Chapter 483: Chapter 483: Ruined the Birthday Message (7)

It all happened in the blink of an eye. No one could have predicted such an accident! The crowd was stunned into silence, and Mr. Hale’s expression was the darkest of all. This was a piece of calligraphy he had coveted for years, and just like that, it was ruined! He had just been thinking about having the piece mounted and hanging it in his bedroom, and now it was completely destroyed!

"Seraphina Sterling! What on earth are you trying to do? If you have a problem, take it out on me! What kind of person takes their anger out on a server? Now look what you’ve done! You’ve ruined the calligraphy Mr. Hale went to so much trouble to get. Are you happy now?!" Aiden Faulkner’s accusatory voice suddenly rang out, snapping everyone back to their senses.

All eyes couldn’t help but shift to Seraphina Sterling. Just moments ago in the outer hall, this was the girl who had caused that commotion. While she may not have been the main culprit, she was surely involved to some extent. It was impossible she had nothing to do with it! As the saying goes, it takes two to tango. How could she be completely blameless when something like that happened? And things hadn’t even settled down from that, and now this! This incident, however, was far more serious than the last.

"Young lady of the Sterling family, if there’s an issue, we can discuss it calmly. Sit down and let’s talk. You have such a volatile temper! It’s not good for you to get angry so easily. When something irreversible happens, it benefits no one. Now that the calligraphy is ruined, Mr. Hale is sure to be upset!" Aiden Faulkner’s grandfather was the first to speak. His tone was amiable, but his words were filled with accusation.

"Seraphina Sterling, if you’re angry with me, you could have just confronted me directly. Why did you have to take it out on Mr. Hale’s calligraphy? This is a piece by Mr. Holden! Do you have any idea how much trouble Justin went through to get Mr. Holden to do this? And now you’ve destroyed it! Do you just enjoy destroying the fruits of other people’s labor? Do you get some sick pleasure from ruining things people cherish? To be so malicious at such a young age—don’t you think you’re being too cruel?"

With a grief-stricken expression, Aiden Faulkner put on a lofty air and launched into her tirade. She even managed to look heartbroken, truly proving the old saying: life is a stage, and it’s all about the performance.

Aiden Faulkner’s words caused the crowd’s opinion of Seraphina Sterling to take a nosedive. Any previous admiration they held for her vanished without a trace.

"Enough! Aiden Faulkner, this isn’t a movie set. If you want to act, take it to a film crew. Not at my grandfather’s birthday party! And not in front of me. It’s disgusting," Zion Hale snapped. The smile was completely gone from his face, his stern tone erasing any trace of the cheerful, sunny boy he usually was.

"Zion, what are you saying? Watch your tone!" Justin Hale walked over, coming to Aiden Faulkner’s defense.

"Brother, your taste in women is truly awful! How could you make such a fake, pretentious woman your fiancée? I guarantee that if you two ever get married, our family will never have a moment’s peace! This woman is a venomous snake, and she can spin a performance at the drop of a hat without even needing a script. You’ll really have your hands full then—a mountain of work at the office, and no peace when you come home! If you ask me, just to be safe, you’d be better off finding a new fiancée sooner rather than later. It would save you the trouble of a messy divorce down the line!"

Zion Hale, for his part, had a wickedly sharp tongue and held nothing back, no matter the occasion. Aiden Faulkner was so livid her face turned pale.

"Zion Hale, you can’t tear me down like this just to defend Seraphina Sterling! I am your older brother’s fiancée! When you humiliate me in front of everyone, you’re disgracing your own brother! What are you really trying to accomplish? Mr. Hale’s precious calligraphy has been ruined, and you’re standing here defending an outsider? As someone of the younger generation, isn’t your behavior completely out of line?!"

Aiden Faulkner was trembling with rage. While she and Zion Hale had never gotten along, he had never once aired his grievances with her in public. But today, on such a momentous occasion, for him to say something like that... How could she possibly show her face in their social circle ever again?
