After all, Autumn Shelby was Seth Quinn’s ex-girlfriend, and she was still in love with him. It was only natural for her to feel upset seeing another woman being so affectionate with him. Clara could understand that.

She had just finished speaking when she turned and saw Cedric Grant approaching slowly with Jean Jarvis and Chloe Grant in tow.

Jean Jarvis was holding onto Cedric Grant’s right arm, while he held Chloe Grant’s hand with his left.

Clara Grant groaned internally. ’First the Shelby Family, now the Grant Family. None of them are easy to deal with.’

Seeing Clara’s exasperated expression, Seth Quinn glanced at the Grant trio with a raised eyebrow. He knew she wanted to see the Grant Family even less than the Shelby Family. He lowered his voice and said to her, "Why don’t you go sit down over there? I’ve got this."

’If Chloe Grant and Jean Jarvis want to cause trouble, they’ll find me even if I hide. Besides, I’m the host and they’re the guests. There’s no reason for a host to hide from her guests.’

In the time it took to speak, Cedric Grant’s party had already approached. Clara Grant glanced at them, then forced a smile to greet another guest who was passing by before finally turning her attention back to the family of three.

"Clara," Cedric Grant called out warmly, seeing Clara standing there and greeting guests as the lady of the Quinn household.

This was her father-in-law’s birthday banquet, so naturally, Clara Grant wasn’t going to start a conflict. She gave him a nod, a small gesture to save him some face.

Her agreeable attitude made Cedric Grant even happier. As if afraid that people didn’t know he was the father of the eldest daughter-in-law of the Quinn family, he raised his voice slightly and added:

"Clara, you look so beautiful today. Your father is truly proud to have a daughter like you. And remember, you’re the hostess today, you’re in charge since you’re the eldest daughter-in-law of the Quinn family. But don’t wear yourself out. Your father would worry, you know."

The moment he spoke, Clara Grant saw the two women flanking him become visibly displeased, their faces darkening instantly.

Although she was rendered speechless by Cedric Grant’s shamelessness, she was quite pleased to see the dark looks on Chloe Grant’s and Jean Jarvis’s faces.

So, she just gave Cedric Grant a faint smile and a nod.

Seeing this, Jean Jarvis’s mind raced. She immediately plastered on a smile and said to Clara, "That’s right, Clara. Even though Cedric and your mother are divorced, you can still call him Dad."

"But Chloe is your own sister, after all. Now that you’re in a position of power, you should remember to help your sister out."

Jean Jarvis’s words left Cedric Grant very satisfied. What he wanted to hide most was the fact that Clara Grant was not his biological daughter. By saying Chloe was Clara’s own sister, Jean was undoubtedly helping him cover that up.
