Chapter 311: Chapter 311: Face-Slapping 1, Looking Down on Sienna Everett’s Background?
Seeing Ophelia Warren walking toward her, Sienna Everett’s eyes narrowed slightly. This was the first time they had crossed paths since the artifact restoration incident that had left Ophelia completely discredited.
Ophelia stopped in her tracks the moment she saw Sienna. The usual gentleness on her face was gone, replaced by a surge of malice in her eyes.
Beside Ophelia stood a middle-aged man with a beer belly named Ken Woods. He was speaking in an eager tone. "Miss Warren, this is an excellent project. We’re currently negotiating a partnership with the Prescott Group, and we’re just one step away from closing the deal! I’ve been trying to contact the second young master of the Prescott Family, Ian Prescott, for the past few days to arrange a face-to-face meeting. Unfortunately, Mr. Prescott is just too busy..."
Ken stopped mid-sentence. Seeing Ophelia suddenly halt, he paused and followed her gaze, spotting Sienna Everett standing not far away.
Ken’s eyes lit up. Of course, he knew who Sienna was. However, he had only seen her on TV before. Having the privilege of seeing her in person today, he found her far more stunning than on screen.
But remembering the hostile relationship between Sienna and Ophelia, Ken concealed his awe and put on a stern face.
Sienna vaguely overheard Ken’s earlier words. They were negotiating a partnership with the Prescott Group and wanted to meet Ian face-to-face?
Seeing Ophelia’s expression, Ken knew she was displeased. He took a step forward and said in a heavily sarcastic tone, "Oh, if it isn’t Miss Everett, the Sienna Everett who’s been riding high in the limelight lately."
Several diners passing by in the corridor noticed the commotion and stopped to watch. One of the girls spotted Sienna and immediately began recording excitedly with her phone, clearly a fan of hers.
Ken sneered disdainfully. "Quite popular, aren’t you? What a pity. Anyone who can send their own biological parents to prison can’t be a good person! You’re an Everett through and through—all equally rotten!"
Before Sienna could reply, the girl recording with her phone protested indignantly, "What nonsense are you spouting! Morgan Everett and Shannon Everett tried to kidnap Isabelle Sutton! Sierra only called the police to have them arrested!"
Ken’s face was full of mockery. "By your logic, if Morgan lacks humanity and is nothing but scum, then your precious Sierra definitely isn’t any better! Haven’t you heard the old saying: ’Like father, like daughter’?"
The girl choked on her words, her face flushing with anger, but she couldn’t out-argue Ken.
Ever since the news of Morgan and Shannon’s imprisonment broke, rumors had circulated online claiming that since Sienna carried the Everett Family’s genes, she was probably just as wicked as the rest of the Everetts.
Sierra’s fans were furious when they saw those comments. How could that be true? Their Sierra didn’t grow up in the Everett Family and wasn’t corrupted by them!
Witnessing this, a faint glint of smugness flickered in Ophelia’s eyes. So what if her own reputation was ruined, causing her to be cursed out of the entertainment industry and despised by everyone? Sienna wasn’t doing that great either. As long as she still had the slightest tie to the Everett Family, Sienna could never be considered innocent!
Meanwhile, Sienna looked at the female fan defending her, feeling a rush of warmth in her heart. She gave the girl a reassuring glance before turning to the smug Ken Woods. Raising an eyebrow, she spoke in a cool, unhurried tone. "President Woods, it seems your parents aren’t much better. Otherwise, how could they have given birth to a joke like you?"
Ken’s face instantly turned livid, his brows furrowing fiercely. "Sienna Everett! What kind of nonsense are you spewing!"
Sienna smiled faintly, her eyes dripping with sarcasm. "Like father, like son. What, President Woods, have you already forgotten what you said just a moment ago?"
"You!" Ken hadn’t expected Sienna to be so sharp-tongued, completely rendering him speechless for a moment.
The girl nearby was so excited she almost jumped up and down. As expected of Sierra! Tear this beer-bellied old man named Woods to shreds!
Humiliated in public, Ken flew into a rage and cursed, "Sienna, everyone knows about the filthy things the Everett Family has done! You don’t actually think you’re innocent, do you? Just like Morgan and the rest of the Everett Family, you’re nothing but trash!"
The moment his words fell, Sienna’s gaze turned razor-sharp. "Say that again."
For some reason, Ken was startled by her glare and shuddered inexplicably. Then he thought it over. He was a grown man in his fifties or sixties. Was he really going to be intimidated by a little girl?
Puffing out his chest, Ken was about to continue shouting when he suddenly noticed a tall, handsome man walking around the corner of the corridor.
Ian... Ian Prescott!
Ken’s face instantly flushed with excitement. He had been negotiating a partnership with the Prescott Family recently and was only one step away from sealing the deal. He had been longing for a face-to-face meeting with Ian, but unfortunately, Ian had been too busy to schedule one. To think he would run into him here by such a stroke of luck!
Thrilled, Ken ran over, his beer belly bouncing. As he passed Sienna, he glared at her and barked, "Get out of the way! Stop blocking the path!"
Reaching Ian, Ken plastered on an obsequious smile and pulled a business card from his pocket. "Mr. Prescott, what a coincidence running into you here! I’m Ken Woods. I’ve been negotiating a partnership with the Prescott Group recently, and we’re just about to finalize it. I’ve been wanting to meet you, but you’ve been too busy. Since we’re both here today..."
Ian had no patience for Ken’s drivel. His eyes were fixed on Sienna, who was standing a short distance away. When Ken had rushed over just now, did he tell Sienna to get out of the way?
Ian narrowed his eyes dangerously. That half-smile on his face looked incredibly chilling. "Ken Woods, who were you yelling at just now?"
Hearing Ian initiate a conversation with him, Ken felt incredibly flattered. This was the first time! It seemed his approach had worked!
Eager to establish a connection with Ian, Ken immediately pointed at Sienna. "I was yelling at her! Mr. Prescott, I’m not sure if you’ve heard about the Everett Family’s scandals, but with parents and relatives like that, this Sienna Everett definitely isn’t any good! Just now, she even..."
Ken abruptly cut himself off mid-sentence. A sudden chill ran down his spine, radiating a freezing coldness that seemed to turn his blood to ice. Why did the way Ian look at him feel so off?
"Ken Woods," Ian said, his lips curled into a smile, yet his eyes gleamed with ruthlessness. "You really have a death wish, don’t you?"
A... a death wish?
Ken’s eyes widened in sheer terror. "Mr. Prescott, you... you..." What do you mean by that?
Before he could finish, Ian had already stepped past him, walking straight toward Sienna.
Stopping in front of her, the hostility in Ian’s eyes faded slightly. He asked softly, "Sienna, was he bullying you just now?"
Sienna glanced over at Ken.
Ken stood there with his mouth hanging open, utterly dumbfounded.
Sienna...?
Ian Prescott actually addressed Sienna Everett so intimately? And he looked so concerned about her, as if he was afraid she was being bullied?
