The spring breeze sweeps away the bitter cold of the harsh winter, all things revived, tender willows sprout, and the world is full of vibrancy.

The joyful news of the Yan Family welcoming twin sons spread like a refreshing breeze through the streets and alleys of Capital City, providing people with topics to discuss over their meals and tea.

As everyone knows, last year the eldest grandson of the Yan Family just had his wedding. Even though the ceremony was held quietly, there wasn’t a soul in the nation who wasn’t aware, nor was there anyone who didn’t know the bride.

Just seven or eight months have passed, and the child was born, a pair of twin girls, truly enviable.

For the full-month banquet of the two children, the Yan Family organized a grand event, inviting all notable people in Capital City. The family placed utmost importance, showing no disappointment because they were girls, granting their daughter-in-law and two granddaughters ample respect, which aroused envy and jealousy among many women.

At the Yan Family Old Residence, it was crowded with visitors and distinguished guests from early morning. Meng Shujing efficiently arranged the workforce, yet was still too busy to even take a sip of water.

“You two, go help in the front hall, prevent any disturbances, and make sure to immediately inform me of anything, understood?”

“Yes, Lady.”

“Go on.” Meng Shujing waved her hand, tiredly pinching the bridge of her nose.

“We should go invite the elder. It seems joy enhances one’s spirit, the elder has been quite energetic these past few days.” Meng Shujing spoke with a smile she couldn’t suppress, leading the group towards Rongju Courtyard.

“Sister-in-law.” At the entrance to Rongju Courtyard, a lady spoke softly.

Meng Shujing looked her up and down, smiled, and said, “Second sister-in-law, haven’t seen you for days, finally willing to come out?”

The lady was dressed in a Qipao with a white base and blue flowers, her figure slender, her demeanor refined like an orchid, standing quietly under a willow tree with tender sprouts. The willow swayed in the breeze, but the lady’s graceful brows and bones were even more exquisite than the willow.

Yi Suchen raised her hand, gently tucking the wind-blown hair behind her ear, and spoke softly, “Today is a joyous day, how could I avoid the guests? Let’s go, it’s time to invite the elder out.”

Meng Shujing smiled knowingly, and the two walked into Rongju Courtyard together.

The elder was already prepared, seated in a wheelchair waiting for someone to arrive, clad in a bright red Tang suit, full of vigor, eagerly looking towards the doorway.

Meng Shujing walked in with a smile, “Congratulations, Elder.”

The elder laughed heartily, “Quick, take me to meet my great-granddaughters.”

“Giving birth to two ‘losing money girls’, and still has the nerve to hold a grand event? If I were her, I’d have hidden away long ago.”

“Isn’t that right, no idea what kind of mind fogging broth this family was fed, to host such a grand event for two girl children, simply knowing no shame.”

Among the guests, a few middle-aged women spoke harshly, raising their voices lest others fail to hear.

Male and female guests were seated separately, all the women here today were notable figures, of high status and wealth, yet in front of the Yan Family, who wasn’t lowering their stance? However, there were those unafraid, or rather self-assumed wise.

The speaker, Lady Lin, is the newly appointed mayor’s wife, previously in impoverished areas, she hugged the leg of the Qin Family to get the opportunity to transfer to Capital City. She was blinded by the city’s opulence and flattery, arrogantly regarding herself as superior, even daring to dismiss the Yan Family.

Indeed, although the Yan Family has Yan Nanmo, they still fall short compared to Elder Qin; her own son married Elder Qin’s niece, after all.

And supporting her is Lady Yang, tightly hugging Lady Lin’s leg, of humble origins, shallow-eyed, speaking such words in the host’s house, truly unaware of the heights of heaven and depths of earth.

Among the female guests who heard these words, some secretly chuckled without responding, their gazes disdainful and mocking. Lady Lin assumed they agreed with her, proudly puffing her chest.

Yet there were those genuinely jealous, constrained by their status from speaking out; now someone dared express it aloud, somewhat venting their spite.

“Just two ‘losing money girls’, what’s there to be proud of?” Lady Lin indignantly cursed.

Recalling when she bore a daughter as her first child, she was berated as a ‘losing money girl’ by her mother-in-law, who demanded her son divorce her, didn’t visit during her confinement. Why does this woman, having borne two ‘losing money girls’, receive such favor from her husband’s family, having such a grand full-month banquet, more prideful than if she had a son, the more she thought, the more unjust she felt.

“Lady Lin calls others ‘losing money girls’, as if she herself isn’t one?” A sudden, disdainful voice echoed through every corner of the hall.
