Chapter 1145: Alice’s Taunting

Between Alyss and Alice, when it came to pure energy control and manipulating their innate traits, Alice was naturally the best one between them.

In comparison, Alyss had to admit that she was a bit of an ape when it comes to fighting.

First, one must ask what differentiates man from beasts.

In her opinion, that is the ability to make use of tools.

Beasts use their bare fists claws and other natural weapons to fight and survive.

But man revolutionised tools to make their life easier.

A sign of intelligence.

So for Alyss, who could only really fight well with her hands and feet, she saw herself as a bit of a primitive ape that could only punch and kick.

Who wouldn’t want to wave their hand and breathe new laws into this world? To stand above the rest on the battlefield, looking down on it like a God.

A single wave and countless attacks fall like the heavens denied their existence.

But that wasn’t Alyss.

She was simply put, in her own words, a strong ape.

One that can lash around wildly and kill many. Not quite at the level of a natural calamity but still powerful regardless.

However, in this moment, having tasted the disgusting flesh of the Outer God, Alyss felt her perception shift.

Like the first human discovering fire, Alyss found herself in a state of wonder.

Well...

Wonder wasn’t exactly accurate as the disgusting nature of Eldritch energy hadn’t changed.

Rather, she could now see exactly how much this world had been tainted and how much Velouria’s barrier had kept out.

A simple gesture of closing her eyes was enough for her to realise how much Eldritch energy was surrounding their world.

A blanket of darkness trying to pry its way in yet a shimmering veil of gold barred its entry.

Exhaling softly, Alyss looked down at her hand.

This surging Eldritch energy...

She’ll put it to good use!

*RUMBLE!!!

Alyss’s hair flared up as dark tendrils of light swarmed around her body.

A vortex of corruption that destroyed the surroundings.

Wind howled like anguished cries, dust clouds veiled her form.

Two shimmering beads of light broke through the veil. Even in this darkness, Alyss’s eyes glowed menacingly.

Crimson stars that radiated a dark omen.

Oth’Zeruun felt a chill.

*BANG!!!

Alyss disappeared and a fist print appeared in his chest.

A cavity that opened without warning.

"!!!"

Widening his eyes, Oth’Zeruun whipped his gaze around yet couldn’t find Alyss.

"So this is what you meant by concealment. Jeez, in your eyes, we were just flailing around like an animal weren’t we?" Alyss’s cold voice echoed out.

Corruption hissed around Oth’Zeruun’s body as more of his power was injected into the vessel.

Yet to his shock, a silhouette appeared above him.

Alice with her white hair fluttering behind her. A cheeky grin while spider lily patterns sprawled across her dress.

"Hiya~ Let’s not get any bigger shall we? It would be a pain after all." Alice winked.

Question marks appeared above Oth’Zeruun’s head momentarily before pain shot through his body.

"ARGH!!!" A cry of anger and bewilderment.

Golden spears appeared out of thin air, piercing his body and limbs.

Flicking her fingers, Alice danced through the air as golden chains wrapped around Oth’Zeruun’s body, keeping from escape.

Black smoke hissed from his skin, Velouria’s blessing burning away at his vessel.

However, since Alice was here, he could focus everything on her!

Cracking open his mouth, a tsunami of corruption lunged out in the form of a tangled mess of flesh and bone.

But Alice only smiled.

Snapping her finger, the space around her started to distort and twist. The attacks that Oth’Zeruun sent towards her was diverted else where.

Yet Oth’Zeruun wasn’t disappointed.

After all, the main attack was hidden within the cluster! Even if she warped space, so what?

"Die!" Oth’Zeruun hissed with glee as reality ruptured with a single line being drawn across the world.

"!!!"

Widening her eyes, Alice froze as black blood seeped from her lips.

Her pupils trembled as she glanced down.

Her chest had been pierced.

"Urg..."

"HA!-...?" Oth’Zeruun’s laugh echoed out before pausing.

Alice grinned.

"Just kidding~" Sliding to the side, Alice easily stepped away from the thorn that Oth’Zeruun shot out, much to her confusion.

Like a magician, Alice lifted one arm then waved it clock wise. Every time it passed a certain point, an after image would be left behind.

Bringing her hand to her face, Alice covered half of her face and looked left. Then she covered the left and looked right.

"Tada~ You get to see two of me’s today~" Bringing her hand down in the motion of ’unzipping’ a coat, two Alice’s split apart from one another.

As the two of them faced one another, they pressed their palms together and looked at Oth’Zeruun who was filled with confusion.

"Boo~" Scattering her body into countless spider lilies that fell from the sky, each one suddenly transformed into a fragment of Helena as needles pierced Oth’Zeruun’s body!

"ARGH!!!!" Letting out a cry from the unexpected attack, veins bulged across Oth’Zeruun’s body.

*RUMBLE!!!

Reality fractured as countless eyes split across the sky. Black blood fell from above and in an instant, every single eyeball twitched and locked onto Alice’s body.

"Woah! Freaky much. I know I’m the cutest tiny thing you’ve ever set you eyes on but this is a bit too much don’t you think? If you stare too much, I’ll have to charge!" Alice grinned.

Snapping both fingers, golden flames danced around her.

And as these flames condensed into motes, Alice brought her lips together.

"Bang~"

With her command, every single node erupted with an obscene amount of energy, transforming into spikes that pierced every single eyeball that opened in the sky before detonating.

Space collapsed and the eyes were forced to close.

Black spears burst from the ground as flesh mounds loaded them like cannons before firing.

Dodging most of the spears, one spear was exceptionally fast.

However...

*CLANG!!!

Seized by an invisible force, the spear was frozen in the sky as Alice tapped her foot against its sharp edge.

"Uwa~ A little sloppy for a Major Idol don’t you think?" Alice winked, her golden eye staring at Oth’Zeruun who was trying to evade her gaze.

"Come on, try a bit harder. Where is your pride? You sounded awfully confident before. Where did that go? Or what? Now that the spot light is on you, you’re nothing but a shivering rat with a weird coat?" Alice mocked the Outer with a laugh as the annoying tone of her voice was something that even an Outer couldn’t handle.

"Come on~ Come on~ Struggling to hit me? A tiny kid who has lived a fraction of your life." There was a smug smile on Alice’s face as she struck a pose in mid air.

*CRACK SHATTER!!!

A set of teeth broke through reality, slamming shut where Alice was and yet Oth’Zeruun didn’t’ smile.

Alice didn’t die.

"How pervy~ Did you think that slimy thing was going to get me? Uwah~ You’re giving me goosebumps you know? Disgusting! Creepy! Did you want to see me covered in the weird salvia? Ewww~"

Alice stuck out her tongue as her eyes narrowed.

Losing her smile for a moment, Leon appeared in her hands as her gaze sharpened.

Void Axis!

*KRK!!!!

A high pitched ring rippled out as the beast was cut in half.

"If you want to hurt someone you have to do something like this you know?" Alice giggled.

*PUCHI!!!

Unable to accept this mockery any longer, Oth’Zeruun slammed both hands into the ground as he stopped caring about the durability of this vessel.

If the girl wanted fire power then so be it!

A conceptual attack! That’s what he needed.

One to bypass this strange defence. An attack that didn’t care about the stability of the vessel or the world they reside in.

Spikes burst out of the beast’s body, not because it wanted to attack Alice but because it wanted to anchor itself down to take aim.

In this moment, Alice’s instincts screamed.

A warning that she couldn’t avoid.

Like a giant pillar falling towards her, even if she was to try run side ways, she wouldn’t be able to escape from under its shadow.

No matter where she ran, this attack will hit!

’Sh*t... It’s a conceptual attack like Leon. Guaranteed to hit no matter what.’ Alice’s smile twitched.

She had played with fire a little too much and now she was going to get burned.

As the beast split in two, energy converged towards its mouth.

Even if she was to unleash the strongest attack she could right now, Alice had a feeling that it wouldn’t work.

Energy, space, reality itself was warping around the attack.

Whatever she fired towards it would only fuel the next blast.

However...

Though she was worried, it wasn’t as though she didn’t have a plan.

"Twinnie! It’s your time to shine right?" Alice snapped her finger.

"T-Twinnie?"

"Alyss? Alyss??? You can’t do this to me right?" Alice stuttered as sweat rolled down her face.

"T-this was your plan! You told me to distract her long enough okay! This is getting real dangerous!!!"

Her cries only made Oth’Zeruun narrow his eyes.

When targeting Alice, he had already accounted for the souls inside her body. Even if they switch, the targeting won’t miss!

Just as he was about to fire and Alice hastily projected futile defences, a voice echoed out.

"That’ll teach you to feed me disgusting sh*t. But setting that aside, I finally found it. Destruction point wasn’t working properly but I finally found you."

"!!!"

By the time he heard this, it was already too late.

Reality peeled away, Alyss was right behind Oth’Zeruun.

Alice and Alyss had split apart! The illusion of Alice’s body mixed with the Eldritch authority of concealment made the disguise better than ever.

Even so, she had to ensure that Alice kept Oth’Zeruun distracted properly or else this plan wouldn’t work.

But as expected, Alice’s taunting wasn’t something that could be underestimated. Hearing the things she said, even Alyss felt like she would bust a vein trying to calm herself down.

Regardless, she had been waiting for this moment.

Her attack was fully charged, target locked.

Oth’Zeruun had discarded his defence.

With a core this vulnerable to her strike, how could she hold back?
