Chapter 155: Chapter 155: Filthy Words

Sienna Everett was stunned for a long moment before it suddenly dawned on her. ’Is this the surprise Keith Sterling was talking about?’

At that moment, everyone in the audience—from A-list actors and actresses to business tycoons and socialites—craned their necks, forgetting all about their public image as they stared at the stage.

Julian Forrester strode onto the stage in a perfectly tailored black suit, his long legs carrying him with purpose. The top button of his white shirt was meticulously fastened, giving him an air of restrained yet powerful sex appeal.

His gaze swept casually over the audience. His devastatingly handsome face held a hint of indifference and detachment, radiating the innate nobility and commanding presence of someone in power.

Then his eyes landed on a certain spot in the audience, and his gaze froze. A lazy, casual smile bloomed in his handsome, almond-shaped eyes.

Sienna Everett, who was sitting right there, suddenly realized Julian Forrester was looking at her.

They were only looking at each other from a distance, separated by the crowd.

Yet, Sienna Everett’s heart suddenly began to race. This stolen glance across the crowd created a strange sense of secret intimacy, and her earlobes betrayed her by turning hot.

Flustered, Sienna Everett quickly looked away.

By the time she had calmed down, she could hear the entire venue buzzing with excitement. This was especially true for the two young women in the row behind her; you could tell how thrilled they were just from the sound of their voices.

"Aaaah! Mr. Forrester is so handsome! Seriously, so handsome!"

"He looked down at the audience just now, right?! And he smiled, didn’t he?! Was he looking in our direction?!"

"I’m dying, how can anyone be that handsome! I’d love to wrap my legs around that waist!"

Sienna Everett heard every last one of their thirsty comments and shot a glance at Julian Forrester on the stage.

’He really is something,’ she thought. ’He attracts admirers wherever he goes.’

Suddenly, Isabelle Sutton, who was sitting next to her, grabbed her arm.

Isabelle whispered excitedly, "Sienna, a guy as handsome as Mr. Forrester must have a girlfriend, right? Someone photographed him at an amusement park with a woman before. I wonder if she’s his girlfriend!"

Sienna Everett, the very woman photographed with Julian Forrester at the amusement park: "..."

Nearby, Evan Shelby watched Julian Forrester on stage and raised an eyebrow. ’So that’s Sienna Everett’s child husband, huh?’

’Not bad,’ he mused. ’Based on looks alone, he’s a good match for Sienna Everett.’

As for Ian Prescott, his expression was rather cold.

’Heh. So this is the man Sienna Everett is marrying.’

The feeling of his own sister, his little Sparkle, being stolen away surfaced once again.

It left Ian Prescott feeling rather displeased.

Julian Forrester gave a brief speech on stage about philanthropy and charity, then was respectfully led by a staff member to a seat in the center of the front row.

Given his status and position, it was the only seat he could possibly take.

Sienna Everett, seated in the second row, glanced at Julian Forrester not far away. She tugged on Keith Sterling’s arm, who was on her left, and whispered, "Why is your brother here? And why didn’t you tell me beforehand?"

Keith Sterling chuckled. "I wanted to give you a surprise! So? Are you pleasantly surprised?"

Sienna Everett deadpanned, "More like shocked. Thanks a lot."

Next up was the charity auction.

The celebrities in attendance had each submitted a personal item to be auctioned by the organizers, with the final sale price counting as that star’s personal donation.

Isabelle Sutton had prepared a diamond necklace. The bidding started at 10,000 and it was sold to a wealthy tycoon for 800,000.

Typically, the bids at such auctions didn’t get too high. People knew when to stop, since the point, after all, wasn’t to flaunt one’s wealth.

Orion Hawthorne had offered up an antique trinket he’d bought while traveling abroad. The bidding also started at 10,000, and it was bought by a young socialite for two million.

The host invited Orion Hawthorne to the stage to present the antique to the socialite, who was wearing an ice-blue gown.

The young woman’s surname was Garrison.

To liven up the atmosphere, the host casually remarked, "Miss Garrison, you haven’t bid on anything until now, yet you went out of your way to win Orion’s little antique. It seems you really like it."

Yvette Garrison was tall and beautiful. She lifted a slender, pale wrist and flirtatiously tucked a strand of hair behind her ear.

"Not really. I bought this little antique simply because I really like Orion Hawthorne, so I bought his item."

The moment the host heard this, he immediately turned to Orion Hawthorne, his eyes alight with gossip.

’From the sound of it, did Yvette and Orion already know each other?’ he wondered.

Orion Hawthorne’s expression remained indifferent. He glanced at Yvette, a flicker of impatience in his defiant eyes, and deliberately misinterpreted her words. "Thank you for liking this antique."

Yvette Garrison didn’t seem to mind. She curled her red lips into a bewitching smile. "I know you heard me."

Orion Hawthorne said nothing more, not even sparing Yvette another glance.

The host immediately put his social skills to good use, making a few witty remarks to smooth over the awkward moment.

Orion Hawthorne left the stage and returned to his seat.

Sienna Everett gave him a gossipy look. "Wooow~"

Keith Sterling, even more eager for gossip than Sienna, chimed in, "Wooow~"

Isabelle Sutton followed suit, adding her own gossipy, "Wooow~"

Orion Hawthorne: "..."

’Are these three a bunch of gossiping parrots?!’

A vein throbbed in Orion Hawthorne’s temple. He shot them a glare, his wild, silver bangs framing his face, and hissed, "What are you all getting so worked up about?!"

Even though he had lowered his voice, it was still a little too loud.

Ian Prescott and Evan Shelby also glanced over, their curiosity piqued.

Sienna Everett suddenly understood Keith Sterling. ’Gossiping is actually really fun,’ she thought.

’Gossip about others, delight yourself!’

But a moment later, she noticed Julian Forrester, sitting in the front row, glance in her direction with an unreadable expression, as if he’d heard something.

Sienna Everett: "..."

’What are you looking at!’

The auction continued with items from several other celebrities.

Suddenly, Keith Sterling nudged Sienna Everett’s arm. She whispered, "What’s wrong?"

Keith Sterling’s eyes were fixed on something behind and to their right. "Look over there."

Sienna Everett followed his gaze and was surprised to see Morgan and Miles Everett.

She hadn’t seen Morgan in just a few days, but he looked as if he had aged more than a decade. Where he once had only a few gray hairs, now his hair was almost half white.

’I heard Sheila Whitaker is still in the hospital,’ she wondered. ’Why would Morgan and Miles Everett be at a charity gala?’

Sienna Everett shot them a single cold glance before looking away.

When Morgan Everett saw Sienna Everett, rage flared in his eyes. ’It’s all because of this wretch! She’s the one who brought the Everett Family to this state, so ruined that our family is falling apart!’

He thought of Sheila Whitaker in the hospital, of the missing Mason Everett, and of Wyatt and Dustin Everett who refused to come home.

At that moment, Morgan Everett wanted nothing more than to kill Sienna Everett!

Miles Everett patted Morgan Everett’s shoulder, his voice as gentle as ever. "Father, don’t dwell on it."

Morgan Everett forced himself to calm down and looked toward Julian Forrester in the center of the front row, his gaze turning earnest.

Morgan Everett hadn’t originally planned to attend this charity gala, but when he heard Julian Forrester would be present, he had rushed over immediately.

Normally, he never had the opportunity to even get a meeting with Julian Forrester, but now he could finally see him in person.

Morgan Everett’s main purpose today was to secure an investment from the Forresterer Family.

The Everett Family was currently on the brink of bankruptcy. If he could persuade Julian Forrester to invest, they might still have a chance to be brought back from the dead.

Previously, Mason had tried to win over Kian, never imagining that Sienna Everett herself was Kian, which turned into a massive joke.

This time, as Morgan Everett came to win over Julian Forrester, he was utterly convinced of one thing: a man like Julian Forrester could not possibly have any connection to Sienna Everett!
