Chapter 179: Brother, As Expected of You
Chapter 179: Chapter 179: Brother, As Expected of You
Anxious and alarmed, Keith Sterling called Sienna Everett’s phone again, only to find it had been turned off.
"It’s off?"
A cold sweat broke out on Keith Sterling’s back.
’If something happens to Sierra, I might as well not go home alive. How could I ever explain this to my brother!’
Ian Prescott’s gaze sharpened as he scanned the crowd for Sienna Everett. He pulled out his phone, intending to call their bodyguards and have them bring more men to help with the search.
But just as he took out his phone, he received a call from his older brother.
’Why would my brother be calling all of a sudden?’
Ian Prescott swiped the screen to answer. "Brother."
"It’s me! It’s me! Sienna Everett!"
A girl’s clear, vibrant voice came from the other end of the line.
Ian Prescott froze. "Sienna?"
The moment he spoke, Keith Sterling, Evan Shelby, Orion Hawthorne, and Isabelle Sutton, who had all been searching for Sienna Everett, immediately crowded around him.
"Is that Sierra on the phone?" Keith Sterling asked anxiously, his eyes glued to Ian Prescott.
Ian Prescott nodded. "It’s her voice."
Keith Sterling let out a huge sigh of relief and clutched his chest, shaken. He’d nearly had a heart attack from the scare.
’Thank God we found her!’
Seeing this, Evan Shelby, Orion Hawthorne, and Isabelle Sutton all breathed a collective sigh of relief.
Ian Prescott lowered the phone from his ear and glanced at the screen. ’It’s definitely a call from my older brother, so why is Sienna Everett on the line?’
"Sienna, why didn’t you call me from your own phone?"
"Ugh, my phone died." Sienna Everett sighed. "Such bad luck. We all got separated by the crowd, right? I got pushed pretty far away, and by the time I turned back, I couldn’t find any of you."
"My phone was on silent at first, so I missed your calls. Then it died. Just by chance, I ran into a man on the street who looks a lot like you. He recognized me as Sienna Everett and said he was your older brother, here in Meridia looking for you."
Of course, Sienna Everett wasn’t about to blindly trust a stranger.
But the man had Ian Prescott’s number in his phone, and the call actually connected.
After hearing Sienna Everett’s story, Ian Prescott put a hand to his forehead. ’My brother came all the way to Meridia... It looks like he already knows that Sienna might be our sister who was lost when we were children.’
"Sienna, where are you now? Keith Sterling and the others and I will come find you right away."
"I’m next to a swan-shaped lantern."
Ian Prescott looked up.
The swan-shaped lantern was a well-known local landmark, and it was indeed quite far from their current location. To think Sienna Everett had been pushed all the way over there by the crowd.
After hanging up, Ian Prescott immediately led Keith Sterling and the others toward the landmark.
When they reached the swan lantern, they saw Sienna Everett talking with a man.
The man was tall and slender, with thin lips, cold eyes, and striking features. He wore an impeccably tailored black suit, and his handsome, pale face seemed dusted with frost, exuding an icy aura that kept everyone at a distance.
Despite his cold indifference, the man’s flawless face, as if exquisitely sculpted by the Creator himself, still drew frequent glances from many women.
In both height and bearing, this man was a commanding presence in the crowd.
Standing beside the man was someone who looked like an assistant.
The assistant’s head was slightly bowed, his posture exceedingly deferential.
When Keith Sterling saw that Sienna Everett was completely unharmed, his last wisp of worry vanished. He started to run over cheerfully, but his steps faltered when he saw the frosty man standing beside her.
However, Keith Sterling had always been irreverent. After only a brief pause, he ran toward Sienna Everett anyway.
"Sierra, we finally found you! I’m so glad you’re okay, or how would I ever explain this to my brother!"
Sienna Everett blinked. ’Is it really that serious?’
She cleared her throat. "Don’t worry, I’m fine. Perfectly okay."
Standing to the side, Orion Hawthorne’s expression flickered as he heard Keith Sterling’s words, his sharp senses picking up on something odd.
’How would he explain this to his brother?’
’Does he mean Mr. Forrester?’
’If something happened to Sienna Everett, Keith Sterling wouldn’t be able to answer to Julian Forrester?’
’Sienna Everett and Julian Forrester... What’s their hidden connection?’
Evan Shelby discreetly sized up the man with the frigid aura.
Ian Prescott’s brow twitched slightly. He introduced casually, "This is my older brother, Javier Prescott."
Evan Shelby’s eyes widened in understanding. ’So this is the eldest young master of the Prescott Family, their current head.’
His features did bear some resemblance to Ian Prescott’s.
Isabelle Sutton only dared to sneak a few glances. The head of the Prescott Family was simply too forbidding. His face was like a mask of frost, and he seemed so cold that even his hair gave off a chill, making him utterly unapproachable.
’His aura is completely different from Ian Prescott’s.’
’If Ian Prescott is a smiling fox, then Javier Prescott is a glacier that has never thawed.’
It was getting late, so the group stopped admiring the riverside view and returned to their hotel.
Everyone went back to their respective rooms.
Javier Prescott followed Ian Prescott directly into his room.
"Brother, why did you suddenly show up?"
Javier Prescott walked to an armchair and sat down. He lifted his gaze to look at him, his voice cold. "If I hadn’t come, just how long were you planning to drag this out?"
After speaking, his gaze slowly drifted down to Ian Prescott’s legs. "Your legs are better? Not using the wheelchair anymore?"
Ian Prescott: "..."
Javier Prescott’s brow seemed to be dusted with the chill of a late autumn frost. "In that case, go manage the branch office in Zavania."
Ian Prescott: "..."
A vein throbbed on his forehead. Ian Prescott quickly changed the subject. "Brother, you’ve met Sienna. What do you think of her?"
At the thought of the girl with her dazzling smile and vibrant energy, a rare moment of warmth melted Javier Prescott’s cold expression.
Ian Prescott saw his expression and knew exactly what it meant. He smirked. "Brother, you also think Sienna looks a bit like our long-lost sister, don’t you?"
"Why didn’t you tell me about this sooner?" Javier Prescott stared at him.
Ian Prescott sighed. "I wanted to wait until I was certain before telling Mother. After all, we’ve made this mistake so many times before. Each time we were wrong, it broke her heart."
"So you’ve been dawdling this whole time and still haven’t confirmed anything?"
"...Brother, getting a DNA sample isn’t that simple." Ian Prescott had been racking his brain over this.
Looking at the man on the armchair, Ian Prescott suddenly broke into a smile. He leaned in closer. "Brother, do you have a better idea?"
Javier Prescott pushed him away, his expression impassive and his tone flat. "Tell Sienna directly."
Ian Prescott froze. "Tell her directly?"
Javier Prescott’s long, elegant fingers tapped the armrest. "Don’t try to secretly take a hair sample or anything else from her. Explain the situation to her directly. That’s how you show her respect."
Ian Prescott nodded thoughtfully.
’He’s right. We have to respect Sienna Everett’s wishes.’
Javier Prescott continued, "I’ve brought a blood sample from Mother, and a trustworthy doctor. After you explain it to Sienna, if she agrees, we can perform the DNA test immediately."
Ian Prescott: "?"
’He brought a blood sample and a doctor?’
’That’s my brother for you. Always so efficient.’
Ian Prescott glanced at the time. It was still early, not yet time to sleep. "Alright, let’s go find Sienna now and tell her everything."
