Chapter 107: Sierra, So Clingy With Your Big Brother?
Chapter 107: Chapter 107: Sierra, So Clingy With Your Big Brother?
Sienna Everett was a nervous wreck.
’I thought he didn’t like this outfit, but it turns out this was the issue.’
"Oh, so that’s what you want to know?" Sienna Everett’s eyes arched playfully. She clasped her hands behind her back, looking like a cunning little fox brewing some mischief.
"Alright, you first tell me what birthday gift Keith Sterling just gave you, and I’ll tell you if Kian designed this outfit."
Julian Forrester raised an eyebrow at her words but didn’t speak.
Sienna Everett was dying of curiosity, bargaining with him relentlessly. "This is a fair trade, no one loses out, okay? You go first. What did Keith Sterling get you?"
The man seemed moved by her words and beckoned her over.
Sienna Everett immediately leaned in eagerly, her ears practically perked up.
But in the next moment, the man’s thin lips curled slightly. His lazy tone was laced with teasing as he said, "It’s late, baby. Go wash up and go to sleep."
Sienna Everett: "???"
’What?’
’Wash up and go to sleep?’
Sienna Everett was so stunned she didn’t even notice him calling her "baby" at first. She stared with wide, unbelieving eyes. "You don’t want to know about the clothes anymore? How can you have zero curiosity? I’m so disappointed in you, Julian Forrester!"
Her face was fair, her eyes slightly rounded. She was impossibly cute.
The man let out a muffled laugh. His Adam’s apple bobbed gently, and a voice laced with a lazy smile rumbled from his throat, as alluring as could be.
"Sierra, anything I want to know, I can find out."
...Fine.
Sienna Everett gritted her teeth and took a deep breath. "Let me tell you, this is Kian’s first time designing menswear. His very first design is for you. Aren’t you touched?"
Julian Forrester was languid, moved only by Sienna Everett’s actions. "I’m very touched that *you* gave me clothes."
Sienna Everett immediately seized the opportunity. "If you’re so touched, then why don’t you hurry up and tell me what Keith Sterling gave you?"
He shot her a sidelong glance. "You want to know that badly?"
Sienna Everett nodded her little head rapidly.
He let out a lazy "Oh." "Is that so... Alright then. Call me ’big brother,’ and I’ll tell you."
Sienna Everett: "?"
"Not going to? Then I’m taking this away."
Julian Forrester picked up the gift box from Keith Sterling and started to take it upstairs, looking as if he didn’t want Sienna Everett to see it.
’This just makes me even more curious, doesn’t it?’
She held back for a few seconds but ultimately couldn’t resist. Her curiosity itching, she followed behind him.
Julian Forrester took a few steps, just setting foot on the stairs when he paused and turned around.
Seeing the little tail following behind him, he let out a casual, light laugh and asked, fully knowing the answer, "What’s the meaning of this, Sierra? So clingy with your big brother?"
Sienna Everett was so mad she wanted to give him a couple of good punches.
’This damn man is doing it on purpose!’
As her anger stewed, Sienna Everett’s eyes suddenly lit up. "I’ll just call Keith Sterling and ask him myself!"
’I’m such a little genius!’
Sienna Everett excitedly pulled out her phone.
Julian Forrester raised his eyebrows but didn’t make a sound or try to stop her. He leaned lazily against the staircase railing, one hand in his pocket, his posture impossibly relaxed and carefree.
Sienna Everett got through and asked Keith Sterling directly.
But that guy’s laugh was infuriatingly smug. "Sister-in-law, if you want to know, have my bro tell you~~ Hehehe~~"
Sienna Everett: "..."
’Great.’
Her curiosity was completely extinguished. Even if Julian Forrester offered to tell her now, she didn’t want to know anymore.
Sienna Everett hung up in a huff. Without even glancing at Julian Forrester, she started up the stairs.
As she passed the man, he suddenly grabbed her wrist.
Sienna Everett stubbornly kept her head high, refusing to look at him. In a stiff tone, she threw his own words right back at him: "It’s late. Go wash up and go to sleep."
Without another word or a look back, she continued up the stairs.
Julian Forrester’s eyebrow twitched slightly. He watched her retreating back and shook his head helplessly.
Only after Sienna Everett’s figure disappeared around the bend in the staircase did he lift his foot and continue on his way up.
He hadn’t taken two steps before Sienna Everett, who had already gone to her room, suddenly reappeared. She poked her little head out from the top of the stairs, looking at him, and said hesitantly, "Julian Forrester..."
Meeting her utterly adorable expression, he chuckled. "Hm?"
The two of them looked at each other from opposite ends of the staircase.
Sienna Everett licked her lips. "Um, do you want to make a wish for your birthday?"
He raised an eyebrow in question.
Sienna Everett scratched her head, looking rather embarrassed. "I made a small cake this afternoon. It didn’t turn out very well, so I was too embarrassed to bring it out... If you want to make a wish, you can make do with it. If not, then never mind."
They had already cut a cake at dinner earlier, but that was just a normal cake-cutting, without blowing out candles and making a wish.
’He’s an adult, so he probably doesn’t care about the whole childish routine of blowing out candles and making wishes. But I agonized over it for a long time and still decided to ask, just to see if he wanted to.’
Julian Forrester didn’t answer right away. He looked up at her quietly, his gaze traveling up the length of the stairs to land on Sienna Everett, a dark tide swirling in the depths of his eyes.
His eyelashes were long. The warm, magnificent light from the chandelier cast a faint shadow beneath his eyelids.
The lines of the man’s face, from his brow bone to his jaw, were refined and sharp, exuding an indescribable, handsome nobility. When he wasn’t smiling, he appeared cold and domineering, with a keep-your-distance aloofness.
Seeing him remain silent, Sienna Everett started to feel a little uncertain. "It’s fine if you don’t want to make a wish. I was just asking."
The corners of his lips curled up. His voice, tinged with a smile, drawled, "Of course your big brother wants the cake Sienna made with her own two hands."
Sienna Everett: "..."
「Three minutes later.」
Sienna Everett excitedly brought out the cake she had made and placed it on the dining table.
Of course she was happy to have someone appreciate her disastrous cooking skills.
But this cake... forgetting the decorations on top for a moment, even its shape was bizarre—an irregular polygon.
Sienna Everett put on a serious expression, her little face taut, and declared preemptively, "No laughing. I designed this shape on purpose."
Julian Forrester turned his face away but couldn’t hold back a laugh.
Humiliated and angry, Sienna Everett threatened, "If you laugh again, I’m not letting you eat it."
And then, he actually stopped laughing. "Okay."
Sienna Everett: "?"
’Does he want to eat it that badly?’
Sienna Everett couldn’t help but feel a little smug, her eyes curving into crescents. "You have good taste. This is the first time I’ve ever made a birthday cake for someone."
She really wasn’t very skilled in the kitchen, so she didn’t cook often.
She stuck candles in the cake and turned off the dining room lights.
The orange candlelight flickered gently. Julian Forrester turned his eyes to look at her.
An inexplicable excitement began to bubble up inside Sienna Everett.
Ever since she returned to the Everett Family two years ago, she hadn’t celebrated her own birthday. The Everetts only celebrated Shannon Everett’s birthday, not hers.
After so long, celebrating Julian Forrester’s birthday today brought back a long-lost feeling—the kind of anticipation for a birthday she used to have as a child.
Sienna Everett’s eyes sparkled like brilliant starlight. "Go on, make a wish."
The man closed his eyes, his long, distinct lashes casting shadows. In the candlelight, the tips of his lashes seemed to be dotted with flowing light. He was so devastatingly handsome, it made one’s heart skip a beat.
Sienna Everett had thought he was going to make a proper wish, but he opened his eyes in less than two seconds.
’I seriously doubt he even made one.’
Sienna Everett froze for a second, then quickly leaned over to help him blow out the candles. "What did you wish for just now?" she asked curiously. "That was so fast."
