Chapter 282: Chapter 282: Everett Family’s Bankruptcy Countdown: Using Her to Threaten Sienna Everett

The next afternoon, Sienna Everett got a call from Stella Shaw and headed to Sovereign Entertainment.

Just as she reached the front of the company building, her path was blocked by Morgan Everett, Sheila Whitaker, and Shannon Everett, who suddenly ran up to her.

Sienna Everett frowned, making no effort to hide the disgust in her eyes.

"Sister," Shannon Everett said, her voice the first to break the silence, soft and pitiable. "Sister, Mom and Dad haven’t seen you in so long. They miss you very much. They came all the way to your company just to wait for you, and they’ve been here since this morning."

"Sien..." Sheila Whitaker rarely called her so affectionately, and it sounded awkward and unnatural. "Sienna, we’re all family. Is there anything we can’t talk through? Stop this nonsense and come home to the Everett family, alright?"

In a rare moment of gentleness, Morgan Everett softened his tone. "Come back home. Let’s just let the past be the past. We can all move on."

Sienna Everett stared coldly at the three hypocrites. "Don’t think for a second I don’t know what you’re up to. If you have any sense of shame, get out of my sight right now."

"Sister, please don’t say that. You’ll make Mom and Dad sad." Tears welled up in Shannon Everett’s eyes. "Everything that happened before was my fault. I’m sorry. Please don’t take it out on them."

Sienna Everett scoffed. "My mistake. I shouldn’t have mentioned shame. You people don’t have any to begin with."

"Sienna Everett!" Morgan Everett’s face darkened instantly. "I came all this way to speak to you nicely, to swallow my pride and ask you to come home. What more could you possibly want!"

A faint smirk played on Sienna Everett’s lips, the sarcasm in her eyes deepening. "Chairman Everett, you couldn’t even keep up the ’human’ act for a few seconds, could you? I guess being a beast just comes more naturally to you, doesn’t it?"

"You wretched girl! How dare you speak to your father like that!" Sheila Whitaker cried out, flustered.

Morgan Everett was even more livid, his face flushed and his neck bulging with rage. But then he remembered why he was here and forced himself to swallow his anger.

"Sienna Everett, whatever you say, we are still your biological parents. We took you into the Everett home for two years, and we never mistreated you. You were the one who insisted on cutting ties with the family. The Everett Family has done nothing to wrong you..."

"The Everett family is in such dire straits right now, while your popularity has exploded. You’re so talented. As our daughter, it’s your duty to help the family! Don’t you have any lingering affection for us at all? Are you really just going to stand by and watch the Everett family go completely bankrupt?!"

’The Everett Family has done nothing to wrong you...’

Sienna Everett found it so absurd she actually laughed out loud. She looked at Morgan Everett with a calm, leisurely expression. "So you don’t want the Everett family to go bankrupt. What’s the plan, then? Why don’t you get on your knees and beg me."

Morgan Everett’s eyes widened at her words, his authority challenged. He exploded, "You scoundrel! How can you say something like that to me! I am your father!"

Sienna Everett’s expression turned grim, her gaze bone-chillingly cold. "Morgan Everett, don’t flatter yourself. From the moment we cut ties, I’ve had nothing to do with you. And I most certainly do not have a father as incompetent and irresponsible as you!"

With that, Sienna Everett called over the security guards patrolling the company entrance.

The guards, of course, recognized Sienna Everett. They knew she was one of the company’s artists and that she had become incredibly popular recently, so their attitude was perfectly professional. "Miss Everett!"

Sienna Everett pointed at Morgan Everett, Sheila Whitaker, and Shannon Everett and said, her face devoid of expression, "Get these three out of here. And from now on, don’t let them anywhere near the company. Their ugliness is bad for our corporate image."

The whole affair between Sienna Everett and the Everett family had been major gossip, so the guards were well aware of the situation. When they heard Sienna call the trio ugly and bad for the company’s image, they nearly burst out laughing. "Yes, Miss Everett! Understood!"

Sheila Whitaker was so furious she was gasping for breath. "Sienna Everett, you..."

Morgan Everett looked like he was about to lecture Sienna Everett again.

But the guards had already moved in, unceremoniously removing them from the premises and escorting them far away from the entrance, lest they tarnish the company’s image.

With peace finally restored, Sienna Everett turned, walked through the company’s main entrance, and went to find Stella Shaw.

...

After being thrown out, Sheila Whitaker was so enraged she felt her blood pressure skyrocket. "That wretched girl, Sienna Everett! How can she be so cold-blooded? To kick out her own mother!"

"Mom, please don’t be angry," Shannon Everett soothed in a soft voice. "Maybe she’s only refusing to help the Everett family because she hates me..."

"Shannon, my sweet daughter, don’t say that!" Morgan Everett’s heart ached to hear her. "Sienna Everett is the scoundrel here! She’s selfish and vindictive, that’s why she won’t help the family. It has nothing to do with you!"

"That’s right, Shannon. Your father’s right. Don’t you dare think that way!" Sheila Whitaker added, taking Shannon’s hands to comfort her.

Shannon Everett nodded obediently, but a cold glint flashed deep in her eyes.

She had come here with Morgan and Sheila today hoping that Sienna might have a change of heart and agree to help the family. If that had happened, she wouldn’t have to secretly sell off her shares in the family company and could continue living as the beloved daughter of the Everett family.

But now, it was clear that Sienna had no intention of helping the Everett family get back on its feet.

That meant she would have to go ahead with secretly selling off her shares in the Everett Corporation.

’Wait... I have an idea. A way to make Sienna agree to help the family.’

"Dad, Mom, I have an idea. It might be able to get Sister to agree to help the family."

"What is it?" Sheila Whitaker asked eagerly.

Shannon Everett feigned reluctance. After a moment’s hesitation, she shook her head. "No, maybe it’s better if I don’t say."

"Don’t be like that! How can you just drop it?" Sheila Whitaker urged, frantic with impatience. "What’s the plan? Just tell us!"

"Yes, Shannon, tell us," Morgan Everett said, his eyes fixed on her, equally desperate to hear.

"Alright, then." Shannon took a deep breath. "I know Isabelle Sutton is a very good friend of Sister’s. If we were to kidnap Isabelle and use her to threaten Sister... to save Isabelle, she would definitely agree to help the Everett family."

Sheila Whitaker was taken aback. She hesitated, "Kidnapping... But that’s..."

Shannon quickly explained:

"Mom, I know kidnapping is wrong. I think this kind of plan is horrible, and I hate it. That’s why I was so hesitant to even bring it up..."

"Dad, Mom, if you think it’s a bad idea, then just pretend I never said anything. Please don’t give it a second thought."

Morgan Everett’s expression was grim. He considered it for a moment, then his mind was made up.

"Shannon, that’s an excellent idea. If we use Isabelle Sutton to threaten Sienna, she’ll have to agree to help the family."

"Besides, Isabelle Sutton has no power or influence. If we hire someone to kidnap her, we won’t be offending anyone important."

"We can even use Isabelle to force Sienna to sign an agreement promising not to call the police or expose this. We could use that agreement to control her forever! This is a brilliant plan!"

The more Morgan thought about it, the more excited he became, his face flushing with a feverish glow.

"But... isn’t that too risky?" Sheila Whitaker clutched at her chest. Her heart was pounding erratically from the shock.

"Sheila, the Everett family is on the brink of collapse. We don’t have any more time to waste," Morgan said, his gaze turning cold and hard. "I will come up with a foolproof plan to use Isabelle Sutton, threaten Sienna, and keep her under our thumb forever."
