Chapter 791: Chapter 788: Couples Don’t Hold Grudges Overnight
Clara Grant was mortified. She quickly pulled away from Seth Quinn’s embrace, her face flushing a shy red.
This brief, tender moment was interrupted, and Seth Quinn was displeased. He frowned at Director Keane and demanded coldly, "What is it?"
"Ah, nothing, nothing at all. You two, c-carry on..." Liam Keane laughed awkwardly and turned to walk out.
Rhys Ryston snapped out of it and followed Director Keane out, leaving only Mason Holden standing there in a daze.
’What the—? President Quinn and Clara... isn’t this reversal a little too fast? Just a moment ago, the two of them were at each other’s throats. How did the ice thaw so quickly that they’re already hugging?’
Rhys Ryston took a couple of steps, then looked back and saw Mason Holden still standing there. He hurried back, grabbed him, and dragged him out.
"What was that all about?" Mason Holden finally came to his senses and muttered after they were outside the dressing room.
"I should be asking you what that was all about! Didn’t you say President Quinn and Clara were fighting?" Rhys Ryston, his face still etched with awkwardness, asked irritably.
"But they really were fighting before! You didn’t see how tense it was—the very air was freezing. Who knew, who knew that in just a few moments, it would turn into... that."
Director Keane chuckled and wagged a finger at Mason Holden. "You’re still too young. You haven’t been in love or gotten married, so you don’t understand that couples don’t hold grudges overnight—they argue at the head of the bed and make up by the foot of it.
"Especially a loving couple like President Quinn and Clara. Even when they fight, they make up in a flash. Remember that for next time, and don’t make such a big deal out of nothing."
"I bet Clara was the one who gave in to President Quinn first!" Mason Holden mumbled under his breath. Seeing Director Keane about to leave, he quickly asked, "So, Director Keane, what about changing the scene?"
"Why are you still bringing up changing the scene? Don’t you get it yet? Even though they’ve made up, you can forget about the kissing scene. There’s no way President Quinn will agree to it," Rhys Ryston said with a sigh, seeing he still hadn’t caught on.
Liam Keane stopped and thought for a moment. "Forget it," he said. "This film is meant to have a youthful, innocent vibe anyway. It’s perfectly normal for it not to have any passionate scenes or kissing scenes. Besides, using a hug to express the main characters’ feelings in this scene is also very reasonable. If we don’t need a kiss, then we won’t use one."
Since a director as strict as Director Keane had given his approval, there was no room for doubt, and Mason Holden didn’t press the issue. It was just a little disappointing that the first script change he had ever suggested for his first leading role had fizzled out just like that.
Director Keane glanced at him and added, "Of course, Mason, the fact that you’re able to suggest changes to the plot shows that you’ve studied the script very carefully and are taking this film seriously. That’s a very good thing. Keep it up."
With that, Director Keane turned and left.
Rhys Ryston glanced at Mason Holden and also left.
Mason Holden turned his head, looked at the closed dressing room door, shrugged, and then set off to catch up with them.
...
"What were you trying to say to me earlier?" Seth Quinn asked, turning to Clara Grant once the dressing room door was closed again.
"Oh, that..." As Clara Grant spoke, she glanced at the wall clock in the dressing room and gasped. "Ah, it’s nothing. You should go. We need to get them back in here for makeup. If we don’t hurry, we’ll run out of time."
"So we’ll be a little late. What does it matter?" Seth Quinn said dismissively. They had just made up, and he wanted to spend more time with her.
"No way. I don’t want to be the reason the whole schedule gets delayed," Clara Grant said, pushing Seth Quinn toward the door.
"Alright, alright, I’m leaving." Helpless, Seth Quinn pulled her into his arms and pressed a kiss to her lips. "I’ll get going, then."
"Okay, bye-bye."
Clara Grant thought Seth Quinn had gone back to the office, but when she finished with her makeup and arrived at the filming location, she was surprised to find he was still there.
