Chapter 850 -822: Perseverance

“Catch the sword!”

Right as the Blazing Demon was entangled with Pang Mu, unable to shatter his defense because of the Sub-divine Artifact robe he wore, Chen Feng shouted, and casually tossed the Endless Sword over!

“Hm? This weapon?” Pang Mu had not expected the Blazing Demon to be this ferocious; his confidence instantly plummeted into a trough. He knew that if not for the powerful gear on his body, he might already have been blasted apart. And now, when he saw Chen Feng fling out the sword in his hand, his heart began pounding violently!

Even now, Pang Mu still didn’t truly know what kind of existence Chen Feng was. He had originally thought the man was just a toy, yet after fighting to this point, that “toy” had turned into a lethal killing tool!

The other party seemed to wield some kind of mysterious power. Those beings who had just fought him each possessed strength no weaker than a Legendary Giant Whale. If not for his own good fortune, he would have been skewered by Chen Feng’s sword long ago, his corpse gone without a trace!

Pang Mu had always considered himself invincible under heaven. From the very beginning, when he discovered he was different from ordinary people, he had come into contact with some professionals. But whether in terms of bizarre abilities or speed of advancement, he surpassed most others severalfold. On top of that, he constantly stumbled into all kinds of opportunities!

Stroll out the door for a casual walk, and he’d encounter a Golden Tier sea beast swearing allegiance. As for the godhead he had devoured, that was even more absurdly ironic.

That godhead had only just descended, its energy still unstable. By sheer coincidence, Pang Mu was not far from its arrival point. The godhead tried to devour Pang Mu’s soul and seize his body. But what it never expected was that, as the Chosen One, Pang Mu’s Spiritual Power was like a boundless ocean—endless and immeasurable. Thus, the weakened godhead not only failed to devour him, it instead fell completely into Pang Mu’s spiritual world; even its memories were stripped away, reduced to a mere puppet on strings!

That godhead had worn a robe, which was precisely the Sub-divine Artifact Pang Mu now had on his body. At this moment, the godhead within his mind was completely devoured, and because their auras perfectly matched, much of the power he had previously been unable to unleash now surged forth!

One could say that originally, this defensive Divine Artifact on his body could only exert fifty percent of its power. But now, with him having assumed a godhead-like state, the Sub-divine Artifact’s energy could be drawn out to a full hundred percent.

In such a situation, Pang Mu and the Blazing Demon had fallen into a sort of stalemate, with neither able to truly harm the other. Yet what Pang Mu hadn’t expected was that in this very state, Chen Feng actually threw the Endless Sword over!

Pang Mu sensed a terrifying aura on that Longsword. He even had a thought: once the Blazing Demon got its hands on that weapon, it would spell fatal danger for him!

“I must not let it obtain it!”

With that thought, a trace of viciousness surfaced in Pang Mu’s eyes. He clenched his fists tight, fixed his gaze on the Endless Sword, and spat out a word from his lips, heavily weighted with power.

That word was “Wind”!

The moment the word “Wind” was uttered, a tornado instantly roared up on the spot. It seemed to appear out of thin air, wrapping itself around the blade of the Endless Sword all at once, like a seal that encased the sword within, not allowing it to escape!

—Divine Speech!

The difference between a godhead and a mortal was that the former possessed the ability to alter rules. Previously, even though beings like Mara and Naraku’s avatar were powerful, because they relied on vessels, many of their abilities could not be fully unleashed.

But Pang Mu was different. It was not that a godhead had devoured him; rather, he had swallowed the godhead whole. Coupled with his extraordinary Talent, he naturally could grasp some extremely bizarre abilities.

Divine Speech.

Within the limits of one’s power, it could realize concrete manifestations!

“Hm? You want to trap this weapon? Don’t even think about it!”

Just then, the Blazing Demon’s voice roared from its throat. As the sound rang out, the seawater on all sides exploded, and waves of powerful thought and powers rippled out, making the entire space tremble!

In an instant, a five-meter-tall Blazing Demon appeared in the sky, its entire body wreathed in flames, bearing a dignified visage. Standing between heaven and earth, it radiated awe-inspiring might that suppressed the world.

Previously, the Blazing Demon had only been around two meters tall. But now, after fusing a wisp of Divine Energy, it too had mastered some wondrous abilities, such as changing its form—compressing its body to as small as two meters, or enlarging itself into a five-meter giant!

The Endless Sword had originally belonged to the Blazing Demon, only later taken by Chen Feng. Even though Chen Feng had used special methods to temper the Endless Sword and claim it as his own, the Blazing Demon had once wielded it. They were already intimately familiar with each other. At this moment, as the Blazing Demon released its aura, the Endless Sword trapped within the tornado began to stir restlessly.

With a flicker of thought, a powerful strand of its will returned to its own body. Immediately after, a streak of orange-yellow light ripped through the tornado and, with incredible speed, shot toward the Blazing Demon!

Pang Mu tried to interfere again, but the Blazing Demon had already suffered one setback and would never give him a second chance. It opened its maw wide, as if creating a black hole, and roared toward Pang Mu.

“Roar!”

The roar was no weaker than that tornado just now. At this point, Lu Wei and Wei Xun, standing far away, had long been stunned by everything before their eyes. Although their strength was not weak, they weren’t qualified to take part in a battle of this level. A single slip could see them directly suppressed to death. No, not even a direct confrontation—just a ripple of stray force would be enough to kill them on the spot!

Seeing the raging wind howling toward him—sound waves born of the Blazing Demon’s roar—the energies around them twisted into eerie patterns. Pang Mu was blocked and simply couldn’t stop the Blazing Demon from reclaiming the Endless Sword.

“Pa!”

With a crisp sound of contact, the Blazing Demon’s hand had already closed around the Endless Sword’s hilt. Its huge frame inevitably gave off the feeling of a terrifying Demon King!

The Blazing Demon’s muscles bulged one by one, each fiber defined in magnificently smooth lines, like a masterpiece carved by the greatest sculptor in the world.

This was the Blazing Demon!

This was the Blazing Demon wielding the Endless Sword!

It could be said that without the Endless Sword, the Blazing Demon always felt as if something were missing—like a boxer without gloves, never quite able to let loose.

But now, having stepped back into the ring with its “gloves” on, the aura emanating from its entire body underwent an incomparable transformation!

Completely naked, lines sleek and powerful, gripping the Endless Sword in hand, the Blazing Demon’s gaze changed, and it thrust a vicious stab straight ahead.

Pang Mu witnessed all of this; his pupils shrank into pinpoints. A moment ago, he was the one inflicting such life-and-death pressure on others. Now, however, the target had become himself!

After fusing the godhead, fragments of memory had surfaced in Pang Mu’s mind. He couldn’t fully identify what this weapon was, but he could clearly sense in it a power capable of harming him!

At this moment, Pang Mu knew he could no longer only defend. Otherwise, his defense would eventually be broken. So he stretched out his hand, and the three-pronged fork that had appeared before materialized once more in his grasp.

Like a massive beam crashing against the suspended Jingyang Grand Bell, the clash between the Longsword and the three-pronged fork rang out with a deafening boom, as though the entire sea surface shuddered!

“Crack! Crack!”

The reforged three-pronged fork, smashed by that single strike, sprouted countless spider web-like cracks, and those cracks were still spreading.

“Not good! How is this weapon’s destructive power so strong?”

Watching the weapon in his hand break apart bit by bit, Pang Mu’s eyes filled with a hint of dread. He had thought that even if he couldn’t match them, he could at least block a few blows. Who would have thought things would spiral into such a situation?

Right now, Pang Mu felt as though all the blood in his body had frozen solid; even his eyes betrayed an inexplicable fear. He found himself no longer in control of his own emotions.

He understood one thing: right before him lay mortal danger!

A Hunter!

The Blazing Demon was a perfect Hunter!

In the instant Pang Mu’s face twisted with fear, the Blazing Demon took another step forward. A red flash streaked by, and the Endless Sword actually elongated, hacking down at Pang Mu with blinding speed!

“Drip.”

A drop of fresh blood rolled to the ground.

Pang Mu’s body stiffened slightly. Though at the last possible second he managed to avoid a fatal blow, his shoulder was still struck by the Longsword. The strange thing was that while his clothes were clearly unbroken, his flesh had indeed been wounded. A shallow cut appeared across his shoulder, and blood, sliding down from the shoulder, dripped onto the ground.
