Elias Jennings and his family fell silent, unable to refute a word Seraphina Sterling had said. The matter was thus put to rest, and no one brought it up again.

Elias Jennings and his family were staying at the Jennings residence for the time being. They were relatives, after all, and since it was still the New Year, both families chose to selectively forget what had happened. But an emotional rift had inevitably formed between them. They saw each other constantly, so as long as they could maintain a veneer of politeness, it was enough.

Seraphina’s display in front of Elias Jennings and his family had caught Leo Jennings’ attention. As long as they were in the Jennings residence, Leo’s gaze was always on Seraphina. To him, she was a complete enigma. Seraphina, however, simply acted as if he wasn’t there. She paid even less attention to Elias Jennings’ business with The Grant Group; she had more important things to do.

The first Apex Auction had already begun. The initial stages were difficult, but things were slowly getting underway. Mina Adler was truly capable. Despite facing a joint blockade from the auction houses in Sanford at the outset, she gritted her teeth and persevered, never once complaining to Seraphina.

The New Year festivities soon came to an end, and Seraphina found herself increasingly busy. She had to think about school starting, wait for news from the Apex Auction, and on top of it all, dodge Leo Jennings’ constant observation. Leo, having been accepted to Yale, was no ordinary person. He wasn’t someone she could easily fool.

Of course, Seraphina had another pressing matter. Ronan Winters’ funds were still in her hands. They had a deal, and she couldn’t be late delivering his first round of profits. The only tool at her disposal right now was the stock market. The one thing she was thankful for was her finance background from her past life. When it came to The Grant Group and its data, no one had a clearer memory than her.

She had already used her memories to buy up a large number of shares at low prices. After monitoring them for a long time, she knew this batch had to be sold today to realize a sufficient profit. Just as she was executing the trades, Leo Jennings burst in.

Leo’s eyes immediately fell on the red and green trend lines on the computer screen. He squinted, a sharp glint in his eyes. "Looks like I’ve really underestimated you. I never thought we had a stock market guru hiding in the family!"

A flicker of annoyance showed in Seraphina’s brilliant eyes. "Leo Jennings, your family is in business, and you’re a top student heading to Yale. Do I really need to teach you to knock before entering a room?"

This was the first time in a while that Leo had seen Seraphina show any real emotion. He held up the senior-year textbook in his hand. "You’re right, not knocking was my mistake. I apologize. I was actually thinking of helping you study for your senior year, but it looks like that won’t be necessary. For someone who can play the stock market this skillfully, I imagine your high school courses are a piece of cake."

Seraphina’s expression softened slightly. "If you have the time, you should be more concerned about your family’s company. The project with The Grant Group isn’t that easy to secure. You’ve been in Tollan Town for a while now. The New Year is over, and construction is about to begin. If you can’t lock down this deal soon, I’d say your prospects are grim."

Seraphina quickly executed a few more trades—buying low and selling high. This wasn’t just a stock market tactic; it was the fundamental profit strategy for all of commerce.

Leo’s sharp eyes caught which stocks Seraphina was trading, and he couldn’t help but try to reason with her. "Why did you sell those? They’ve been doing so well lately, and they’re bound to surge even higher in a few days! It’s a shame to sell them now. Won’t you regret it if the price goes up again?"
