Chapter 166: Chapter 166: Julian Forrester, Are You Pouting?
[Baby, long time no see.]
Sienna Everett saw the message, her face scrunching up. The ambiguous term of endearment, "Baby," didn’t stir any emotion in her, only giving her a headache and a sense of exhaustion.
The message was from an unsaved, unknown number.
But Sienna Everett knew who sent it.
Who else would call her that but that bastard Shen!
Sienna Everett’s first instinct was to ignore it, to pretend she hadn’t seen it.
She considered blocking the number, but then she realized it would be useless. Even if she blocked the bastard, he’d just find another way to contact her.
After thinking for a few seconds, Sienna Everett decided to cut to the chase and bring up the fact that she was married again.
She typed back expressionlessly: [Shen, I’m already married.]
He replied almost immediately: [Tsk, so my baby finally decides to talk to me?]
Sienna Everett: "..."
’Was that the point?!’
Sienna Everett angrily typed: [I said, I’m already married!]
He didn’t seem surprised, his reply unhurried: [I know. To Julian Forrester.]
Sienna Everett was shocked: [You investigated me?]
Her marriage to Julian Forrester was a secret, not announced to the public. There was no way a normal person would know she was married to him unless they had deliberately investigated her.
’Just how much had this bastard dug up on her?’
He seemed to know what she was thinking and replied slyly: [Tsk, cursing me in your head again?]
Sienna Everett: "..."
He sent another message: [Go on, keep cursing. I quite like hearing you curse me.]
Sienna Everett: "..."
’He’s sick!’
’Just as sick as he’s always been!’
Sienna Everett typed fiercely: [In any case, I’m married now. Stop calling me that, and stop pestering me!]
The man replied nonchalantly: [So what if you’re married? I don’t mind being your mistress.]
Sienna Everett: "???"
’Mistress my ass!’
’You psycho! Who asked you to be my mistress?!’
Sienna Everett had never heard such a request. She took several deep breaths to suppress the urge to curse him out. She shouldn’t have replied to him in the first place!
’Regret!’
Just as she was fuming, her phone chimed again with a new message.
Sienna Everett assumed it was from that bastard again and looked at it irritably, only to see it was from Julian Forrester.
The anger in Sienna Everett’s heart instantly dissipated by more than half.
Julian Forrester: [Have you landed?]
Sienna Everett typed back cheerfully: [Just landed. Heading to the hotel now.]
Julian Forrester: [Message me when you get to the hotel.]
Sienna Everett: [Okay, I will.]
Just as she sent the message, Orion Hawthorne, who was beside her, narrowed his eyes and asked, "Sienna Everett, you’ve been glued to your phone texting ever since we landed. Who are you talking to so much?"
Sienna Everett was used to their banter and retorted without missing a beat, "I have someone who cares about me. Unlike you, with no one to even text you. Must be so lonely!"
Not to be outdone, Orion Hawthorne’s lips curved into a wild grin. "Who says I don’t!"
Sienna Everett raised an eyebrow, probing gossipily, "Is it that Miss Yvette Garrison? What’s the situation with you two?"
Hearing this, Orion Hawthorne’s expression stiffened. He shot her a glare and, clearly not wanting to mention even a sliver of Yvette Garrison’s name, said in a low voice, "Sienna Everett, stop spreading baseless gossip."
For this trip to Meridia, Yesteria, to shoot the perfume commercial, besides the two spokespeople, Sienna Everett and Orion Hawthorne, their agent Stella Shaw had of course come along, as well as some bodyguards and assistants from their team.
The perfume brand had arranged the hotel in advance and even sent people to pick them up from the airport.
After the two parties met up, they took a car to the hotel.
The rooms were on the twelfth floor. Standing before the floor-to-ceiling windows, one could overlook the river. The view was wide and the scenery was excellent.
Sienna Everett looked around her room and put down her luggage.
She then sent a message to Julian Forrester: [Reporting in, I’ve arrived at the hotel!]
A few seconds after she sent the message, a video call from Julian Forrester came through.
Sienna Everett froze for a moment before answering the call.
Soon, the man’s handsome, fair face appeared on the screen. The lines from his brow bone to his jaw were sensual, distinct, and flawless.
Sienna Everett was bewildered. "Why a video call?"
The man was sitting at a desk. He casually undid a button on his shirt, his low, husky, and languid voice inexplicably seductive. "No reason. Just wanted to see you."
Sienna Everett blurted out, "What’s there to see about me?"
Julian Forrester: "..."
After a moment, he turned his face away and let out a helpless, soft chuckle. "Fine, then. I guess I missed you for nothing."
Sienna Everett’s eyes widened slightly, a ripple passing through them. "You missed me? For real?"
’How long had she even been gone?’
’From getting on the plane to getting off, and then to the hotel, it hadn’t even been eight hours.’
The man propped his forehead on his hand, his gaze fixed on Sienna Everett in the video call. He gave a lazy "mhm" and asked, "When are you coming back?"
Sienna Everett: "..."
’She just got here! Her work hasn’t even started yet!’
"Julian Forrester, are you okay? I feel like you’re not acting normal."
A low chuckle escaped his throat. "How am I not normal?"
Sienna Everett: "I feel like... you’re pouting?"
Julian Forrester: "..."
Seeing him at a loss for words, Sienna Everett’s mood brightened considerably. She held up her phone to give him a tour of the hotel room. "Look, this is my hotel. It’s not bad."
It couldn’t compare to the conditions at Veridian Gardens, of course, but it was still very nice.
After showing him, Sienna Everett took out her phone stand. "I’m going to put my phone on the desk and unpack a little."
Julian Forrester: "Mhm."
Sienna Everett figured she’d be abroad for at least half a month this time, so she needed to put her things away properly.
As she organized her things, Julian Forrester’s gaze was lowered slightly, watching her without blinking.
Suddenly, he called her name in a serious tone, "Sienna Everett, is there something you forgot to tell me?"
Sienna Everett was looking down at her open suitcase. Hearing him, she glanced at the phone screen. "What is it?"
The man’s slender, pale fingers tapped twice on the desk. In a seemingly casual tone, he asked, "For example, your former suitors."
Sienna Everett pouted. "What’s there to talk about?"
She retorted, "Why don’t you tell me about your suitors?"
Sienna Everett’s lips curved into a smile, her eyes crinkling. "Our dear Julian is so handsome, he’s been pursued since he was a child. The line of his admirers probably stretches from here to another country. It would take a whole day and night just to list them, right?"
Julian Forrester raised an eyebrow, his voice lazy. "You remember things about me so clearly, Sienna."
Sienna Everett: "...Who’s remembering? I’m not!"
Sienna Everett huffed softly, looked away from him, and continued unpacking, casually taking out her underwear and placing it on the bed.
Two seconds later, she suddenly realized that Julian Forrester could see it from his angle.
WHOOSH. Her little paw shot out, and she quickly snatched the underwear back.
Immediately after, the man’s sexy, teasing, low chuckle came through the video call, the end of his words unbelievably alluring. "It’s not like it’s the first time I’ve seen them."
