Chapter 295: Chapter 295: Just Deserts (4)
But what these three didn’t know was that with her skills, Seraphina Sterling could have dealt with three times as many men of their caliber with her eyes closed!
But this time, Seraphina Sterling didn’t go for a quick knockout. Instead, she used her nimble movements to constantly evade them in the banquet hall. So, the scene that unfolded before the guests was a group of men chasing a girl around the grand hall. One moment they’d knock over a dining table, the next they’d topple a stack of wine glasses! The dessert station was ruined, and the lounge area was in shambles.
Five minutes later, the once-lavish and extravagant banquet hall was an absolute wreck. It looked as if a swarm of locusts had torn through it; no one would ever guess that a luxurious birthday party had just been held there. Yet, through it all, Seraphina Sterling hadn’t sustained a single scratch.
She had perfectly ruined Aiden Faulkner’s birthday party. ’Of course, it wasn’t intentional. I was forced into it!’ After all, who was it that invited such unsavory characters in the first place?
Peter Quinn was still waiting for these men to get his revenge, but a considerable amount of time had passed, and the banquet hall was now unrecognizable, yet there were no results to show for it. His goons hadn’t even managed to touch the hem of Seraphina Sterling’s clothes!
"Useless! You’re all useless! You can’t even handle one girl! What do I even keep you around for? I’m telling you, if you can’t teach this damn brat a lesson today, then don’t bother following me ever again!"
Hearing this, the men instantly grew tense. If they stopped following Peter Quinn, who would fund their lifestyles? How would they get into exclusive venues? How could they afford to wear luxury brands? No, they had to hold on to this life at all costs!
A tall, thin man behind Seraphina Sterling pulled a sharp knife from his waistband. It glinted coldly under the crystalline lights. ’I have to protect this luxurious life!’
"Look out!"
Someone screamed a warning. Seraphina Sterling glanced out of the corner of her eye and saw the man lunging at her with the knife. She immediately snatched an empty bottle from nearby and smashed it against the man’s wrist.
Seraphina Sterling had used a precise flick of her wrist. The knife flew from the man’s grasp, burying itself with a THUD in an inconspicuous corner of the room. Seraphina had sensed someone there for a while now, silently observing the scene without making a move. ’I might as well see who’s been enjoying the show.’
Just then, a man emerged from that very corner and knocked the knife to the floor. The crisp clang of metal on the marble tiles echoed through the hall, which once again fell into silence.
The crowd watched as a grim-faced man, his lips pressed into a thin line, stepped into view.
’The moment I saw Leo Warren, I should have guessed that the man at the inconspicuous entrance was Martin Quinn!’ Seraphina thought. ’I can’t believe he moved so fast. After what I told him, he managed to investigate everything and even find his way to Aiden Faulkner’s birthday party! Now this is going to be a good show!’
Martin Quinn, dressed in a black suit, walked forward, and the crowd instinctively parted to make way for him. As the imposing man in the perfectly tailored suit advanced slowly, people spontaneously scattered. His presence alone was enough to tell them that this man’s status was anything but ordinary; why else would so many people fear him on sight?
When Aiden Faulkner saw Martin Quinn approaching, she, despite her shock, immediately stepped up to perform her duties as the evening’s hostess. While everyone else backed away, she alone held her ground. Instead of making way for Martin Quinn, she offered a gracious smile. "Mr. Quinn, what an honor it is to have you attend my birthday party!"
No one in the crowd actually believed that Martin Quinn was there for Aiden Faulkner’s birthday party. But the way she framed it made it sound as if he had come specifically to celebrate with her.
