It was as if she had a prolonged dream, weaving her past and present lives, flickering images of love and hate, and the struggles with destiny into her two lifetimes.

Yun Ya had a moment of bewilderment, as if she completely forgot what day it was.

Her right hand was tightly held, almost numb.

As Yun Ya gently moved her eyes, they instantly met a pair of eyes with pupils dilated in shock.

Before Yun Ya could speak, the man leaned over and hugged her tightly, the force causing her pain.

“Brother Yan…” Yun Ya opened her mouth, but tears rolled down first.

She had made it through, hadn’t she?

Heaven ultimately showed her kindness.

The sound of the man’s heavy breathing fell on her ears, warm and urgent, making Yun Ya’s ears flush with heat.

“Yun Ya, let’s never have children again, never again…” Only Heaven knows how he survived these past few days, feeling worse than death.

Yun Ya didn’t make a sound, her hands quietly encircled his waist, and she said with a smile, “Brother Yan, you’re hurting me.”

Yan Song hurriedly let go of her, asking worriedly, “Where does it hurt?”

Yun Ya pointed to her stomach, “The wound…”

Yan Song’s thin lips tightened, his gaze fell on Yun Ya’s stomach, raising his right palm to cover it, while Yun Ya shook her head with a smile, “I can bear this bit of pain.”

In fact, the pain would increase after the anesthesia wore off, but Yun Ya didn’t care much about that now, anxiously asking, “What about the children?”

Zhuang Xiyue and Yan Ke had already each brought one child over, pushing the poor Yan Song aside.

“Yun Ya, look at the two little girls, they look so much like you, especially the older one, those eyes of hers are just like yours,” Zhuang Xiyue said to Yun Ya, holding Yuanyuan.

Yun Ya reached out to hold her in her arms, holding the other child in her other arm, looking left and right, never getting enough of them. The two little ones stared with their big dark eyes, bewildered and curious at their mom.

The older one was quiet, the second lively, sucking her thumb and giggling, her little hand flailing and suddenly grabbing Yun Ya’s hair, stuffing it into her mouth. Zhuang Xiyue quickly stopped her, helpless yet dotingly saying, “This little girl can’t sit still for a moment, grabbing anything she can find and putting it in her mouth.”

Yun Ya shook her head and laughed, “Look how ladylike sister is, when she grows up, she’s sure to be a troublemaker.”

It was unclear whether Man Man understood or not, but she grinned.

Yan Ke said in amazement, “Sister-in-law, can you tell the two apart?” It was remarkable that Yun Ya could distinguish the sisters on her first sight after waking up.

Yun Ya’s gentle gaze never left the children’s faces, “I heard what you just said, the slightly slimmer one is Yuanyuan, the lively and robust one is Man Man, from their names you can tell who’s older and younger.”

At that moment Yun Ya suddenly lifted her eyes, looking at Yan Song standing outside, smiling tenderly, “Brother Yan, you haven’t looked at them yet.”

Yan Ke and Zhuang Xiyue cleverly made way, and Yan Song slowly walked over.

Yun Ya showed him the two children, “These are our children, do you like them?”

He had never anticipated their arrival because they almost cost him Yun Ya.

The joy of being a new father? Sorry, he felt none of it.

He only knew that because of these two little ones, he almost lost Yun Ya forever.

Now looking at the two little ones, Yan Song’s gaze was very complex.

Man Man cooed and waved her fingers, smiling so wide her eyes squinted into thin lines.

The two children changed day by day, shedding their newborn wrinkles, each becoming delicate and adorable, like little porcelain dolls.

Yun Ya understood him too well and wasn’t upset, just a bit helpless.

She handed Man Man to him, “She seems to like you a lot, hold her.”

Yan Song caught the baby off guard, a bit flustered, she was so small, like a little ball in his arms, so light it seemed weightless.

Yan Song looked down at the little baby.

Is this his daughter?

Man Man giggled, her tiny unopened fingers grabbing at the air, her bright black eyes darting around, adorable and full of life, clearly a clever child.

Suddenly, a complex emotion rose in Yan Song’s heart, he pressed his thin lips and gently patted the swaddling clothes.

Yun Ya burst out laughing, and Yan Song glared at her.

“Brother Yan, it’s the first time I’ve seen you hold a baby, and it’s actually quite cute.” As she spoke, Yun Ya’s eyebrows suddenly furrowed slightly, and Yan Song quickly handed the child back to Zhuang Xiyue and rushed over, “Is the wound hurting again?”

Yun Ya shook her head with a smile, “It’s okay.”

Doctors and nurses quickly came in to check on Yun Ya, confirming that there were no problems, only that the wound on her stomach would take time to heal. A group of people came bustling in and then bustling out.

Zhuang Xiyue chased after them, calling out to the leading doctor, “Can you tell me where Dr. Huide is? We owe him a great thanks.”

Zhuang Xiyue remembered this doctor often accompanied Dr. Huide, but ever since Yun Ya’s surgery was successful, Dr. Huide hadn’t been seen.

The male doctor politely smiled and said, “Sorry, I can’t disclose Dr. Huide’s whereabouts privately. I have things to attend to and will be leaving now.” With that, he turned and walked away.

Zhuang Xiyue watched with confusion as the man’s figure walked into the distance. Why did Dr. Huide disappear?

On the hospital rooftop, a tall figure stood facing the wind, hands behind his back, adding a touch of nonchalance.

His elongated eyes concealed two deep, cold pools, unfathomable.

Mingyue approached, glanced at the man’s back, and immediately bowed her head.

“The young lady is already awake.”

The coldness from the man’s body instantly faded, returning to a gentle and peaceful demeanor, with a barely detectable smile at the corner of his mouth.

“Are the two children alright?”

“They’re both very well.”

“What about the doctor? Did we find anything?”

Mingyue pursed her lips, “His background is indeed questionable, but he disappeared after the surgery. I have already arranged for someone to investigate.”

“Hmph, to be able to insert someone here under such tight arrangements, being so busy and yet having this capability, I’ve truly underestimated him.”

Mingyue bowed her head even lower.

“If he harbored malicious intent at the time, the consequences would have been unimaginable. If you cannot capture him, you need not return.”

Mingyue did not defend herself but instead bowed and whispered, “Yes.”

In the blink of an eye, the wind passed without a trace, and Mingyue’s figure had long disappeared from where she stood.

The man stood on the rooftop for a while, then walked downstairs with hands behind his back, arriving in front of the ward. Through the glass window on the door, he saw the two people inside embracing, unable to help but curve his lips.

After a moment, he turned and went to see the children.

Zhuang Xiyue was accompanying the children when she saw a young man of extraordinary elegance walk in. He appeared to be the same age as Yan Ke, yet his every gesture exuded an undeniable aura of calmness, the kind of demeanor only those who have long been in high positions possess, effortlessly commanding attention. It wasn’t oppressive, but it instinctively induced tension, making it impossible to be negligent.

Although Zhuang Xiyue had seen many grand occasions, she was still taken aback by the imposing aura of this young man.

Until the man approached with a gentle smile like a spring breeze, “Aunt Zhuang, I’m Yun Miao, here to see the children.”

As she finally saw the young man’s face, with the brows and eyes strikingly similar to Yun Ya, Zhuang Xiyue instantly understood his identity, further clarified by his self-introduction. She quickly stepped aside so that he could see the two children more clearly.

Yan Ke coughed and couldn’t help but glance at the man again, filled with murmurs in his heart.

This is Sister Yun Ya’s twin brother? He remembered Yun Miao was a deaf-mute child with poor intelligence when he was young, and heard earlier that Yun Miao had returned to normal and taken over the Ji’s from Yun Ya. But this was his first time seeing him grown up, unexpectedly such an outstanding individual, just like Sister Yun Ya, a true gem among people.

Zhuang Xiyue murmured to herself just as much as Yan Ke, watching the man bend down, his brows and eyes warm and gentle like the spring breeze, intoxicating.

The unrestrained love and affection in his eyes were unmistakable. It was evident he dearly loved the two children.

Such soft and enchanting gazes invariably led one to be entranced.

Zhuang Xiyue was seeing Ji Yunmiao for the first time, this man whom she had always heard about but never met, contrary to the rumors.

Gentle, graceful, noble, mysterious, possessing all the qualities of aristocracy and a calm, composed demeanor, a true celestial being, an exceptional talent.

Yun Miao took out two jade pendants, originally a pair, each half-shaped, with long dangling tassels; top-grade mutton-fat white jade, invaluable.

Placing them beside the two children, Yun Miao smiled and said, “These are gifts for the children to celebrate meeting them.”

Having seen all kinds of antiques since childhood, Zhuang Xiyue instantly recognized the immeasurable value of the jade pendants and promptly said, “This is too precious…”.

Yun Miao chuckled lightly, “Just a gift from an uncle to his nephew and niece, nothing about being too precious.”

If possible, he would bring the best of the world to his two dear nieces.

Seeing him say this, Zhuang Xiyue could only acquiesce.

Yan Ke couldn’t help but ask, “Brother Yun Miao, I’ve met you when I was young.”

Yun Miao glanced at him, his eyebrows slightly raised, “Is that so?”

Seeing him like this, it was clear he didn’t recognize him, making Yan Ke somewhat disappointed. He pointed at himself, “I’m Yan Ke, Yan Song is my older brother.”

Yun Miao casually nodded, unable to resist reaching out to pinch the little cheeks of a baby, so tender that they instantly reddened.

Yun Miao’s heart softened, filled with affection.

Yan Ke looked at Yuanyuan, then at Yun Miao, suddenly said, “Before, I thought Yuanyuan’s eyes looked like Sister-in-law’s, but now I realize Yuanyuan’s eyes are obviously inherited from her uncle.”

Yun Miao paused, lowered his head to look at the quiet Yuanyuan. The little girl had big, round black eyes, not lively like her sister, yet possessing unique serenity.

Zhuang Xiyue laughed beside him, “In this light, it truly is so.”

Yun Miao smiled, bent down and picked up Yuanyuan. The scene of a grown man holding a child seemed peculiar, yet also strangely harmonious, as Zhuang Xiyue watched the scene, a smile crept across the corners of her brows and eyes.

As the clouds disperse, everything developed in a positive direction.
