Upon hearing him, Rhys Ryston, ignoring their rather compromising position, immediately asked in a panic, "Where does it hurt? Where are you injured? Let me see."

Seeing a trace of anxiety and worry on her normally unflappable face, River Sterling felt a surge of pleasure. But his happiness was short-lived. When he saw her get off him to check his injuries, he was suddenly mortified.

"All right, in a situation like this, your only option is to go to the hospital and have a doctor remove the fragments," Seth Quinn said, carefully helping River Sterling to his feet. Even though he knew it wasn’t serious, he was still gentle.

"I can’t drive like this. So, who’s taking me to the hospital?" River Sterling’s gaze swept across the three faces before finally landing on Rhys Ryston.

"...Ah, Seth and I have something important to do today," Clara Grant said, exchanging a glance with Seth Quinn. "So, we can’t go with you."

With that, she turned to Rhys Ryston and said, "Ryston, I guess that means we’ll have to trouble you to take Brother Sterling to the hospital."

River Sterling silently gave her a mental thumbs-up for her quick reaction.

Even if Clara Grant hadn’t said it, Rhys Ryston knew it was her responsibility. After all, River Sterling had been injured saving her; she was obligated to take him to the hospital.

So, she looked at Clara Grant and replied, "It’s no trouble at all. It’s only right that I go with President Sterling."

With that, she turned to River Sterling. "Give me the car keys. I’ll go bring the car around."

River Sterling immediately pulled the car keys from his pocket and handed them to her. Rhys Ryston took the keys and went to get the car.

As soon as she was out of earshot, Clara Grant rushed to say to River Sterling, "Brother Sterling, I never believed it when people said you liked Ryston, but now I’m convinced!

That whole ’hero saving the damsel in distress’ act was so brave, Ryston has to be moved. You saw the way she looked at you just now, right? It was completely different from how she usually does."

River Sterling denied it with a look of disdain. "Who likes her? Who’ve you been listening to? That’s nonsense. In a situation like today, as a man, how could I just stand by and not help?"
