Chapter 1526: Chapter 47: Joining (Part 3)

Germany is a "barbarian," the United States is an "upstart," and East Africa is a collection of "barbarian and upstart"; of course, East Africa is not the most "miserable," as behind East Africa are countries like Japan and Russia.

The wealthy suppressing and belittling the newly wealthy and those not yet wealthy is an unavoidable issue regarding human nature and interests.

Compared to a legitimate "newly wealthy" country like East Africa, even the United States, Germany, and Russia belong to the "already wealthy" category. However, Russia has been automatically classified as an "enemy" by countries worldwide due to the Labor Party, and undoubtedly, all kinds of vile tactics will be used against Russia.

After all, if a late-developing country like East Africa can become wealthy, naturally some countries will suffer loss of interests, as East African industrial development also represents a loss to other industrial nations’ interests.

Although East Africa has become the world’s largest industrial nation, as the "International Community" claims, East Africa is indeed an upstart, and its wealth has not yet translated into influence and status to be thoroughly accepted by the so-called international community.

This is like the old European nobility looking down on newly risen nobility in the past. Of course, if you are not even a noble, then you’ll simply be looked down upon by both the old and new nobility, without even the chance for discussion.

Therefore, the current negative publicity against East Africa in international opinion is, to some extent, a kind of "commendation." This is precisely the problem that East Africa is bound to encounter once industrial and national strength reaches a certain level. Being controversial is also recognition; many weak and poor countries don’t even have such opportunities.

After summarizing the opinions of both sides, Ernst said, "Regarding the International League, I also have some thoughts of my own."

"At present, East Africa is indeed a late-developing country for the International Community, and late-developing countries are bound to face numerous tests. We can’t change the disadvantages of our international image and soft power in a short period."

"All of this depends on our own efforts. As long as we do more and work hard enough, we can continuously make progress, and eventually, other countries in the world will get used to East Africa as a great power, a fact that cannot be changed."

"In the upcoming period, we should further strengthen our construction in diplomacy, cultural exchange, foreign trade, international organizations, and activities, continuously enhancing and changing East Africa’s image and influence in the world, breaking the traditional domination of world opinion by Europe and America, and enhancing East Africa’s voice in the international community."

"Based on this requirement, my attitude towards the International League is that we can join first, and as for the subsequent impact, we can choose to wait and see."

"After all, the International League cannot significantly affect our national policy, which to some extent can break some malicious countries’ conspiracies against the Empire, thereby isolating the Empire in the international community."

Since East Africa’s military strength and influence have not yet reached a certain level, joining the League of Nations is beneficial in reducing unnecessary troubles, such as being targeted by other countries. Of course, if the United States chooses not to join the League of Nations, that would be even better.

Of course, although East Africa intends to join the League of Nations, it is only a temporary observation. If the differences with East Africa are too significant, East Africa would not mind voluntarily withdrawing like Germany and Japan did in the past.
