Chapter 154: Chapter 154: Sienna, You Are Not an Everett

However, just as Ian Prescott raised his hand and reached for Sienna Everett.

Sienna Everett sensed his movement and deftly took a step back, her gaze full of suspicion. "What are you doing?"

Ian Prescott: "..."

’This is so damn awkward.’

Afraid that Sienna Everett would mistake him for a creep trying to take advantage of her, Ian Prescott quickly came up with an excuse. "There’s a smudge on your shoulder. You must have brushed against something. I was just trying to wipe it off for you."

"No need, I’ll do it myself." Sienna Everett, ever self-reliant, raised her own hand and brushed off her shoulder.

Ian Prescott dejectedly pulled his hand back, the corner of his eye catching a glimpse of the small gold lock in Sienna Everett’s hand.

Sienna Everett’s birthday seemed to be engraved on the golden lock.

Ian Prescott paused, then asked meaningfully, "Sienna, have you ever considered that you might not actually be one of the Everetts?"

Sienna Everett froze at his words and lowered her gaze. "I have."

A faint glint appeared in Ian Prescott’s eyes.

Sienna Everett gave a bitter laugh, her voice so low it felt as if the night wind could carry it away at any moment. "Unfortunately, I’ve had a DNA test done with Morgan Everett. It showed a paternal match."

She’d had it done three times, and each time, it confirmed they were father and daughter.

Even though she detested the Everetts, biologically speaking, they were her blood relatives.

The blood of the Everett Family, the family she despised most, flowed through her veins.

Ian Prescott couldn’t help but furrow his brows. The Sienna Everett before him looked so lonely, like a piece of clear, fragile glass on the verge of shattering.

A poignant pang of tenderness welled up in Ian Prescott’s heart, and with it, an urge to protect her.

Just then, someone called Sienna Everett’s name from behind them.

"Sierra! What are you doing here?"

Sienna Everett turned to see Keith Sterling and Evan Shelby.

Sienna Everett raised an eyebrow with amusement. "What are you two doing together?"

Keith Sterling immediately put on a disgusted face, stepping away from Evan Shelby and running up to Sienna Everett. "What do you mean, ’together’? I just happened to run into Evan outside. Who knew he was also coming to the charity gala."

Evan Shelby sauntered over. His mixed-heritage features were strikingly sharp, and his blue eyes were as captivating as the ocean. He looked at Keith Sterling with amusement. "What’s the matter? You can come, but I can’t?"

Keith Sterling didn’t want to waste his breath on him, his gaze subtly sizing up Ian Prescott, who was standing to the side.

Ian Prescott let him look, a hint of amusement touching his lips.

He knew, of course, that Keith Sterling was the younger brother of Sienna’s fiancé.

Sienna Everett looked at Evan Shelby and asked, "What’s the story? Why are you at the charity gala?"

Evan Shelby shrugged. "I made a large donation on behalf of G.Y., so I was invited."

Sienna Everett: "..."

Evan Shelby glanced at Ian Prescott, discreetly sizing him up. "Long time no see."

Ian Prescott smiled faintly. "Long time no see? We just saw each other last year, though you were beaten black and blue back then."

Evan Shelby: "..."

’Last year... just saw each other...’

’Beaten... black and blue...’

’That wily old fox, the second Prescott son!’

Watching this unfold, Sienna Everett suddenly understood why Evan Shelby had said Ian Prescott was not to be trifled with.

’But he seems pretty easy to handle when he’s around me.’

Keith Sterling raised an eyebrow slightly. ’This Ian Prescott guy is pretty interesting,’ he thought.

’That’s right. Anyone who can bully Evan Shelby is an interesting person!’

Just as Keith Sterling was enjoying the show, Ian Prescott suddenly looked over at him.

Ian Prescott’s deep eyes seemed to see right through him, as if he knew he was spectating.

But Ian Prescott didn’t call him out, instead smiling enigmatically. "First time we’re meeting. Hello there, Little Brother Keith."

Keith Sterling: "?"

’Little... Brother Keith???’

Keith Sterling’s mouth twitched. ’Who are you calling little! Who’s your brother!’

Sienna Everett watched as Ian Prescott effortlessly took on two people while smiling and chatting. She quickly cleared her throat and turned to Keith Sterling. "You came to the charity gala too?"

Keith Sterling ignored Ian Prescott and turned to Sienna Everett excitedly, winking his left eye mysteriously. "Sierra, let me tell you ahead of time, there’s a surprise coming up at the gala~~"

Sienna Everett was baffled. "What surprise?"

Keith Sterling deliberately kept her in suspense. "You’ll find out soon enough!"

Sienna Everett: "..."

A short while later, the charity gala began.

The attendees included not only celebrities from the entertainment industry but also elite tycoons from the business world and various socialites and heiresses. The event was bustling with excitement.

Just as Sienna Everett walked into the banquet hall, she spotted Maxwell Sawyer not far away.

’He was invited to the charity gala too?’

Remembering Keith Sterling’s claim that Maxwell Sawyer had a crush on her, Sienna Everett rubbed her aching head and resolved once again to keep her distance from him.

Charity galas like this usually included an auction for donations.

Sienna Everett found the seat arranged for her by the organizers and sat down. To her left were Keith Sterling and Evan Shelby, and to her right were Isabelle Sutton and Orion Hawthorne. Ian Prescott sat to Evan Shelby’s left.

On stage, the host was speaking about charity and public welfare.

Then, the host announced with grand excitement, "It is a great honor that for today’s charity event, we have invited a top-tier special guest!"

’A special guest?’

’Top-tier?’

The audience’s curiosity was instantly piqued. ’Who could it be?’

The host’s face was flushed with excitement. "To be honest, when we first invited this guest, we didn’t expect to succeed. Given his status and standing, it was highly unlikely he would attend an event like this. But to our surprise, our invitation was accepted! It’s truly a great honor!"

Hearing this, the people in the audience exchanged glances.

’According to the host, this special guest has a very high status?’

’But everyone here is either a prominent figure in the entertainment world, an elite business tycoon, or a socialite from a wealthy, prestigious family. How much higher could this special guest’s status possibly be?’

’The host must be exaggerating, right?’

Sienna Everett hadn’t been interested at first, but now she too looked toward the stage with curiosity. ’Who could it be that has the host this worked up?’

Only Keith Sterling remained in his seat, a playful, all-knowing smirk on his face.

Finally, after building up the suspense, the host made the solemn announcement: "And now, let’s welcome our top-tier special guest, the President of the Forrester Group, Mr. Julian Forrester!"

The words fell like a clap of thunder on a clear day.

Some were so shocked they shot to their feet. Someone else who was drinking water choked in surprise.

’Ju... Julian Forrester??’

’HOLY SHIT!!!’

’The host wasn’t exaggerating. This special guest’s status really is that high!!!’

But just as the host had said, given Julian Forrester’s status and standing, he would never attend an event like this. Why was he in such a good mood today that he would make a special appearance at a charity gala?

’Or... is this magnate here for something specific?’

At that moment, upon hearing Julian Forrester’s name, Sienna Everett’s eyes widened in shock, her clear pupils filled with astonishment.

’I didn’t mishear, did I?’

’Julian Forrester is the special guest at the charity gala?’

’Why didn’t he tell me he was coming?’
