After Pampering Her 5 Beast Husbands, the Villainess Struck It Rich
Chapter 237: Acquaintance
Yue Junxiao and the others stayed in Fierce Tiger City for about a week. They explored the entire city and went on a massive shopping spree for Bai Zhi, which thoroughly satisfied his craving to buy things for his wife.
While he was still in Fierce Tiger City, Hu Zhen also took him to meet with the military and various influential factions.
Knowing he wouldn’t be staying long, they didn’t systematically teach him anything.
‘I’m still young, I can keep at it for a few more years. We only just got Xiao’er back. I should let him enjoy himself for a few more years first.’
A week later, on the day Yue Junxiao and his group left, Hu Zhen and his wife practically emptied out the City Lord Mansion for them. They had arrived with an empty Starship and were now returning fully loaded.
After spending these few days together, Yue Junxiao truly felt his parents’ love for him. The last bit of grievance in his heart finally dissipated, and calling them “Father” and “Mother” now came naturally.
Hu Zhen even transferred another huge sum of Star Coins into Yue Junxiao’s account. Yue Junxiao counted it—a full 100 million!!
Not only that, but the most crucial part was Hu Zhen’s magnanimous declaration, “It’s just a little spending money. Don’t worry about saving it. If you run out, just tell Father, and I’ll send you more.”
That was 100 million!!
But the way Hu Zhen said it, 100 million sounded as simple as one million!
‘And the key part was that this was just *spending money*. If he spent it all, he could just ask for more!’
For the first dozen or so years of his life, Yue Junxiao couldn’t even eat his fill, let alone have Star Coins. He’d never had much money to his name.
Before boarding the Starship, Yue Junxiao hugged Hu Zhen and Hu Yao, his voice thick with emotion as he cried out, “Father, Mother.”
Hu Zhen’s eyes were already brimming with tears, just like Yue Junxiao’s. If no one had been watching, his dignity as a City Lord would have been long gone.
In the end, it was Hu Yao who sighed and said, “Alright, get on the Starship. Don’t keep them waiting.”
Yue Junxiao took two steps, then suddenly turned back and asked, “Do you two want to come with us to the Main Star for a while?”
And so, not only did the Young Master leave, but he also took the City Lord and Lady of Fierce Tiger City with him!!
「Back on the Main Star.」
The moment Hu Zhen stepped off the Starship, he looked around and sighed, “I haven’t been here in years. This place has really changed.”
Yue Junxiao had only asked if they wanted to visit the Main Star, but Hu Zhen automatically interpreted it as his son being unable to bear leaving them and wanting them to follow. How could he possibly refuse?!
Naturally, he agreed immediately without a moment’s hesitation.
He didn’t even go back to the City Lord Mansion, just boarded the Starship right then and there. He even notified his subordinates while they were already on their way.
But they were also very considerate. Although Hu Yan and the others insisted they stay together, Hu Zhen and Hu Yao knew that Bai Zhi and the rest might feel uncomfortable, so they chose to buy a house nearby instead.
Even so, they didn’t stay for long. After two or three days, they said something had come up in Fierce Tiger City and returned home.
After that, Bai Zhi inspected her shopping mall and the store she co-owned with Xiao Yu and Xing Fan. She also purified a batch of items for the Grey Family, then purchased a large number of construction robots, planning to properly develop her star system.
She had a good amount of capital now, so she could finally start building what she had planned.
The robots worked incredibly fast, completing more than half the construction in no time. One day, while they were out shopping, Lang Qiu suddenly noticed a Beastman selling things on the side of the road who looked a little familiar.
Taking a closer look, his expression changed drastically, and he strode over.
Yan Yichen noticed him falling behind and immediately called out, “Lang Qiu, where are you going?”
But Lang Qiu didn’t even turn his head, walking straight up to a Beastman who, despite his tattered clothes, carried himself with an upright and dignified posture.
Without looking up, the man said, “These are the only pelts I have. Take whichever one you like. They’re all five hundred Star Coins.”
Lang Qiu called out, “Lang Yue.”
Hearing that long-lost, familiar voice, Lang Yue’s head shot up. When he saw that the person in front of him was indeed who he thought it was, he immediately stood up and exclaimed with excitement, “Chief!!”
Lang Qiu asked in confusion, “What are you doing here? And selling these things?”
Lang Yue said, “After you left, we left too. I looked for you for a long time, went to many places. I never thought I’d run into you on the Main Star.”
Hearing this, Lang Qiu’s brow furrowed. “Why? Were they not good to you? They promised me they would take care of you all!! Where are the others? Why are you alone?”
At Lang Qiu’s questions, the light in Lang Yue’s eyes instantly dimmed. “After you left, they showed their true colors. They said they would treat everyone equally, but that wasn’t the case at all. We had to turn in everything we hunted, but the supplies we were given in return were meager. We originally planned to save up some Star Coins to come find you, but we ended up with almost nothing. Forget saving Star Coins, we barely had enough to eat and drink. He just wanted to force us to leave on our own so he wouldn’t be condemned for it. We also truly missed you, Chief, so we left to try and find you, but we couldn’t.”
“On our journey to find you, there was an avalanche. Lang Tai and the others passed away. Only Xiao Yu and I are left. He got sick a while ago, but because we had limited Star Coins, I couldn’t take him to a clinic to see a Healer. He’s bedridden in the apartment we rented now.”
As he spoke, his eyes instantly reddened. “Chief, you entrusted them to me before you left, but I failed to take care of them. I’ve failed your trust.”
Lang Qiu sighed. “Don’t blame yourself. You’ve already done very well.”
Then he added, “Pack up these pelts and come with me.”
His words had barely faded when he heard Yue Junxiao ask curiously, “Lang Qiu, who’s this? Is this a Beastman you know?”
Only then did Lang Qiu remember that he had just abandoned Bai Zhi and the others. ‘And now, if I want to bring someone back, I’ll need Hu Yan and the others’ permission.’
Lang Qiu turned to them and gave a simple introduction. “This is a former subordinate of mine, Lang Yue. I’d like to bring them back with me.”
Yue Junxiao replied without a second thought, “Of course. If there’s one thing our home has, it’s plenty of rooms.”
After saying that, he remembered they were currently living in Hu Yan’s house, so he turned and asked him, “That’s okay, right?”
Hu Yan nodded slightly. “It’s your home too. You don’t need to ask for permission to bring anyone back.”
Bai Zhi considered it for a moment. ‘If he were to stay in a house full of strangers, he’d definitely feel uncomfortable.’ She then said, “If they don’t want to live with us, my house is empty. They could stay there. It’s just that they might have to travel back and forth, which wouldn’t be as convenient.”
Hearing this, an indescribably complex emotion welled up inside Lang Qiu. He said in a slightly hoarse voice, “Okay, I’ll ask them.”
Lang Yue could see Lang Qiu’s current circumstances and worried that their appearance would cause him trouble. He said directly, “Chief, we have a place to stay.”
‘Even though they all missed their Chief and wanted to live with him, if it required him to humble himself and beg, they would rather live in poorer conditions and eat worse food outside than be a burden to him.’
