Chapter 884: Advancing Civilization

Dawn was just breaking.

Chen Feng had already risen. With his current state, even going without sleep for several days wouldn’t tire him. However, sleep better restores mental and physical energy, so Chen Feng found that just three hours of sleep a night was sufficient for him, leaving him more time to focus on other tasks.

After half a month of relocation, all the survivors from Sea God’s Residence had moved into the region occupied by the Naya people. Compared to their initial unease, seeing the picturesque environment greatly reduced their apprehension.

Even though the land was unfamiliar and harbored aggressive monsters, the limited energy hadn’t caused large-scale mutations. Apart from a few powerful creatures, the other monsters were not much stronger than typical beasts.

It was a true paradise!

In a few days, the survivors would completely forget their past and start a new life here.

The Naya arranged the survivors in an area near the coast, away from the forest, where monster attacks were not too frequent.

Of course, part of their reason for doing so was to keep a distance. Anyone would be cautious about a new, unfamiliar neighbor, unwilling to open their doors freely for observation and inspection.

Trust takes time, and so does infiltration and integration. Chen Feng was in no hurry to accelerate plans to erode the Naya. This place was very safe, and he had ample time to gradually change everything here.

On the island, Chen Feng and Li stood side by side, watching the survivors begin to construct their homes.

With limited resources, building brick houses was unsuitable. Since the forest was dense and wood plentiful, Chen Feng decided to use local materials to transform the houses into wooden structures.

Li kept her promise, bringing over a thousand Naya warriors to assist. Yet when humans gaze upon the tall, unusually colored Naya, some commotion was inevitable.

However, Chen Feng’s authority was undeniable. Even amidst panic, no riot erupted.

The burning torches were vivid memories; the sharp cries seemed to linger in everyone’s ears. Under these circumstances, no one dared to act recklessly in front of Chen Feng.

When the humans realized the Naya meant no harm and came to help them, relationships eased somewhat.

Environmental hygiene was the top priority.

Due to the island’s many mosquitoes and with tens of thousands living together, an outbreak could soon transform into an epidemic.

Without medicine or medical practitioners, an epidemic is a disaster too great to bear for the common people.

Chen Feng did not have everyone build houses; for a stable force, houses were just one part of the plan.

Do not expect the Naya to be particularly civilized. As primitive natives, more often they resolve biological needs in the wild.

No toilets existed here; they defecate along paths or in corners. The island is vast, and with environmental influence, everyone adapted to such living habits.

Besides the Naya, were not the survivors from Sea God’s Residence just the same?

Everyone ate, drank, and defecated on ships. With too many people, the environment was long affected, reeking terribly.

This new land was different. Chen Feng’s first order was to build toilets.

Everyone needed to abandon past bad habits and regain civilization!

Chen Feng wanted to establish Order here!

A civilized society cannot exist without Order; it is the backbone of civilization. Only by establishing Order can laws and basics of peaceful times be rebuilt.

Additionally, Chen Feng ordered stakes be erected around the perimeter for demarcation; these were a weakened version of the wall. Ultimately, Chen Feng aimed to turn this into a real city, unlike the Naya who remained wild, with camps surrounded only by symbolic fences offering no real defense.

Chen Feng seemed to have some obsession; from a bird’s-eye view, the entire camp was a standard square. The vast land was divided into four blocks. Two were for housing, while the remaining were still blank.

Chen Feng had plans for the future.

The remaining regions were designated for commerce and military camps.

Sea God’s governance was overly relaxed, whereas military training was perfect for learning discipline.

Chen Feng did not want professionals relying on strength to challenge the land’s Order anymore.

Those previously scorched by flames were not buried; Chen Feng ordered them moved to a corner of the military camp.

Those people held ranks no less than Captain, once wielding power, ruling over thousands.

Before Chen Feng, even without seeing the attacker’s face, they turned into desiccated corpses.

Chen Feng used absolute force and brutality to inform everyone on this land that before Order, all were equal—whether they were self-important professionals or mere survivors—all who challenge the rules met only one fate: a dead end.

Past Order achieved success through such iron methods.

Regarding faith, that could wait. Minds were scattered now with thoughts varied. After settling down, sending envoys would be more impactful.

Standing beside Chen Feng, Li’s eyes flickered with many expressions. Just as humans wondered at the Naya, Li was also curious about humans.

Especially those square houses and the initial forms of connecting roads, they couldn’t be praised for their qualities yet somehow felt comfortable.

She couldn’t help but think of the disordered camp—built without any regulation—and many houses crowded, causing headaches.

At this moment, Li’s gaze held some aspiration; she even considered reconstructing the camp, though the thought was wild, affecting countless people. She quickly suppressed it deep within her heart.

However, this idea was like a seed planted in her heart; time was the best catalyst. Soon, when the seed germinated and sprouted, Li might actively inquire about the detailed construction process of the camp.

In this world, the simplest is forceful invasion, while a hundred times more terrifying is cultural conquest!

Forgetting the past, changing the past—when everything aligns with Order—perhaps the land will no longer have true Naya!
