Chapter 1486: Chapter 1476: The Person Is Missing

Mu Yan and Kong Lizhen walked out of the warehouse and saw Zhuang Zeyang waiting by the roadside.

Mu Yan was somewhat surprised, "Uncle, why are you here?"

She glanced at Kong Lizhen, who didn’t seem surprised at all, vaguely understanding something.

Kong Lizhen stepped forward and said, "Minister Zhuang, thank you for your help."

Zhuang Zeyang frowned and said, "Ah Ning, I am your elder brother."

Kong Lizhen’s lips twitched slightly, but she didn’t say anything.

Mu Yan felt the atmosphere between the two was somewhat subtle, but as a junior, there were some matters she shouldn’t inquire about.

"Let’s go, I’ll take you home." Zhuang Zeyang suddenly said.

Mu Yan immediately responded, "Uncle, can you help me find out which hospital the injured man, who went with the police, was taken to? I need to go there."

Zhuang Zeyang asked, "Do you know that person?"

"Yes." Mu Yan nodded and hesitated for a moment before saying, "Also, he got injured saving my mom."

Kong Lizhen glanced at Mu Yan and said, "Please take us to the hospital."

Seeing her say this, Zhuang Zeyang didn’t say anything and nodded, "Let’s go."

Along the way, Mu Yan’s heart was in knots, she was acutely aware of how much blood he had lost earlier. She just didn’t know where the bullet had hit, hoping it hadn’t hit anything vital.

About forty minutes later, the car arrived at the hospital, and Mu Yan rushed inside as soon as she got out of the car.

People in the corridor made way for her, watching the running figure, somehow feeling a sense of familiarity, as if they had seen her somewhere before.

At the nurse station, Mu Yan asked the nurse on duty if anyone had been brought in with a gunshot wound.

The nurse glanced at her, a hint of surprise flickering in her eyes, and stammered, "Yes, are you Mu Yan?"

"Where is he now?" Mu Yan asked in a deep voice.

"He’s in the emergency room." The nurse pointed to the right.

"Great, thank you." Mu Yan said and ran toward the emergency room.

The nurse watched her back, muttering about how she looked so much like Mu Yan.

Mu Yan ran to the outside of the emergency room, where a few policemen were standing at the door. She stepped forward and asked, "Officer, is the person you brought in okay?"

The policeman glanced at her and said indifferently, "Still inside."

"Alright, thank you." Mu Yan expressed her thanks and stood aside.

Shortly after, Zhuang Zeyang and Kong Lizhen arrived, waiting outside for news together.

Seeing her daughter’s face look unwell, with worry etched across her brow, Kong Lizhen comforted her, saying, "Yanyan, don’t worry, he’ll be okay."

"Hmm." Mu Yan replied, but her tone was noticeably perfunctory.

Kong Lizhen couldn’t persuade her anymore, holding her cold hand, waiting with her.

About ten minutes later, the emergency room door opened, and Mu Yan stood up abruptly. Seeing the doctor come out, she immediately asked, "Doctor, how is he?"

The doctor glanced at her and said, "Pretty good, just needs to keep a light diet."

Wasn’t he shot? So much blood was lost at the time; could the situation be this good? Despite the doubt in Mu Yan’s heart, she felt more joy.

"Thank you, doctor. Can we go in to see him?"

The doctor looked at her oddly, then nodded, "You can."

He paused and said, "It’s merely enteritis, no need to be nervous."

Enteritis? Mu Yan felt inexplicably uneasy, intuitively sensing something was off.

At that moment, a figure walked out from the emergency room, that person said to the doctor, "Thank you, doctor."

Mu Yan looked at this unfamiliar man; he was clutching his stomach, his face pale, clearly uncomfortable.

So, was the doctor talking about him just now?

She turned to the doctor and said, "I meant another person, who was shot in the abdomen."

The doctor looked at her, surprised, "Hasn’t he gone to the restroom? He’s not back yet?"
