With less than 6 hours remaining before the boss beasts appeared, nobody had time to celebrate their advancement to the next phase, nor did they have the time or resources to plan against other academies.

Even the Sunborn Royal Academy, after losing 7 of its stronger students, couldn’t afford to strike another academy while facing the beast that would come to attack them.

In other words, everybody was busy with their own preparations.

In the Aurelius Academy Stronghold, people were packing all sorts of potions into their spatial rings.

Healing potions, enhancement potions, boosted recovery potions, corrosion potions, exploding vials, and anything else the alchemist team had made up to now.

Leo and Lily used the time to strengthen the island pillar so it wouldn’t collapse from any strong strikes or shockwaves.

Since they didn’t know what kind of beasts would appear, they prepared for all angles.

By the time they finished, only 2 hours remained.

"Do we even need to worry about the minions?" Kaelion suddenly asked.

"If they aren’t flying beasts, I don’t think they would have the capabilities to even cross this kilometre-long moat," Leo replied, looking towards him.

"But I want them defeated so that we get those 100 points, so be ready nonetheless. And what if they are indeed flying beasts?"

Kaelion nodded. That was reasonable. Unfortunately, he couldn’t participate personally in the fight because of the deep injury he had sustained earlier.

But that didn’t mean he couldn’t fight while riding the Skyreaver and using elemental attacks.

Though, Leo had another thing in mind.

A Low 5-star beast and its minions... doesn’t that mean all the beasts should belong to one theme? Like, everybody could be earth-type, wood-type, fire-type, or anything... What if I use all the minions’ beast cores and the boss’s beast core to make one broken beast core?

Leo was getting excited about what kind of beasts would appear, though the fact that he would fight a Low 5-star beast was thrilling on its own.

And the fact that the beast would disappear after 1 hour also told him how dangerous it would be.

It seemed the higher-ups weren’t thinking they would defeat the boss beast; they just wanted to see if they could hold it back.

For me, it’s like a challenge that I should defeat the beast within 1 hour... I need those experience points to level up, Leo thought.

Soon, the timer ticking over the stronghold reached its last seconds.

The next second, the announcement board lit up, and a slight tremor ran through the ground, growing stronger by the second.

They were reading through the text when a sudden spatial tear appeared about 2 kilometres from the cliff.

The tears had a purple shade in the empty part, and they appeared right along the forest grounds.

Yes, ’they.’

Because, except for the 70- to 80-metre-tall and wide spatial tear at the centre, countless smaller spatial tears lined up alongside it, in various sizes, spanning almost 2 to 3 kilometres.

Then something started to appear through the huge tear.

Though it was just the leg, it was greater than 10 metres tall.

The leg was very thick and covered in an obsidian-like frame that seemed to heat and boil the air itself around it, making the sight hazy.

A spiralling column with red-hot flames underneath.

Slowly, the whole beast came into view.

It was a colossal quadrupedal beast resembling a monstrous fusion of a lizard and a bull.

Glowing orange cracks crossed its black volcanic hide, like molten rock beneath its skin. Four massive horns curved backward from its head above a huge lower jaw. Jagged volcanic ridges covered its back, constantly leaking smoke.

There was another striking feature that appeared at the end: a thick, club-like tail ending in obsidian spikes.

An almost 50-metre-tall hulking monstrosity that sent shivers down everybody who looked at it.

Its presence alone lit the surrounding trees on fire; that was the amount of heat and fire element it radiated through its body.

But the interesting thing was that the beast seemed rather nonchalant, not even looking towards its attacking destination, which was the Aurelius Stronghold.

Vorthuun (Low 5-star) - Super Bloodline

After that, the beasts from the spatial tears started to appear one after another, spreading the wildfire through the forest rapidly with their heat-radiating presence.

At a glance, Leo could tell their rankings ranged from Low 1-star to Pseudo 3-star, and in rare cases, even High 3-star.

They ranged from fodder like premature lizards to something like drakes, but Leo noted the major ones. Some were even familiar from the Ember Family Secret Realm.

Magma Hounds

- Black, stone-skinned wolf-like beasts with muscular bodies, glowing orange cracks across their hides, jagged obsidian spines, and molten eyes.

Obsidian Ravagers:

- Massive gorilla-like beasts covered in thick black obsidian plates, with elongated arms, enormous stone fists, hunched backs, and glowing magma veins.

Emberwing Drakes:

- Sleek dark-red drakes with black scales, enormous leathery wings, molten-orange wing membranes, sharp horns, and glowing mouths that constantly released smoke.

Lava Burrowers:

- Long salamander-like beasts with segmented volcanic armour, short powerful limbs, jagged obsidian plates, glowing eyes, and molten cracks running along their bodies.

Cinderbacks:

- Enormous rhino-like beasts with thick black volcanic hides, heavily armoured shoulders, massive legs, glowing magma-covered horns, and smoke billowing from their nostrils.

Ash Crawlers:

- Small six-legged insectoid beasts with charcoal-black carapaces, glowing red eyes, razor-sharp limbs, jagged backs, and tiny embers constantly falling from their bodies.

Flamehorn Brutes:

- Towering bison-like beasts with massive muscular bodies, thick volcanic hides, four enormous curved horns, glowing magma cracks, and flames pouring from their nostrils.

They were all looking around at their surroundings as if unsure of what to do, but then something changed.

The spirit beam released a massive wave of unfamiliar energy, and the bluish-white beam transformed into a blood-red colour that immediately caught the attention of the beasts that had been distracted.

Something shifted, and all of a sudden, they started to charge towards the stronghold, which even included the Low 5-star beast, Vorthuun.
