Chapter 67: Chapter 67: Sienna, Let Me Hold You for a While

Sienna Everett ran over at once, only to see Julian Forrester being supported by Samuel Sutton.

The man’s brow was furrowed tightly. He seemed unsteady on his feet, his expression utterly weak, as if he were in extreme discomfort.

"What’s wrong?" Sienna Everett’s eyes widened. "Weren’t you fine just a moment ago?"

"Miss Everett," Samuel Sutton spoke up at the perfect time, "Mr. Forrester isn’t feeling well. Could you please help him back to his room? I’ll go call the family doctor right away."

"...Okay." Sienna Everett reached out to support the man.

Samuel Sutton let go and hastily made his escape.

’What’s the point of calling a doctor?’

’With Miss Everett here, he’s guaranteed to be cured in no time!’

Sienna Everett supported Julian Forrester with both hands, studying his face. "How did you get so sick all of a sudden? Maybe we should just take you to the hospital."

The man looked at her flawless, porcelain-like face and shook his head weakly. "No, there’s no need. Just help me back to my room first."

Sienna had no choice but to help him upstairs.

Perhaps because he was so weak, his entire body leaned against her.

Sienna Everett found herself pressed against his body as she had to half-carry, half-support him back to his room.

The moment they got through the door, Julian Forrester lost his balance and stumbled toward her.

Sienna Everett reacted instinctively, reaching out and catching him in her arms.

Her arms wrapped around his lean, firm waist, and her forehead bumped against his chest. "Are you okay?" she asked hurriedly.

Julian’s chin came to rest on the crown of her soft, fragrant hair. A faint smile touched his lips as he spoke in a weak, pained voice, "Sorry. I lost my footing."

Sienna grew worried. "It’s that serious? You can’t even stand properly."

The man hummed softly, nuzzling her soft hair, his low, husky voice laced with a hint of vulnerability. "Sienna, let me hold you for a bit, okay?"

Sienna was deeply concerned. "I’m not a doctor. What good will hugging me do? I should just take you to the hospital."

’That Samuel Sutton, what’s taking him so long? Hasn’t he called the doctor yet?’

The next second, she heard the man’s low, weak voice from above her, sounding strangely pitiable. "I don’t want to go to the hospital. Sienna, stay with me for a while, hmm?"

Sienna Everett: "..."

’It’s true, he always hated going to the hospital when he was sick as a kid.’

Sienna was helpless against him. "Fine. I’ll help you get into bed first."

After helping him lie down, Sienna scurried over to the side, poured a cup of hot water, and brought it to him. "Here. Drink plenty of hot water."

Julian Forrester: "..."

He sat up, took the cup, and took two weak sips.

Then he lay back down again.

Sienna placed the cup aside and sat on the edge of the bed. "Where does it hurt?" she asked, still worried.

The man took her hand and placed it on his stomach. "It hurts here. Rub it for me."

Sienna Everett: "?"

Through the thin fabric of his white shirt, she could feel the warmth of his body and the firm, well-defined contours of his abs.

Her fingertips curled uncomfortably, as if she’d been burned.

She lifted her glistening eyes, about to pull her hand away, when she saw his brow furrowed slightly. He looked like he was in terrible pain but desperately trying to bear it.

’He’s in that much pain...’

The awkwardness in Sienna’s heart vanished in an instant.

She flattened her palm and began to gently rub his stomach. "Is this okay? Am I hurting you?"

Hearing this question, Julian Forrester raised an eyebrow. "No. It feels much better."

Sienna let out a sigh of relief. "I’ll keep rubbing for a little longer then."

A faint trace of pleasure bloomed in the depths of the man’s eyes.

However, after only a few minutes of her rubbing, Julian Forrester’s brow genuinely furrowed.

’Her small, soft hand, seemingly without bone, was gently rubbing his stomach... This was just asking for trouble.’

As Sienna continued to rub, her eyelid suddenly twitched. ’Why does it feel like his temperature is rising?’

’Don’t tell me he’s getting worse...’

Feeling uneasy, Sienna placed the back of her hand against his forehead to check his temperature. "Are you running a fever?"

But his temperature didn’t feel abnormal against the back of her hand.

Julian Forrester glanced at the hand on his forehead and suppressed the stirring within him. When he spoke again, his voice was noticeably more hoarse. "Is that an accurate way to take a temperature?"

Sienna paused, looking around. "Do you have a first-aid kit? Or a thermometer?"

He shook his head.

Sienna blinked. She pursed her crimson lips, nervously pinching her thumb and forefinger together. After a two-second hesitation, she suddenly leaned down and pressed her forehead to his.

As she leaned in, their foreheads touching intimately, Julian Forrester’s breathing hitched uncontrollably.

After a moment, Sienna felt a little relieved. "You don’t seem to have a fever."

With that, she straightened up to pull away.

But just as she began to pull away, the man’s warm hand shot out, grabbing her slender waist and pulling her back.

Caught off guard, Sienna fell on top of him. Her heart gave a little squeeze, and she immediately braced her hands on the bed. "What’s wrong?"

Their bodies pressed together. Julian Forrester’s dark eyes gazed directly into hers, his stare both fervent and gentle. "Sienna..."

Sienna’s heart skipped a beat.

After a pause, he spoke softly, his sexy, husky voice tinged with a weak, broken quality. "Lie with me for a little while, okay? I still feel sick."

Sienna’s eyes slowly widened. Her heart constricted uncontrollably, and her fingers tightened their grip on the bedsheets beneath her.

Lying on top of him, she could feel his strong, powerful heartbeat.

The rhythm seemed to send a faint electric current through her. A tingling numbness shot through Sienna’s entire body, and she scrambled off him without a second thought.

As she got up, the man sat up as well.

Her eyelashes fluttered as she asked, "Why are you getting up?"

"Since you won’t lie down, I’ll sit with you."

"..."

Sienna licked her glossy lips. "I’m going to go see what’s taking Samuel Sutton so long with the doctor."

"No need," the man said, leaning lazily against the headboard. He toyed with her hand, gently squeezing her soft, slender fingers. "I’m already much better."

Sienna frowned. "But you just said you were in pain."

Julian lifted his gaze to look at her, a slight smile playing on his thin lips. His expression was one of languid charm. "It’s all thanks to Sienna’s wonderful care."

"...Then just stay sitting here." Sienna tried to pull her hand back, but he held on.

He leaned over and took a small, square, midnight-blue gift box from a nearby drawer.

He held the box out to Sienna and opened the lid, revealing a pair of exquisite, beautiful earrings.

Sienna’s long, thick lashes fluttered.

’He’d given her a necklace before, and a bracelet.’

’The bracelet, which had two beautiful red gems, was on her wrist right now.’

"Why are you giving me a gift again?"

The man seemed to consider this seriously. He lowered his gaze, a soft, indulgent smile on his face. "I like buying things for you. Is that a good enough reason?"
