Chapter 81: The Wealthy Murong Family

Once the three arrived, Bai Yue looked around and was surprised to see that the Murong family’s territory was enormous. In terms of size, it was about three times bigger than the Yang family’s territory.

The wealth of the Murong family spoke for itself, as managing this large of a territory was simply far too expensive. Every building was built sky-high and was heavily decorated with signs of wealth.

"The Murong family has always been the richest among our four families," Bai Yanfei explained after seeing Bai Yue’s amazement. "It doesn’t mean they are stronger, but they are much better in terms of managing money."

"What exactly do they do to earn all this money?" Bai Yue asked curiously.

"Nobody really knows where it all comes from, but they somehow acquire large amounts of wealth without being seen by anyone. From what most people guess, they are doing something horrific."

"Then doesn’t that mean putting an end to this family might be beneficial to the common people?"

"Perhaps, but I’m still not entirely sure what they do to gain wealth."

"Let’s just deal with them first and find out later. If they truly are doing something horrific, then it is just another reason to destroy the Murong family."

"You’re right. Let’s get started right away."

With experience from destroying the Yang family, Bai Yanfei was no longer as nervous as before. This time, without needing to take a deep breath to calm herself, she was ready to declare war.

"Those from the Murong family, come out here!" Bai Yanfei yelled. "We will destroy your family today for all you’ve done to the Bai family!"

A group of Immortals came out of the Murong family territory and were flying towards the sound that Bai Yanfei made.

The group wasn’t particularly big, but contained powerful Immortals that made up for the lack of numbers. In the front leading the group was a late-stage Immortal King. Behind him was an early-stage Immortal King and a couple of Golden Immortals.

In terms of power, this group, though small, was stronger than the Yang family forces from before. Their total combat power would have given Bai Yue and Bai Yanfei trouble if Jiang Yun wasn’t around.

"Are you the ones who dare threaten my Murong family?" the leading Immortal angrily shouted. "With just you two who are only at the early-stage of the Immortal King realm, what kind of destroying could you possibly do?"

"It shouldn’t matter to you if we are only early-stage Immortal Kings," Bai Yanfei noted. "Just know we are here to end your family today."

"Good, I like your confidence, but you need the power to back it up. I won’t allow you to leave alive now that you are already here. Just blame your arrogance for daring to come to my territory."

The head of the Murong family gestured for the people he brought to quickly deal with the intruders that dared to threaten the family.

The rest of the Murong family understood and quickly came forward to complete their assigned tasks. With so many Golden Immortals present and even an Immortal King, dealing with two early-stage Immortal Kings looked easy to them.

As the group, excluding the patriarch, came forward, Bai Yue and Bai Yanfei drew their weapons, intending to fight back. The Murong family members did the same and attacked first.

Despite Golden Immortals being a lower realm than Immortal Kings, with so many attacking just two people, Bai Yue and Bai Yanfei felt somewhat overwhelmed. Jiang Yun, though, didn’t involve himself yet, as he viewed this as good experience for the two women.

As the battle continued, Bai Yue made the first kill as her sword slashed one of the Golden Immortals in half, making him crash down into the ground.

Despite seeing their family member die, the rest of the Murong family was indifferent and continued their attacks. The patriarch of the Murong family didn’t bat an eye either, as the one who just died didn’t matter to him.

Still watching from the side, too lazy to bother to do it himself, the patriarch of the Murong family continued to watch as the two women struggled with so many attackers.

As more time passed, Bai Yanfei made the second kill, and the third went to Bai Yue. With some finally dying, the pressure lessened and the fight turned in favor of Bai Yue and Bai Yanfei.

More Immortals began to die, as they could no longer keep up with the power of two early-stage Immortal Kings.

Surprised by the results, the patriarch of the Murong family finally decided the two women were worth his attention. Just as he was about to move forward, an invisible force stopped him.

Unsure what was happening, the patriarch of the Murong family continued to struggle to try and break free.

Jiang Yun had stopped the head of the Murong family, as it was not his turn yet. The fight was about to reach its climax, and it was not for someone else to ruin.

As more Immortals continued to die, the only one left now was the only other Immortal King besides the patriarch.

Now fighting by himself, the early-stage Immortal King felt extreme pressure, as the two women together were stronger than him. Unable to fight back in any way, the early-stage Immortal King began to have his energy drained quickly and made more mistakes.

After a certain number of mistakes were made, the early-stage Immortal King now had a body full of injuries and could barely keep himself afloat. With nothing left to offer, Bai Yanfei dealt the finishing blow, dropping the Immortal King’s dead body to the ground.

Now being the only one left alive, the patriarch of the Murong family felt somewhat frantic. If it weren’t for an invisible force stopping him, his confidence would still remain, but now he was no longer sure.

"We can still talk about this," the patriarch of the Murong family offered. "As the head of the Murong family, I, Murong Xuan, have much to offer, and we can settle our differences without violence."

"No need," Bai Yanfei replied. "I’m only here to kill you and nothing else."

"But—"

"Shut up. This is not up for discussion. Just stay there patiently while we rest and recover our energy. It will be your turn once we’re ready."

Still wanting to say something, Murong Xuan felt his mouth forced shut, unable to make a sound. This caused Murong Xuan to become even more frantic, as he had no power to resist in any way.

Not wanting to wait for his death, Murong Xuan constantly used his Immortal energy to try and break free, but his actions did nothing but waste energy.

Finally, after seeing the two women were about to completely recover, Murong Xuan stopped struggling and decided to conserve his energy for what was to come.

A little while later, Bai Yue and Bai Yanfei completely recovered all of their energy and felt good as new.

"I’m ready," Bai Yue reported, turning to Jiang Yun.

"I’m also ready," Bai Yanfei stated.

Having no further reason to keep Murong Xuan frozen, Jiang Yun nodded to the two women and released him.

Now with his freedom returned, Murong Xuan tried to take advantage and attack first. His first target was Bai Yue, as she was younger and should be weaker.

With his full power, Murong Xuan pulled out an Immortal King level sword and slashed down on Bai Yue. To defend, Bai Yue did the same and used her full strength to slash back.

The clash created a screeching metal sound as the force echoed throughout the sky. The clash initially ended with nobody having an advantage, but as Murong Xuan had a superior cultivation level, he started to push forward.

Expecting this confrontation to go his way, Murong Xuan forgot that this was not a one-on-one fight. Feeling a chill behind him, a blade came down and slashed his back.

Holding in the pain, Murong Xuan continued to push forward, wanting to at least deal some damage to Bai Yue.

The attack didn’t end there, as Bai Yanfei slashed down again with greater force the second time.

Having no choice but to retreat, Murong Xuan backed away, as getting another injury for a small advantage wasn’t worth the cost. Now on his back was a deep gash that bled heavily.

Quickly trying to put a healing pill in his mouth, Murong Xuan was interrupted by another attack from Bai Yanfei, who didn’t want to give him the chance. Not being able to heal his injury, Murong Xuan struggled to block another blow.

Ignoring the injury on his back, Murong Xuan pressed forward, wanting to finish the fight quickly before he bled to death.

Unfortunately for Murong Xuan, he wasn’t given such a chance, as Bai Yue and Bai Yanfei locked him in a perpetual fight to exhaust him to death.

Finally, after a long back and forth, the strain was too much for Murong Xuan, and he made a large mistake mid-attack. Taking advantage, Bai Yue and Bai Yanfei both delivered a fatal attack simultaneously.

As his death approached, Murong Xuan felt his death wasn’t justified and couldn’t come to terms with it. With his body being cut in half and dying, Murong Xuan’s dying thoughts were left unresolved.

With the battle ended, Bai Yue and Bai Yanfei took a quick break to rest before continuing to attack the rest of the Murong family that remained down below.
