Chapter 86: Handmade by Older Brother
Chapter 86: Chapter 86: Handmade by Older Brother
The attendant was polite but firm. "Ma’am, the building behind me is accessible only to our VIP guests. My apologies."
VIP guests?
Shannon Everett’s expression immediately soured.
After all, anyone who could come to this club was already either rich or powerful, yet she hadn’t expected there to be another level of hierarchy within.
This place right in front of her was only accessible to VIP clients.
This was a clear statement that money alone wasn’t enough; one also needed status and standing.
Sienna Everett could get in, but she couldn’t.
This was undoubtedly a stab to Shannon Everett’s vanity, the one thing she could not bear.
Shannon Everett shot a fierce glare at the attendant blocking her path, inwardly fuming.
She hadn’t even seen who the man with Sienna Everett was, so of course, she couldn’t let it go.
Shannon Everett wanted to call Dustin Everett and get him to come over.
But if Dustin Everett came, Wyatt Everett would inevitably follow.
Given Wyatt Everett’s current blind protectiveness of Sienna Everett, he would definitely just ruin things.
After a moment’s thought, Shannon Everett took out her phone and called a man named Zane Cole.
This Zane Cole was one of her suitors. He came from a good family, but he was corpulent and crude-looking, not to mention a womanizer with a line of girlfriends a mile long. She would never deign to look at a man like that.
If she didn’t have a use for Zane Cole right now, Shannon Everett wouldn’t have bothered giving him the time of day.
The call went through and was answered almost immediately.
A frivolous, flirtatious voice came from the receiver. "Well, well, has Shannon finally remembered to give me a call?"
Shannon Everett suppressed her revulsion and said softly, "I’m at the club in the east side of town today. It’s the grand opening, and I suddenly remembered you live out east, so I wanted to invite you to come have some fun."
Zane Cole’s laugh grew even more lecherous. "My sweet little thing, since Shannon is inviting me, how could I do anything but happily obey?"
Shannon Everett felt so disgusted she wanted to vomit, but she still said, "Then hurry over, Mr. Cole. I’ll be waiting for you."
Less than fifteen minutes later, Zane Cole rushed over. He was wearing a loud floral shirt, his ruddy face slick with grease. When he smiled, the fat on his face squeezed his eyes into slits. "My beautiful Shannon, for you to invite me out... does this mean you’ve agreed to see where things go between us?"
Suppressing her disgust, Shannon Everett gave a gentle smile. "Mr. Cole, if you could help me with something, I would be eternally grateful."
Zane Cole loved it when women played along, so he asked in high spirits, "What kind of help?"
Shannon Everett raised her hand and pointed to the adjacent building. "Mr. Cole, only VIP guests can enter this place. With your influence, I’m sure you can get in and out freely. I was hoping to trouble you to help me find someone."
Shannon Everett’s words were clearly meant to flatter Zane Cole.
And sure enough, Zane Cole roared with laughter. "Of course I can get into a place like this! Don’t they know who I am? It’s just finding one person. I’ll find them for you! Who is my beautiful Shannon looking for?"
Shannon Everett quickly replied, "My sister, Sienna Everett, is inside. I’d like to ask Mr. Cole to see who she’s with. I’m very worried about her."
Zane Cole, of course, knew who Sienna Everett was. Besides, she was all the rage online right now.
The moment Sienna Everett’s name was mentioned, an image of her stunningly beautiful face appeared in Zane Cole’s mind, and he immediately felt a stir of desire.
Compared to Shannon Everett, Sienna Everett was a true beauty.
It was just a shame he’d never had the chance to get close to Sienna Everett. Otherwise, with his womanizing nature, he would have started pestering her long ago.
...
Julian Forrester led Sienna Everett inside.
Sienna Everett glanced around. It was a spacious, elegant hall with flowers of all kinds tastefully arranged, creating a refined atmosphere with a pleasant fragrance.
Several attendants stood in the corners, ready to step forward and serve at a moment’s notice.
Julian Forrester led Sienna Everett to a long table and they sat down.
An attendant brought over exquisite drinks and desserts, placing them one by one on the table.
Sienna Everett lowered her gaze and saw a few beautifully cut, exquisite pieces of green grape crystal cake on a white porcelain plate.
Julian Forrester sat across from her. His slender, fair fingers picked up a small silver fork, speared a small piece of cake, and brought it to her lips. "Have a taste?"
Sienna Everett shot him a look and turned her head away.
’We’re not on speaking terms. I’m not falling for your sugar-coated tricks.’
The man raised an eyebrow, let out a soft chuckle, and followed her movement with the fork.
Sienna Everett turned her head away again.
He pursued her with it again, seemingly determined to hold the fork there stubbornly until she ate. His low, husky voice was laced with a lazy smile. "Sierra, I spent a long time making this. Just one bite? Hmm?"
Sienna Everett froze for a second, then opened her mouth and took a grumpy bite.
The moment the taste hit her tongue, her clear, bright eyes lit up.
’So good!’
’How is his cooking this good?!’
She was about to ask him how he learned to make cakes, but just as she opened her mouth, she remembered she was unilaterally giving him the silent treatment and clamped her mouth shut with a huff.
Julian Forrester’s heart melted completely at her cuteness. A low, incredibly sexy laugh rumbled from his throat. "I learned a while ago."
That was back when he and Sienna Everett hadn’t had their falling out.
But Sienna Everett hadn’t liked their childhood engagement. She’d said he couldn’t cook and wasn’t her type, and that she wanted to find a man who could cook to be her future husband.
From then on, he started learning to cook in secret, nearly burning down the kitchen a few times in the process.
He knew Sienna Everett’s favorite was green grape crystal cake, and it had taken him several days of practice to finally master it.
But just before he could present it to Sienna Everett for a taste, he heard that she had fallen for a male classmate—for Maxwell Sawyer...
Julian Forrester held the small fork, speared another piece of cake, and brought it to Sienna Everett’s lips. "Have some more."
’Whatever happened in the past, right now, he and Sienna Everett were on the same marriage certificate.’
Sienna Everett didn’t want to be fed, so she took the small fork from his hand and started eating on her own.
After a moment, Julian Forrester’s phone rang.
Sienna Everett glanced over. The call was from Samuel Sutton, so it was probably work-related.
Julian Forrester didn’t get up to take the call elsewhere; he answered it right there.
He had nothing he needed to hide from Sienna Everett.
Sienna Everett ate a few more pieces of cake and took a sip of her drink. Seeing that Julian Forrester was on the phone, she felt a bit bored and got up to admire the flowers arranged around the hall.
After a little while, she turned back and found Julian Forrester staring at her.
He was lounging in his chair, holding the phone to his ear with one hand while the other rested casually on the table, his long, fair fingertips tapping the surface twice.
He listened to Samuel Sutton’s report, occasionally humming in response to show he was listening.
But the man’s gaze never left Sienna Everett. His eyes followed her wherever she went, deep and scorching, pouring out searing, lingering affection.
