’Have you ever thought about eating an Outer God?’

Alyss had never heard such an absurd suggestion before.

What was the expression on her face?

Confusion? Bewilderment? Perhaps even anger or annoyance.

Whatever it was, it’s clear that her thoughts are on full display right now.

She had no idea on how she should even reply to Alice.

After all, between the two of them, Alice was the one who was ’eating’ things most of the time.

Alyss was the lazy one watching her sister walk around. Granted, it wasn’t lazy by choice. Rather, with everything going on, it was hard to have her walk around without care and explore this world.

What time she had left was mostly spent simply training or doing nothing.

So when Alice suddenly suggested the option of eating an Outer God, Alyss couldn’t hold back her thoughts.

’What are you on about? Did you get hit in the head? Why would I of all people eat and Outer God???’ A rapid fire response that almost blew Alice away.

[Let’s hear her out. She won’t say something stu-] Cayla cut herself off, pursed her lips then continued.

’You stopped yourself! Why?! I don’t say stupid things in the face of death!’ Alice creased her brows but Cayla only gave her a ’sure’ look. As if she didn’t believe her at all.

Alyss flicked her gaze between Cayla and Alice.

In the end, she had a face of pure disgust and let out a groan.

’I’m... willing to listen.’

She won’t outright dismiss it. But that didn’t mean she was willing to accept it without any questions.

A disgusting mutated mass of flesh that kept twitching and bulging.

Just looking at the collection of muscle whipping around the entity made Alyss twist her face in revulsion.

I’ll be honest, I’m not the best when it comes to Outer God stuff.’ Alice admitted while ignoring the outside situation.

She was still charging her arrow while Oth’Zeruun was transforming his vessel, confusion in his mind as he wondered why Alice hadn’t attacked yet. Regardless, the longer this took, the better it was for him.

’However, the same can’t be said for you, twinnie.’ Alice smiled confidently.

’Like Abyss energy is to me, Eldritch energy is something you can use much better than me. The fact that Velouria’s chains mostly restrict you is a clear indications of that. Not because Velouria dislike you but rather because of the energy you can govern. So if you have that in mind...’

Alyss furrowed her brows, not liking where Alice was guiding things.

’Doesn’t it make sense for you to use Eldritch authority if you ate it?’

’I don’t think it’s quite that simple...’ Alyss wanted to sob.

Why did Alice want her to eat the Outer so badly???

But seeing her expectant gaze, Alyss couldn’t say no! It’s also not like her suggestion had no foundation to work with.

Golden chains snapped around Alice’s body as Alyss took over.

Her bloodshot eyes glared at the Outer.

"Fine! I’ll do it! I’ll f*cking do it! I swear if this doesn’t work, I’m going to have a long hard talk with you Alice!" Alyss shouted.

Firing the bow without hesitation, Leon surged forward, aiming to break the tether connection.

The moment the arrow was fired, the ground shattered around her but Alyss didn’t care.

Movement skills were some of her best masteries!

Stomping down with her ankle, Alyss glared at the Outer with her eyes wide, refused to miss a single movement.

"Sorry Ruby, your aunt might be a bit rough since I’m not delicate like your mom!"

*RUMBLE!!!

Alyss’s body turned into a blur.

The wind dragged her hair back.

Her eyes captured the Outer trying to counter her movements while fending off Leon’s attack.

Veins bulged around Alyss’s neck.

The moment she slowed down for a second, Oth’Zeruun attacked with a mass of flesh.

’His defences are tough. My movements are clear as day for him. I need to be faster without compromising on Leon’s ability.’ Alyss thought to herself.

Discard strength, focus purely on speed.

What she needed to do right now was to ’eat’ the enemy not destroy his guard.

Unleashing a jab at the Outer’s stomach, Alyss disappeared before tendrils could capture her.

Right as the attack missed, another jab came from above.

The force of the punch caused Oth’Zeruun’s body to sway and before he could recover, another punch forced him to look to the other side.

Alyss was landing attacks but none were dealing damage to the Outer.

The only thing it achieved was to annoy him.

However, with Leon hard focusing on the tether, Oth’Zeruun couldn’t divert much of his attention away.

Thankfully, keeping up with the ever shifting world around them was now easy with Cayla’s synchronisation with Velouria’s blessing.

Though...

Alyss had yet to make a move in terms of ’eating’.

The main reason was still just hesitation.

Seeing the disgusting mass of flesh up close, Alyss found herself struggling to overcome the mental barrier.

’Are you serious?! You want me to eat this?! THIS?!’ Alyss complained in her mind.

In response, Alice simply looked at her and nodded.

Feeling wronged, Alyss glanced at the flesh once more.

Even if the ’food’ tasted good, the visual appearance prevented her from entering the mindset needed to eat this thing.

She really didn’t want to do it!

Her moment of hesitation caused Oth’Zeruun to catch up as her eyes widened.

She wanted to move locations but the options were limited and whatever was available was likely a trap.

Clicking her tongue, Alyss stomped down with her foot.

Her shadow sizzled and morphed.

Arms broke free and caught the tendrils as the shadow seemed to come Alive. ℯℯ𝑙.

Alyss leaned back without hesitation, diving into her own shadow before being spat back out a little further away from the outer.

Flicking her finger, she activated the ’bomb’ she left behind.

An explosion of golden chains lashed out as Oth’Zeruun recoiled back. He let out a slight hiss of pain while flaming meteors and frozen spikes rushed towards her.

Glaring in annoyance, Alyss swiped with her hand as a black shadow maw lunged out, crushing the attacks with its jaw.

’Who knows, it might taste like noodles.’ Alice encouraged from behind.

’Hush it!’

Readying her mind, Alyss glanced at the Outer with a complicated expression.

A path was opened in front of her.

Following this should be easy.

All she had to do was open her mouth and take a bite.

Even if she loses a couple of limbs for it, it’s nothing that Alice’s regeneration couldn’t fix.

Not only that, but the benefits she could potentially gain from doing this was...

Hard to give up.

Not only that, but the flesh she ate was one that’s been tainted by a Major Idol!

It felt like she had just tasted slimy worms with nothing but rotten guts inside them while they were covered by a layer of filthy socks soaked in sweat and other disgusting liquids then left out to dry.

Everything about what she just ate rubbed her the wrong way and the same could be said for the power that flowed through her body.
