Seraphina Sterling was in luck. She had just arrived home when Jasmine Faulkner and Faye Sterling also returned from the hospital.

Seraphina Sterling looked at the gaunt girl before her. Faye’s eyes had lost their usual light, staring blankly into the distance like a soulless doll. ’What in the world did Martin Quinn do to her? How could he turn a vibrant, beautiful young woman so wizened and old? I can’t feel a single spark of life from her!’

"Jasmine, how is Maple?" Walter Sterling, dressed in a Zhongshan suit, walked out of the garden. When he saw the utterly silent Faye Sterling, a flicker of worry crossed his eyes.

"The doctor said she’s malnourished and anemic, and that her body will need a lot of care to recover! But the hardest part is her mental state. Maple seems to have suffered some kind of trauma, which is why she hasn’t said a word! Dad, we can’t just let this go. My daughter was perfectly fine, and Martin Quinn takes her, and she comes back like this! I’m going to make the Quinn family answer for this!"

Tears streamed down Jasmine Faulkner’s face as she spoke. The daughter before her was a shadow of her former self. ’What on earth did she endure at Martin Quinn’s hands? How could she have turned into this?’

"Hah! Answer for this? Maple is lucky to be alive, and you still want to demand answers from the Quinn family? Such is the folly of a woman!" Walter Sterling fumed, gripping his cane and striking the ground.

"You sit at home all day! Do you have any idea the kind of crisis The Sterling Group has been plunged into because of Maple’s reckless actions? Do you know that your husband has been working day and night, scrambling to raise funds and trying to solve the crisis hitting all of The Sterling Group’s major stores? If Maple hadn’t provoked the Quinn family, how could the company have faced so many problems all at once?"

Walter Sterling glared fiercely at Jasmine Faulkner. "The Quinn family sent Maple back. Their position is perfectly clear: this matter is over. They won’t trouble the Sterling Family any further. And you want to go to their door and demand retribution now? Have you lost your mind? Do you want our Sterling Family to be wiped off the map in Aethelgard?"

After he finished speaking, Walter Sterling coughed heavily a few times and then sighed in exasperation. He was completely helpless against Jasmine Faulkner’s foolish ideas. ’I’m getting more and more worried,’ he thought. ’If I were to just die, the Sterling Family would be well and truly finished! Owen’s handling of this crisis just goes to show he’s not cut out to run a company this large!’

"No one is to mention this matter again! Since the doctor says Maple is traumatized, then find a psychiatrist immediately. We must get her treated! And where is Owen? Something this big happens, and where is he? His own daughter returns and he doesn’t even show his face. It’s preposterous! Jasmine, call Owen and tell him to get back here right now! Look at the time!"

When Walter Sterling gave an order, no one dared to disobey. After receiving the call, Owen Sterling immediately rushed back.

So much had happened that week that Owen Sterling hadn’t been able to spare a thought for Faye Sterling. It was only after the call that he learned his daughter had been sent back by the Quinn family. He immediately dropped his business engagement, so excited he could hardly wait to get home.

It was unclear, however, whether he was happy because his daughter had returned home safe and sound, or because Faye Sterling’s return signified that the Quinn family was letting the Sterling Family off the hook.

Owen Sterling arrived home just in time for dinner.

Seraphina Sterling remained silent, merely observing the "touching" scene of a family finally reunited. It was the first time she’d ever seen her second uncle so emotional. Recalling the sight of Leo Fenton in the living room before she left, Seraphina Sterling gave a cold, inward sneer.
