“Phew…”

Lilia let out a long breath, the heart that had been stuck in her throat finally settling back down.

If she had really come out wearing that outrageously embarrassing outfit, she might as well have ended her career in the Black Sea Treasury on the spot—better to smash her head into tofu and preserve some dignity.

A cool sensation came from her forehead.

The Eye of the Abyss that Hera had given her had merged into her mental sea, continuously emitting a refreshing aura. The lingering dizziness in her mind faded by more than half.

The illusion was broken.

But the sensation on her body still remained.

That vindictive woman.

Gritting her teeth, Lilia rubbed her thigh—which bore no visible marks—and mentally cursed a certain Queen from head to toe a hundred times.

She turned back.

The iron door was now tightly sealed.

No matter how she pushed, it didn’t budge.

“Well, that was expected.”

Lilia dusted off her hands and didn’t dwell on it.

According to Hera, once the core logic of the illusion here was broken, one could exit—but each person seemed to enter an independent space.

Bulara and Xiao Hong were still outside.

Dora still hadn’t made any movement.

That was the real problem.

That dragon had nothing in her head except eating and sleeping. If she had fallen into a targeted illusion, she was probably still drooling inside.

Hopefully she had at least a bit of sense.

Lilia sighed and turned to continue forward along the only path.

This corridor seemed endless.

The ground beneath her feet was soft, sinking with each step, squeezing out sticky liquid.

Squish.

Squish.

The sound was disgusting, and the air carried a strange mix of rust and sea stench.

After walking for about five or six minutes—

A strange noise suddenly came from ahead.

Thud.

Thud.

Thud.

The sound was dull and extremely rhythmic.

Someone was smashing a wall.

The force was strong enough that even the ground beneath her feet trembled slightly.

Lilia instantly became alert. She gripped the pitch-black short blade at her waist in reverse, pressing her body against the fleshy wall, suppressing her breathing to the lowest level.

In a place like this, aside from that eyeball-covered keeper, who knew what else might appear?

She moved silently along the wall toward the source of the sound.

Turning a corner—

Her view suddenly opened up.

At the end of the corridor, in a dead end, a small familiar figure was crouching in the shadows with its back to her.

Dora.

The cloak that barely fit her in the first place had already been torn into strips, exposing the black dragon-scale armor underneath.

This violent little dragon girl was repeatedly smashing her head against the wall in front of her.

That wall—cast from some unknown metal with extreme hardness—had been dented into a basin-sized crater by her sheer force.

As she rammed into it, she muttered incoherently.

“Liars… all liars…”

Lilia’s hand holding the short blade froze midair.

The corner of her mouth twitched violently.

She had thought this idiot was locked in a life-and-death battle with some top-tier monster, or trapped in some hellish slaughter.

What kind of grievance did it take to make a dragon cry this miserably?

Lilia put away her blade, rolled her eyes helplessly, and walked over.

“Hey.”

She extended a finger and poked Dora’s back.

“Stop ramming it. At this rate, the wall’s going to collapse, and then that eyeball monster will come asking us for compensation.”

The crouching figure stiffened suddenly.

The head that had been smashing into the wall froze midair.

Dora slowly, mechanically turned around.

That once somewhat cute little face was now covered in tears and snot, her eyes filled with despair and grievance.

It was pitiful.

The moment she saw Lilia, Dora froze.

She blinked, as if she couldn’t believe it.

“Lea… Leader?”

She sniffed loudly, her voice trembling.

“It’s me.”

Lilia crossed her arms, looking annoyed.

“What are you acting out? A tragic drama? If you want extra food, just say it. Don’t do this kind of—”

Before she could finish—

A blur flashed before her eyes.

An overwhelming pressure rushed toward her.

“Waaahhh! Leader~!”

Dora let out an earth-shaking wail, launching herself forward and crashing into Lilia.

There was no time to dodge.

At this distance, no one could evade a face-to-face charge from a dragon.

Bang!

Lilia felt like she had been hit head-on by a speeding heavy truck.

“Pff—”

She nearly spat out a mouthful of blood.

Before she could recover, a pair of iron-like arms tightly wrapped around her waist. That solid dragon head buried itself directly into her chest, rubbing frantically.

“Wuwuwu Leader, you’re not dead! That’s great!”

“It was all fake inside!”

“It was so scary! I don’t want to play anymore! I want to go home!”

Dora cried her heart out, smearing tears and snot all over Lilia’s already not-so-clean hunting outfit.

If this were any other time, Lilia would’ve kicked her flying long ago.

But now—

“Let… let go…”

Lilia’s face turned green as she weakly slapped Dora’s back, her throat producing a dying rasp.

“I won’t! Even if you beat me to death, I won’t let go!”

Not only did Dora not loosen her grip, she hugged even tighter.

She rubbed her face against Lilia desperately, venting all the grievances of her life.

“I want to follow the Leader!”

Crack.

Lilia clearly heard her ribs protesting.

“Dora~!”

With the last bit of her strength, Lilia roared.

“Let go right now! If you don’t, tonight’s dinner is canceled! And you can forget about ever eating my braised meat again!”

That move worked instantly.

The arms tightly wrapped around Lilia’s waist loosened at once.

Lilia slid down along the wall, dropping to her knees and gasping for air, feeling like the air had never been so sweet.

She clutched her nearly broken waist, raised her head, and glared fiercely at the culprit still sniffling in front of her.

Dora stood there pitifully, her two index fingers poking against each other in front of her chest.

“Leader… are you okay?”

She cautiously glanced at Lilia’s expression, sniffing again.

“Actually… I didn’t use that much strength…”

Dora shrank her neck, not daring to say another word.
