

With a deafening boom, a dragon shot out from the molten sea.

It wasn’t a real dragon.

Its entire body was molten rock and constantly blazing as it lunged toward them.

Bai He who is clad in armor had temporary protection, but Ye Shiyuan firmly grabbed him and swiftly pulled him out of harm’s way.

Xu Feng facing this level of threat could also defend himself without issue.

The flame dragon instantly reverted to ordinary molten lava and sinking back into the lava sea and vanishing from sight.

The three of them landed safely on solid ground and staring at the now-calm lava.

Could it really be over?

Their assumption was quickly proven wrong.

The lava churned violently once more and another dragon shot forth.

Ye Shiyuan again wrapped his arms around Bai He’s waist and swiftly dodging the fiery attack.

The dragon sank back into the molten sea just as quickly and disappearing again.

Yet this time, they could sense that the dragon moved faster than before.

The third one was even quicker...

The only difference was that the speed was faster than the previous time.

Xu Feng roared, "Endless, huh? If you have the guts, come out and fight me!"

"Xiao Feng, are you crazy?" Ye Shiyuan said urgently. "It’s obvious that this isn’t a real dragon. It’s just the lava taking the shape of a dragon. Every time it attacks, it moves faster than before. If we can’t find a better method, sooner or later, this dragon will attack us and we won’t be able to escape."

Xu Feng’s expression grew serious.

It wasn’t for any other reason, just the lava here was terrifying.

If they were hit, all of them would likely die right here today.

No one wanted to joke around with something this dangerous.

Ye Shiyuan furrowed his brow. "Xu Feng, you stay with Master. The next time it comes out, I’ll try confronting it head-on."

"No, Senior Brother, that’s way too dangerous."

"Even if it’s not allowed, I’ll do it anyway."
