Chapter 170: Chapter 170: You Get to Pet Me Every Day
But Keith Sterling’s worrying was pointless. Those were the rules of the game, and they had to be followed.
Sienna Everett pulled out her phone, trying hard to remember who she had called recently and who the first contact in her call history was.
Seeing her pull out her phone, Keith Sterling couldn’t sit still and anxiously ran over to look.
’Please, please don’t let Sienna’s first contact be one of her suitors!’ he prayed frantically.
When Sienna Everett saw Keith Sterling run over, she didn’t try to hide her screen. She just opened her call history.
’Huh?’
’The first contact is Julian Forrester?’
Sienna Everett herself was stunned.
’Oh, right,’ she remembered. She had gotten a call from Julian Forrester on the way back to the hotel, telling her to eat a proper meal.
Keith Sterling, who had been praying frantically, relaxed the moment he saw it was his bro. ’This must be fate!’
’Sienna and his bro are so close!’
’They just talked an hour ago!’
Orion Hawthorne was too far from Sienna Everett to see the contact’s name. "Who is it?" he asked curiously. "Someone in the industry?"
Keith Sterling chuckled smugly. "I’m not telling! Sienna, hurry up and call!"
Seeing Keith Sterling’s eager and gleeful expression, Ian Prescott and Evan Shelby instantly guessed who it was. It had to be Sienna Everett’s husband.
Urged on by Keith Sterling, Sienna Everett braced herself and dialed Julian Forrester.
Julian Forrester always answered her calls quickly.
Before Sienna Everett could even mentally prepare herself, the call connected.
This made Sienna get tongue-tied. She blurted out stiffly, "I miss you."
Hearing this, Julian Forrester seemed dazed for a moment.
An uncontrollable flutter stirred in his heart.
’Sienna took the initiative to say she missed him?’
He was just about to reply when, a second later, Sienna Everett hung up.
Julian Forrester: "?"
He called back, but Sienna Everett rejected it and sent him a text: "Um, we’re playing a game. I’ll call you at ten tonight!"
Julian Forrester: "..."
’Playing... a game?’
Julian Forrester’s eyes narrowed dangerously.
After sending the text, a guilty Sienna Everett shot an irritated glare at Evan Shelby.
Evan Shelby just laughed fearlessly. "See? That was great."
Sienna Everett gave him a smirk that wasn’t quite a smile. "Great? Fine."
Since Sienna Everett had completed her dare, the balloon for the next round would start with her. It was also her turn to come up with the next "truth" question or "dare."
After the first few rounds, Sienna Everett had already figured out roughly how long it took for the balloon to pop.
So, she deliberately slowed her pace as she passed it. Just as it reached Evan Shelby’s hands, the balloon popped right on cue.
Sienna Everett looked at him, her lips twitching. "Your turn. Call the first person in your call history and tell them you miss them."
Evan Shelby: "?"
A few rounds later, the balloon popped in Evan Shelby’s hands again.
Sienna Everett propped her chin on one hand, a smile in her eyes. "Keep going. Call the second person in your call history and tell them you miss them."
Evan Shelby: "??"
’Boss, I was wrong!’
Keith Sterling loved seeing Evan Shelby squirm. He laughed so hard he nearly fell on the floor, losing all composure. "Evan Shelby, you’re finally getting what’s coming to you! Hey, hey, where do you think you’re going!"
The game finally ended with Evan Shelby clutching his head and running for his life.
Afterward, everyone had dinner together at the hotel restaurant.
After dinner, Sienna Everett took Isabelle Sutton to her room.
They chatted for a bit before Sienna Everett told Isabelle Sutton to get some rest, since they were going to the car race the next morning.
Back in her own room, Sienna Everett took a shower first.
After her shower, she flopped comfortably onto the bed and called Julian Forrester.
The moment the call connected, she heard the man’s low, husky voice. "Ten o’clock?"
Sienna Everett blinked, remembering the text she’d sent him during the game promising to call at ten.
She glanced at the time, scratched her head, and said with a confidence that defied logic, "What’s wrong? It’s only 9:68 right now!"
Julian Forrester: "..."
He couldn’t help but chuckle. "So, tell me."
Sienna Everett knew exactly what he was asking about. She rolled over in bed. "It was nothing. We were just playing a game, and I got a dare to call the first person in my call history."
The man’s brow twitched almost imperceptibly, his tone lifting with pleasure. "So, I was the first person in my dear Sienna’s call history."
"Only because you had just called me, okay?"
"It seems I’ll have to call my Sienna a few more times every day from now on."
"Why?"
"To prevent you from calling some other man and telling him you miss him the next time you play that game."
"..." Sienna Everett shot up in bed. "No, no, no! We don’t play that game often! Besides, wouldn’t it be a hassle for you to call me several times a day?"
The man raised an eyebrow slightly, his lazy tone both sexy and alluring. "What’s so troublesome about calling my own wife?"
Sienna Everett’s eyelashes fluttered, and her fingers tapped unconsciously against the bedsheet. "Fine, call if you want to. But I’m going to sleep now."
"Wait."
"Is there something else?" As soon as she asked, she realized he had hung up.
Just as she was wondering what was going on, a video call from Julian Forrester came through.
Sienna Everett answered, suspicious. "Weren’t we just on the phone? Why switch to a video call?"
The man’s dark eyes gazed at her, taking in her appearance completely. "No reason. I just wanted to see you. I haven’t seen you all day."
The man’s low, magnetic voice was incredibly seductive, each word like a little hook tugging at her eardrums.
Sienna Everett’s heart skipped a beat. Then she suddenly remembered something and anxiously leaned closer to the camera, fluttering her big eyes. "Can you see my dark circles?!"
Julian Forrester was utterly charmed by this. "No," he said in a lazy tone.
"Don’t humor me." Sienna Everett picked up a small mirror from her nightstand to check. "Look, the dark circles are really starting to show. I haven’t been sleeping well these past two days."
"Not sleeping well?" He frowned.
"Yeah, that’s why I’m getting sleepy so early tonight." Sienna Everett put the mirror back on the nightstand and yawned. "I’m going to watch a car race tomorrow morning. And check out a handsome racer while I’m at it."
The light in Julian Forrester’s eyes instantly darkened. "See what?" he asked, his tone dangerous.
Sienna Everett thought he hadn’t heard her clearly, so she repeated herself. "Watch the car race. And check out a handsome racer. I hear he’s really good-looking. He’s a friend of Isabelle Sutton—you know Isabelle, right?"
Julian Forrester was so angry he almost laughed, and his expression was anything but pleasant.
Right now, he couldn’t care less if it was Isabelle Sutton or Penelope Sutton.
Sienna Everett was genuinely tired, letting out two big yawns in a row. "But according to Isabelle, that racer probably isn’t as handsome as you."
Her sleepy mind working without a filter, Sienna Everett started teasing him. "It can’t be helped. My dear Julian’s face has always been handsome, ever since he was a boy. Not only is it nice to look at, but it feels good to touch, too."
Julian Forrester froze, the coldness in his eyes melting away like spring snow. "When you get back, I’ll let you touch it every day."
Only then did Sienna Everett realize what she’d just said. "I’ll... I’ll touch it when I get back... We can talk about it then! I’m going to sleep!"
She hung up the video call, all traces of sleepiness now completely gone.
’Honestly.’
...
The next morning, Sienna Everett went with Keith Sterling, Isabelle Sutton, and the others to watch the race live.
Their tickets were for the main grandstand, which had an excellent view. Plus, there were six large electronic screens around them, live-streaming the race from various angles.
It was currently the pre-race preparation period.
Isabelle Sutton scanned the area and spotted Liam Lynn’s figure in the nearby racers’ lounge. She immediately tugged Sienna Everett’s arm. "Sienna, look over there! The one in black, that’s Liam Lynn!"
Sienna Everett looked in the direction she was pointing.
She got a clear look at Liam Lynn’s face.
Sienna Everett’s gaze suddenly turned icy.
