Sienna: “?”

She had just told Julian Forrester a second ago that Chief Ford was trying to set her up, and the next second, Julian was calling the chief’s phone?

‘Does he have to be so fast?’

Director Jarvis, who was standing to the side, was startled when he heard Julian Forrester’s name. Then it clicked. No wonder Chief Ford’s attitude had been so amicable.

‘After all, that was Julian Forrester he was dealing with.’

‘The Forrester family was immensely powerful, and as its current head, Julian Forrester was someone to be respected. It was only natural to want to stay on his good side for mutual benefit.’

‘Besides, it seemed Chief Ford also had a friendly relationship with the old master of the Forrester family.’

A short while later, Chief Ford returned after finishing his call. His gaze toward Sienna held a look of pleasant surprise. “So it turns out the person you married is…”

‘So Sienna married Julian.’

Sienna understood immediately. Julian must have told Chief Ford something on the phone just now.

Chief Ford sat back down and said with a chuckle, “I know Julian as well, but I had no idea about your relationship. I’ve really made a fool of myself this time! Since you’re already married, I won’t go setting you up with anyone!”

‘How should I put this… Compared to his friend’s grandson, Julian and Sienna are a much better match!’

‘I was worried about what kind of punk kid he might be and whether he’d be good enough for Sienna. Now I don’t have to worry. Julian and Sienna are quite a good match!’

Sienna breathed a sigh of relief. The matchmaking issue was finally resolved.

After the dinner ended, Sienna said goodbye to Chief Ford and Director Jarvis, then went to find Isabelle Sutton.

Isabelle Sutton was waiting with eager anticipation. As soon as the door opened and she saw Sienna, her eyes lit up. “Let me give you a hug, Winchester, the legend who’s taken the internet by storm!”

Sienna was amused by her friend’s dramatic declaration and raised her arms to hug Isabelle.

After they sat down on the sofa, Sienna asked, “You said in your text earlier that Lucas Everett came to you, wanting you to pass something on to me?”

“Yeah.” Isabelle poured two glasses of juice. “He wanted me to give something to you. I think it was a car key. He probably wants to give you a car. I didn’t agree on my own. I felt I had to get your permission first.”

“Isabelle, if he ever bothers you again about anything related to me, you can just ignore him.”

“I figured. You obviously can’t stand him.”

“Is he still pestering you?” Sienna asked curiously.

“He is.” Isabelle linked her arm with Sienna’s, her face scrunching up. “But I don’t want to deal with him either.”

‘When Lucas Everett was pretending to be Liam Lynn, she had liked him. But ever since she found out he was Lucas Everett, one of the Everetts, her feelings had become extremely complicated. She couldn’t help but feel that no one in the Everett Family was any good.’

‘Even though Lucas knows he was wrong now and is desperate for Sienna’s forgiveness, she still can’t go back to how she felt before. She can’t treat Lucas Everett the same way she treated Liam Lynn.’

Seeing that Isabelle had her mind made up, Sienna didn’t say any more and simply supported her decision.

The two chatted affectionately about other things for a while.

Just as they were happily chatting, Sienna received a message from Julian Forrester. He said it was getting late and asked when she was coming home, offering to come and pick her up.

Sienna pouted. ‘Men. Always interrupting my girl talk.’

‘Truth be told, Sienna could get home on her own; there was no need to trouble Julian to make a trip.’

‘But then she thought about it. Her relationship with Julian was different now. They were officially dating, and having her husband come pick her up was a way to deepen their bond.’

‘Besides, even before they were together, Julian would thoughtfully come get her whenever she was out working late.’

Sienna typed out a reply, sending Julian the address and telling him to come over now.

After chatting a little longer, Sienna stood up to leave.

Isabelle said worriedly, “It’s so late. Is it safe to take a taxi home?”

Sienna said, “Julian Forrester is coming to get me.”

Isabelle immediately let out a “wow,” her smile radiant. “Mr. Forrester treats you so well!”

‘Sienna could deny anything, but she couldn’t deny that. Julian really did treat her very well. He was like a good and virtuous wife, a model husband and father…’

Isabelle walked Sienna downstairs.

Just as they reached the ground floor, they ran right into Lucas Everett, who had been looking for them.

“Sienna!”

The moment he saw Sienna, Lucas sprinted over, his eyes shining with joy in the darkness.

Sienna’s brow furrowed in disgust.

Isabelle, sharing her friend’s sentiment, snapped, “What are you doing here again?”

Lucas pulled a car key from his pocket and offered it to Sienna as if presenting a treasure. “Sienna, this is a top-performance race car I recently assembled! You’re a racer, so you’ll definitely love it! I want to give you the car and the key!”

Lucas spoke with excitement, only to be met by Sienna’s frosty, indifferent gaze.

Lucas fell silent, as if a bucket of cold water had been poured over his head. The hand holding the key trembled, and it took him a long moment before he spoke again, timidly.

“If you don’t like it, then… never mind. Oh, right, Sienna, Mom and Dad called me tonight. They said they want to see you and asked if I knew where you lived.”

Sienna’s eyes narrowed. ‘So Morgan Everett and Sheila Whitaker want to see her? That depends on whether she wants to see them.’

Isabelle scoffed. “Isn’t it just because they saw how popular and amazing Sienna is online that they want to see her now? Their scheming is so loud I can practically hear it.”

A trace of embarrassment crossed Lucas’s face, but he didn’t say anything to defend Morgan Everett and Sheila Whitaker.

‘After all, their actions were completely indefensible.’

Sienna glanced at the time. Julian would be arriving soon. She turned to Isabelle and said, “Isabelle, I’m heading out.”

Isabelle nodded. “Okay, be careful on your way!”

After saying goodbye, Sienna started walking toward the intersection up ahead.

Lucas instinctively started to follow her.

Sienna shot him a look, warning him with a deadpan expression, “Don’t follow me.”

Lucas’s steps faltered.

Isabelle lingered for a moment. Seeing that Sienna was already some distance away, she turned to Lucas, who was still standing there, and said, “And don’t you come pestering me anymore, either.”

“Isabelle…” Lucas cried out, his expression pained.

Isabelle ignored him, turned crisply, and went back inside.

「Meanwhile.」

Sienna reached the intersection and saw a black car parked by the roadside. A radiant smile bloomed on her face as she broke into a light jog toward it.

Before she even got close, Keith Sterling’s head POPPED out of the driver’s side window. “Sister-in-law, I’m here too! I came to pick you up as well! Surprise, surprise!”

The corner of Sienna’s mouth twitched. “What are you doing here?”

“I came with my brother! Get in, get in! My brother’s in the back!”

Sienna pulled open the rear door and saw the man’s handsome and noble profile. Her heart instantly felt like it had been zapped with electricity, a pleasant tingling sensation spreading through her.

‘Oh my, he’s as beautiful as a flower.’

“What is it?” Julian asked, noticing her staring at him. He reached out and pulled her into the car.

Sienna took hold of the man’s well-defined hand and let him pull her inside. Then, glancing at Keith in the front seat, she waited for a moment when he wasn’t looking back and quickly leaned in to steal a kiss on Julian’s cheek.

‘After kissing him, Sienna herself was taken aback for a second. How could she do something like that? She must have been bewitched by his beauty!’

“Whoa! I didn’t see anything!” Keith feigned covering his eyes, but left wide gaps between his fingers.

Julian was clearly in an excellent mood, his eyes twinkling with amusement.

Sienna gave his arm an indignant pinch. ‘It’s all his fault for bewitching me!’

Then she looked at Keith in the front seat. “It’s fine even if you saw! I was kissing my husband. It’s legal!”

Hearing the word “husband” pop out of her mouth, Julian’s eyes instantly darkened, and his gaze fixed on her, burning with intensity.

Sienna, flustered and annoyed, stared back at him. “What are you looking at? Oh, I misspoke. I should have said boyfriend.”

Julian arched an eyebrow slightly. Looking at her fierce yet adorable expression, a soft chuckle escaped his throat, his eyes filled with nothing but adoration.

…

Lucas stood there, utterly dejected. In the end, he couldn’t stop himself. He gritted his teeth and chased after Sienna.

‘It was so rare for him to see Sienna. He just wanted to look at her a little longer.’

‘Given her disgusted attitude toward him, who knew when he would get to see her again.’

Lucas arrived at the intersection, panting, just in time to see Sienna get into a black car parked by the road.

‘Who was picking Sienna up?’

‘A friend?’

The car didn’t drive away immediately. Lucas ran over and, caught completely off guard, saw the people sitting inside through the lowered window…
