Chapter 493: Chapter 20: Kill Him

ROAR!!

The vicious and brutal beastly roar echoed across the wilderness. The invisible black mist of spiritual energy was akin to a tangible physical force, warping reality itself.

“A Beast… a Beast King?”

They watched as “Ao’Er” was sent flying backward, shattering the wall and disappearing into the night. The surrounding warlord commanders looked as if they had been struck by a heavy blow; their faces were deathly pale, and some even collapsed to the ground, bleeding from their facial orifices.

Yan Zhengfeng and the others wore expressions of shock and suspicion, instinctively looking toward the two crimson vertical pupils rising from within the black mist. Tyrannical, fierce, and cruel… The aura unique to a Beast King spread in all directions, suffocating them with its oppressive weight.

Never in their wildest dreams did they imagine that Ghost Element, which they had previously thought to be an ordinary Cat Beast, would turn out to be an exceptionally powerful Wild Beast King. Ji Lanhua, the only female assistant on this trip, was especially astonished. Bizarre emotions welled up inside her.

“I actually hugged a Beast King?” she thought.

BOOM!!

The thunderous noise interrupted everyone’s thoughts. Ghost Element unleashed another Spiritual Shock, blasting through the air and shattering the stone walls in its path as it hurtled straight toward Ao’Er in the distant darkness. The stone blockhouse, already riddled with cracks, shook and swayed as if it were about to collapse.

Lu Weilong, who was being besieged by Lu Chao and Chen Junhao, finally snapped back to reality. He pulled back to create some distance, casting a wary and shocked glance at Lu Chao.

“You actually managed to tame a Beast King?”

He had, of course, recognized Ghost Element as the Mutant Beast that Lu Chao had originally brought with him. A flash of surprise also crossed Chen Junhao’s eyes. Even though he was collaborating with Lu Chao, he hadn’t expected his partner to hide such a trump card.

“Kill him,” Lu Chao ordered coldly.

CLANG!!

Following his icy command, the ringing of a blade pierced the sky. Hearing this, Chen Junhao composed himself and nodded.

WHOOSH!!

As he took a deep breath, the flames covering his body abruptly compressed, turning into a much deeper crimson.

BOOM!!

A pillar of fire suddenly erupted, wrapping around his fist’s momentum as it blasted forward. The temperature inside the stone building spiked instantly. A terrifying heat raged, distorting and evaporating everything in its path.

Yan Zhengfeng and the others’ pupils contracted at the sight. Bearing the brunt of the attack, Lu Weilong narrowed his eyes, furrowed his brows, and thrust his palm out to meet it.

BANG!!

The scorching crimson flames violently collided with the silver Qi Flame. The resulting shockwave plowed through the ground, causing the stone building to completely collapse. The falling stone slabs and walls shattered in the aftermath, some even melting from the extreme heat. Yan Zhengfeng and the others paled, hastily dodging and backing away.

SWISH!!

In that very moment, Lu Chao’s eyes gleamed as he drew his blade and dashed forward. The black light of the blade resembled a moving crescent moon, tearing through all the falling slabs and debris in its path before reaching Lu Weilong in the blink of an eye. The momentum of a collapsing mountain was imbued into the edge of the blade. The already caving ground shuddered with a CRACK, fractured directly by the sheer vibration of the blade’s aura.

“Get lost!!” Lu Weilong furiously roared, having caught the attack from the corner of his eye.

His silver Qi Flame flowed like liquid, gathering on his armored left arm, and struck forward with the force of a frenzied dragon.

CLANG!!

The blade was blocked, sending sparks flying. The screech of clashing metal echoed in all directions. The black Ink Blade bent slightly, as if bearing an unimaginably heavy counterattack.

CRACK, CRACK. Continuous fracturing sounds came from the ground as the foundation of the entire stone building tilted and caved in. Lu Weilong lived up to the title of Transcendence Level. Despite the immense pressure, he stood firmly in place, his feet stomping shallow craters into the ground without yielding an inch.

Seeing this, Lu Chao’s gaze hardened, and he suddenly unleashed a Martial Skill.

BOOM!!

He forcefully activated the Thunder Extreme Secret Skill. All of his vitality and blood were stimulated, surging through his acupoints. [Adrenaline] was simultaneously triggered, instantly propelling him into a Frenzy State and causing his combat power to soar.

CLANG!!

The Ink Blade vibrated, capitalizing on the momentum to push his opponent backward, crashing through the ruined walls of the stone building. The sudden eruption of imposing aura and surge in combat power caught Lu Weilong off guard. His center of gravity wavered, forcing him to retreat step by step, crushing the earth beneath his feet with every move.

Gusts of cold wind blew against them. Meanwhile, battle cries surged into the Mountain City, converging continuously and resonating deep within their hearts. The warlord’s soldiers in the camp were already in complete chaos, fleeing in all directions. From time to time, pickup trucks were hit by stray bullets and exploded on the spot.

Lu Weilong’s brief distraction exposed a flaw in his defense.

Seizing this opportunity, Chen Junhao dashed in pursuit and planted his feet firmly with a loud THUD!! The concrete ground beneath him melted and scorched black.

Flames flickered in his cold, calm eyes. Regardless of the cost, he frantically squeezed out every last Flame Factor from his cells.

BOOM!!

In a split second, he threw a punch with his right arm. The eruption of flames from his elbow acted like a thruster, creating a powerful propulsive force that magnified his strength. Scorching flames gathered simultaneously within his Fist Seal. He intended to use this strike to pierce right through Lu Weilong’s Qi Flame defense and his alloy inner armor.

WHOOSH! WHOOSH!!

Gale-force winds howled as he moved to settle the battle with a single punch.

“Ignorant!” Lu Weilong abruptly snapped back to attention and stabilized his footing.

Meeting his sneering gaze, Chen Junhao saw the man’s Qi Flame rapidly contract and surge back.

BUZZ! BOOM!!!

Qi Explosion Skill!

Chen Junhao looked as if he had been struck by a massive sledgehammer and was sent flying violently backward.

BANG! BANG! BANG!

Amidst the violent crashes, he was like an out-of-control fiery shooting star, smashing through the pickup trucks and concrete walls in the Red River Army’s camp and skidding back for a dozen meters.

Even Lu Chao, who had charged in with his blade, was forced back by the shockwave, sliding backward step by step. With every step, he crushed the earth and blasted out shallow pits. He plunged the black Ink Blade into the ground, plowing a thin, seven- or eight-meter-long trench to stop his momentum.

“Qi Explosion…” he muttered with a frown, looking across the battlefield.

In the distance, Yan Zhengfeng—who had retreated to safety—and the other warlord commanders who had recovered and escaped the stone building all looked over with shock and uncertainty in their eyes.

In the dark of the night, silver Qi Flame swirled upward, resembling a bright moon. Lu Weilong still stood steadfast in his original position, surrounded by swirling silver cloud streams. His Qi Flame momentarily flickered and turned somewhat ethereal, before gradually solidifying back into a liquid state.
