Chapter 223: Chapter 223: The Matter Is Not Over Yet (Part 1)

Seraphina Sterling finally started to understand what was going on, and the smile on her face stiffened. "You’re after that stupid bracelet too? Is that why you asked me to meet you?"

She never imagined Terrence Grant would do something like this. She had always warned herself not to get too close to him, that he was dangerous. But after spending so much time together, she had unknowingly started to consider him a friend. To think that he would investigate her behind her back, that he would do something like this, all for the Jade Bracelet!

"That Jade Bracelet will bring you endless trouble! The kind of trouble you can’t solve just by being a little clever!" Terrence Grant’s expression was grave. If it hadn’t been for his detailed investigation, he never would have known that the Jade Bracelet he had been searching for was in Seraphina Sterling’s possession.

"If you want the Jade Bracelet, just say so! Don’t give me that useless talk!" Seraphina Sterling had finally recovered from her shock. "If you think you can replace the gift Zion Hale gave me with something else, that’s impossible! Do you really think any gift from you could compare to Zion’s?"

Terrence Grant’s face instantly fell. His narrowed eyes glinted with a dangerous light, and his deep voice was thick with suppressed rage. "You’ve fallen for Zion Hale?"

"Does that have anything to do with you?" Seraphina Sterling wasn’t afraid of his anger. In fact, she seemed to welcome the confrontation. Beside them, Hughes was so scared he didn’t know what to do. ’If it were just the Young Master getting angry, Seraphina’s presence might have been enough to quell his rage and save us attendants from a dangerous situation. But now, even Seraphina is furious. This is seriously bad!’

Terrence Grant suddenly strode forward. The fury blazing in his wide eyes was unmistakable. "What did you say?" His voice was low, as if forced through gritted teeth, and his furious gaze looked like it wanted to tear her to shreds.

Hughes’s heart was already pounding, THUMP THUMP THUMP, but Seraphina Sterling acted as if nothing was wrong. "Should I explain it in more detail?" She gave a faint smile. "What I mean is, even if you brought me mountains of gold and silver today, it wouldn’t be as important as the Jade Bracelet that Zion gave me! It has nothing to do with its value. It represents his sentiment!"

"So in your heart, I’m no match for that Blondie, Zion Hale?" Terrence Grant was about to die from anger. ’There’s another man in her heart!’ That realization made his blood boil.

"Zion is the brother I chose! All I know is that he would never investigate me behind my back!" Terrence Grant’s actions had thoroughly enraged Seraphina Sterling. Seraphina rarely got truly angry, because in her eyes, anger was a sign of incompetence. ’Only incompetent people get angry when faced with unexpected situations! And I don’t want to be an incompetent person!’

Terrence Grant heard the crux of the issue and suppressed his anger. "I’m doing this for your own good. That Jade Bracelet is a world of trouble, and I don’t want you to get dragged into it! Zion Hale gave you such a huge problem. You should be questioning his sinister intentions, not my feelings for you!"

"Trouble?" Seraphina Sterling let out a sarcastic laugh. "If it’s so much trouble, then why do you want to get it? Don’t treat me like a three-year-old. I’ll judge for myself whether it’s trouble or not! Besides, even if it is a world of trouble, Zion Hale didn’t know. You can’t accuse him of wanting to harm me!"

"I want to get the Jade Bracelet because I have the ability to handle it! You, on the other hand, do not!" Terrence Grant suppressed the rage in his heart. "And another thing—you’ve only met Zion Hale once. You probably didn’t even exchange more than a few words. What gives you the right to trust him so much?"
