Chapter 482: Chapter 482: Ruined the Congratulatory Birthday Message (6)

But he was actually laughing and chatting with Seraphina Sterling, even extending an invitation! The difference in treatment was just too obvious! Wasn’t this a slap in her face in front of everyone? She had just confessed her feelings, offering to help Wyatt Gallagher manage his company, and Felix Gallagher had only smiled without giving a direct answer! Then he turned right around and started chatting with Seraphina Sterling! This was blatant favoritism! This was a complete and utter slap in her face!

Right now, Shannon Gable wanted nothing more than to throw Seraphina Sterling right out of the room.

In reality, Shannon Gable was just overthinking things. Given Felix Gallagher’s status as an elder, how could he possibly intend to wound a junior? No one else would have thought that way; such casual conversation was perfectly normal. Only someone as paranoid as Shannon Gable would project all her resentment onto Seraphina Sterling.

There is a saying: the world you see is only as wide as your own heart. Shannon Gable was just that kind of self-centered person, so it was inevitable that her view of things would be incredibly one-sided.

Shannon Gable, a glass of wine in hand, walked over to Seraphina Sterling. "Miss Sterling, long time no see!"

’Shannon Gable? Coming over to greet me? I’d better be on my guard.’ "Long time no see!"

"I saw Faye over there. Why don’t we go check on her together? I just saw her; there wasn’t a single person with her. She’s all alone. As her older sister, are you just going to ignore her and not care whether she lives or dies?" Shannon’s voice rose on the last sentence, her tone aggressive. It was a clear accusation.

"Shannon Gable, are you nuts? If Faye Sterling is well enough to attend this birthday banquet, then she must be fine both physically and mentally. She’s not a child. What could possibly happen from being alone for a few minutes? If you’re so worried about her, and you two are such good friends, why don’t you go check on her yourself? Why do you have to drag Seraphina into it?"

Before Seraphina Sterling could even reply, the words had already tumbled out of Zion Hale’s mouth. It was ridiculous. She was *his* girl to tease and boss around; how could he possibly let someone else say a single harsh word to her?

’Zion Hale? The second young master of the Hale Family? It seems I’ve really underestimated this Miss Sterling. One Wyatt Gallagher wasn’t enough, so now she’s hooked Zion Hale, too! Two-timing them! Isn’t she afraid everything will blow up in her face?’

"Of course I can go over there! But I can only go as a friend, and how can a friend compare to her own sister, her own family! Seraphina Sterling, you keep making excuses and refusing to go. That’s your little sister! How can you be so heartless toward your own flesh and blood? Aren’t you being a little too cruel?" Shannon Gable was not easily dismissed.

"Seraphina Sterling, I know you’ve never liked Faye, but no matter how you feel, she’s still your sister, your family. Given her condition, is it really appropriate for you to just leave her over there by herself?" Aiden Faulkner had walked over as well.

"This is my family’s business, Mr. Faulkner. It would be best if you didn’t interfere. I’d advise you to focus your attention on your own fiancé. If you were to lose your status as Justin Hale’s fiancé, life in the Faulkner Family wouldn’t be so easy for you, now would it?" Seraphina Sterling gave a faint smile and turned to leave. ’All the players are on stage. The show is about to start.’

But in the exact moment she turned, a waiter carrying a tray laden with glasses of red wine bumped into her. The accident happened in a flash. The waiter lost their footing, and the glasses of red wine went flying. Two of them landed squarely on Mr. Holden’s calligraphy.

The dark red wine soaked into the pristine white rice paper, and the jet-black ink began to bleed, spreading along with the liquid until it all blurred together. The original characters were completely illegible, leaving nothing but a dark, murky stain. A perfectly fine birthday message, ruined just like that.
