Chapter 283: Chapter 283: When Will You Hold the Wedding?

Sheila Whitaker didn’t have much of a mind of her own. Hearing Morgan Everett’s suggestion, she just blindly agreed. "Alright, let’s use Isabelle Sutton to threaten Sienna Everett, then."

Morgan Everett was seething with resentment. "That damn girl only knows how to betray her own family! And here we are, her biological parents, humbling ourselves to ask for her help with the Everett Family. But what does she do? She shows zero regard for our family ties and throws us out! Heh, the fact that a mere Isabelle Sutton can be used to threaten her just goes to show that in Sienna Everett’s heart, we’re worth less than she is!"

Shannon Everett quickly tried to soothe him in a gentle voice. "Dad, please don’t be angry. You still have me, don’t you? I’ll always be a good and devoted daughter to you and Mom, and I’ll cherish you just as if you were my birth parents."

This finally warmed Morgan Everett’s heart. "Good Shannon, you truly are Dad’s sweet girl. I didn’t raise you all these years for nothing!"

Sheila Whitaker’s gaze toward Shannon Everett was filled with touched gratitude and relief. ’Shannon is so thoughtful and devoted,’ she thought. ’So much better than Sienna Everett.’

When they first found Sienna Everett, she and Morgan Everett had consulted a fortune-teller. They were told that their biological daughter would be an immense treasure to the Everett Family, which was a major reason they had agreed to bring her back home.

But after she returned to the Everett Family, Sienna Everett turned out to be of no use.

Only now did they realize just how capable Sienna Everett was. She really was an immense treasure to the Everett Family. It was just a shame she was so cold-blooded, selfish, and disloyal, not sparing a single thought for her own family!

As for the matter of hiring someone to kidnap Isabelle Sutton, Morgan Everett already had a plan forming in his mind...

...

Sienna Everett went to Stella Shaw’s office to discuss some work matters.

After her restoration of the Ancient Painting, Sienna Everett’s fame, influence, and public appeal grew higher and higher, already surpassing most celebrities.

A prominent director from the national broadcasting station wanted to invite Sienna Everett to film a short public service announcement, hoping to leverage her influence and appeal to promote the appreciation and preservation of cultural artifacts.

"Of course! I’m actually very interested in that!"

Sienna Everett agreed on the spot. A PSA like this wouldn’t be difficult to film; they could wrap it up in less than a day.

After they finished their work discussion, Stella Shaw asked with concern, "I heard just now that Morgan Everett and Sheila Whitaker were waiting for you outside the company again?"

Sienna Everett grew annoyed just thinking about it. "I’ve already told security not to let Morgan Everett near the company again."

Stella Shaw nodded. "Alright, I’ll remind security later as well, to make sure they handle it properly."

Just as they were talking, Orion Hawthorne walked in with an impatient expression, saying to the person behind him, "Can you please stop following me?"

A pleasant and sultry female voice followed immediately after. "After what we did... you’re not going to take responsibility for me?"

The moment Sienna Everett heard that, she thought, ’Ooh!’

Her inner gossip fiend instantly roared to life!

She immediately looked over, her eyes alight with gossip.

The woman following Orion Hawthorne was tall and beautiful, dressed in a long, silk gown. Every movement highlighted her slender and graceful figure.

Sienna Everett recognized her at a glance. It was Yvette Garrison.

The moment Orion Hawthorne stepped into Stella Shaw’s office, he was met with Sienna Everett’s gossip-hungry eyes, and his face instantly darkened with embarrassment.

’Could she be any more obvious about it!’

Orion Hawthorne spun around irritably and started pushing Yvette Garrison back out the door, his expression defiant. "I’m warning you, Yvette Garrison, there’s nothing between us. I can’t be bothered to hold a grudge over you getting drunk and puking all over me, but if you spout this nonsense again..."

They moved farther and farther away, and their voices grew increasingly faint.

Sienna Everett looked completely unsatisfied. ’The show got cut off halfway through! This is torture!’

Stella Shaw just shook her head with a helpless smile.

Sienna Everett’s phone chimed. It was a message from Keith Sterling: "Sierra, when are you coming back? I want to introduce you to someone!"

’Introduce me to someone?’

Sienna Everett’s eyes darted thoughtfully. She stood up and said, "Ophelia, if there’s nothing else, I’m going to head back now!"

"Okay, sounds good. Be safe on your way."

...

「Back at Veridian Gardens.」

As soon as Sienna Everett walked into the living room, she saw Julian Forrester and Keith Sterling sitting on the sofa.

Beside Keith Sterling sat a young woman in a refreshing green dress. Her long, black hair was draped over her shoulders, and she had a gentle, refined face. Her posture was elegant, and she possessed a transcendent air.

Moreover, there was a slight resemblance to Keith Sterling in her features.

The moment Sienna Everett returned, Julian Forrester noticed her and got up to walk over.

At his movement, Keith Sterling saw Sienna Everett as well and immediately jumped to his feet, ecstatic. "Sierra, you’re finally back! Let me introduce you. This is my sister, Claire Sterling. She just got back from abroad today!"

Sienna Everett had already guessed as much. This was Keith Sterling’s sister, which also made her Julian Forrester’s cousin.

She quickly offered a polite greeting. "Claire, hello!"

Claire Sterling’s face was wreathed in a smile as gentle as an early summer breeze. "You must be Sierra. I’m always hearing Grandfather and Keith talk about you. It’s so nice to finally meet you!"

’The moment Sierra came back,’ Claire mused, ’Julian smoothly took her bag and pulled her down to sit with him on the sofa. I’ve never seen him be so attentive to anyone. It’s clear they have a very good relationship.’

After everyone had settled back onto the sofas.

Claire Sterling smiled radiantly. "I heard all about it from Keith. When Julian was in the hospital a while back, Sierra apparently cared for him around the clock. He said she got so thin from the exhaustion."

’That sounded just like Keith Sterling’s flair for exaggeration,’ Sienna thought.

Sienna Everett gave a light cough. "No, no, it wasn’t that dramatic."

Keith Sterling protested, "How is that an exaggeration? You really did lose a ton of weight! Ask my cousin if you don’t believe me!"

At the mention of this, Julian Forrester sounded a little guilty. "She did lose a lot of weight."

’She still hasn’t gained it back.’

’Though she feels just as good to hold.’

Sienna Everett discreetly poked him. ’What are you thinking, you weirdo.’

Glimpsing their intimate little gesture, Claire Sterling asked with a smile, "So, when are you two planning the wedding? Even though I was abroad, I still had plenty of socialites and heiresses asking me about Julian. I told them he was already married, but none of them believe me. I suppose outsiders won’t be convinced until you make it public."

Julian Forrester’s voice was deep and mellow. "The wedding is mainly up to Sienna. I’m ready whenever she is."

’He sounds very eager.’

Sienna Everett was speechless.

’Alright then,’ she conceded to herself. ’We’ll find a good time to announce our marriage and then have the wedding.’

Keith Sterling suddenly asked with a roguish grin, "Sis, so... did any girls ask you about me?"

"You?" Claire Sterling sized him up. "You should stop corrupting good girls."

Keith Sterling: "???"

’How am I the one ’corrupting’ people?!’

’Yep, that’s my dear sister, alright!’

Keith Sterling huffed. "Well, did you bring a brother-in-law back for me, then?"

Hearing that, Claire Sterling raised her hand to swat at him.

Keith Sterling was already on guard. Slippery as an eel, he leaped up to dodge. "Aha! You were trying to hit me again! Good thing I saw through your plan!"

Having missed her target, Claire Sterling turned to Sienna Everett to share the wisdom gained from years of experience. "See? You have to discipline your younger brother early. Once they’re grown up, you can’t land a hit anymore."

Keith Sterling was speechless.

’Great. The bonds of family, shattered yet again!’

’This life is impossible!’

Sienna Everett couldn’t stop laughing.

Julian Forrester had poured a glass of water for Sienna Everett, but seeing her laughing that hard, he decided against handing it to her. She might choke on it.

That evening, Claire Sterling stayed for dinner at Veridian Gardens. Afterward, she and Keith Sterling headed home, bickering and roughhousing all the way—or to be more precise, Keith was the only one getting hit.
