After the Divorce, My Wife and I Were Both Reborn
Chapter 382: Safe Period
Chapter 382 -378: Safe Period
In the blink of an eye, exam week and its quiet routine came to an end. Summer vacation had arrived for the universities in the Imperial Capital.
Thanks to Jiang Xia’s arrangements, several of their animation major classmates started internships at Qitian Animation. If they proved their skills and performed exceptionally well over the summer, there was a chance they could be offered full-time positions ahead of schedule.
Meanwhile, Cui Jiaying and Si Si, after working at D Station for half a semester, had spent a long time observing and learning. They finally decided to become content creators in the film and television category.
The two of them ran a channel together. Si Si was in charge of detailed breakdowns of movies, TV shows, and anime, while Cui Jiaying started her own roast series and occasionally dabbled in making humorous remix videos.
They almost always appeared on camera together, using a unique Q&A format. Coupled with their good looks and excellent video quality, they had already gained nearly a thousand followers after releasing just two videos. If they kept at it, they could surely build a large and loyal fanbase.
However, this line of work required them to watch an enormous amount of content and was very time-consuming due to all the viewing and editing involved.
Therefore, after careful consideration, Si Si and Cui Jiaying submitted their resignations to Jiang Xia.
“Have you two thought this through?” Jiang Xia asked, sitting at his desk and looking at the two of them.
Si Si nodded. “We’ve been thinking about it for a long time. Life is full of choices, and this time, Yingying and I are choosing to do something we’re passionate about.”
“In that case, I approve. In this information age, running a successful social media channel can be just as good as a regular job, if not better.”
Jiang Xia smiled and then signed his name.
“I’ve watched your videos. The quality is high and the content is solid. In this category, there will eventually be dozens of content creators with over a million fans. Keep up the great work and put your heart into every video. I have high hopes for you two.”
“Over a million fans? Really?” Cui Jiaying blinked, her face lighting up with joy.
“Over the next couple of years, smartphones are going to explode in popularity, and 3G will be upgraded to the faster, cheaper 4G network. Everyone will be able to watch D Station on their phones, and our daily active users will be in the tens of millions. With a user base that massive, will it really be that hard for two talented creators like you to get a million fans?” Jiang Xia said with a smile.
“You said it yourself, Boss. If we don’t hit a million followers, I’m going to go tattle on you to Yanwan!” Cui Jiaying threatened with a mischievous giggle.
Lin Yanwan, who was standing nearby, couldn’t help but feel a little exasperated.
“Jiang Xia’s right,” Lin Yanwan said earnestly. “Si Si, Yingying, keep at it. Work hard to grow your fanbase. Before long, you’ll start reaping the rewards of all that traffic. We’re on the cusp of a huge internet boom, and as some of the first content creators, you’ll be the first to cash in. But the most important thing is that you have to stick with it!”
“Boss, do you have any suggestions for our current direction?” Si Si asked.
Jiang Xia frowned in thought for a few seconds. He had countless ideas, but finding one that fit the two of them… ‘Wait a minute.’ He suddenly thought of a certain creator with seven or eight million fans, known as “Liangzai.”
‘His “Film Connoisseur” series pulled in countless fans.’
“A huge secret to growing your fanbase is interaction. You should try a ‘Media Detective’ series. Fans will leave comments asking for your help finding the source of a screenshot, a news clip, or a song, and all you have to do is record the process of finding it. Add your own commentary and roasts, and believe me, if you do this series well, your follower count will skyrocket.”
Si Si nodded, committing this million-follower idea to memory.
‘After all, an idea from the boss of D Station couldn’t possibly be a bad one.’
“Boss, and you too, Yanwan,” Cui Jiaying said with a grin. “Si Si and I want to treat you to dinner tonight. Any chance you could make it? Qiuting and Su Qing are coming too.”
“A celebration for your resignation, I take it?” Lin Yanwan shot her an exasperated look.
“Yup! Hehe.”
“Of course. If you two are treating, we’ll definitely be there,” Jiang Xia chuckled.
“Wow! Thanks for saying yes, Boss! It’s a date, then! We’ll see you tonight!”
“Alright, off you go. Just remember to drop off a copy of your resignation with HR on your way out.”
“Mhm!”
Watching the two of them leave, the office slowly quieted down.
Lin Yanwan walked up behind Jiang Xia and began to thoughtfully massage his temples. When she wasn’t busy, she was sometimes more like his secretary.
“When we have a moment, we should leave a comment on their video or share it. That’ll give them some promotion and help them build some early buzz,” Jiang Xia said softly, his eyes closed.

Jiang Xia stiffened. He opened his eyes to see the teasing, half-smile on his girlfriend’s face. “Ahem, honey, what secret shout-out? That never happened.”
“Oh, really? Then why did so many people online tag me, saying my fiancé was cheating and that I should go catch him in the act?” Lin Yanwan said with a grin.
Jiang Xia looked slightly embarrassed. ‘Of course he wasn’t going to admit to cheating. It never even happened.’
“Honey, you’ve got it all wrong! I just happened to scroll past her video and, for old times’ sake as deskmates, gave her a little bit of advice. That’s all.”
“‘Helping an old deskmate’? I don’t think so. ‘Giving her a shout-out’? That’s more like it.”
“No! Absolutely not!” Jiang Xia shook his head vigorously, desperate to clear his name.
Lin Yanwan chuckled to herself. “I’m just teasing you. Why are you so nervous? I’m not that petty.”
As she spoke, her hands slowly moved from his temples to his shoulders, kneading and squeezing with a little bit of force.
“She’s a content creator in the law category, right? What path did you point her toward?”
“The lawless fanatic Zhang San, of course,” Jiang Xia replied, as if it were the only logical answer.
‘In his previous life, Professor Luo Xiang was the biggest star on B Station, with over 25 million fans. His lecture videos provided a living for countless content creators in the law category. Anyone who could master even ten or twenty percent of his style had enough material to last a lifetime.’
“That’ll be difficult,” Lin Yanwan said, shaking her head. “She’s still just a university student who’s new to law. She doesn’t have the deep knowledge base yet, so her words won’t carry much authority.”
“I know. That’s why I just told her to do case breakdowns or adapt examples from her professor’s lectures for her videos. Her content is already doing great—every video gets tens of thousands, sometimes even over a hundred thousand views,” Jiang Xia said.
“And you still say you’re not secretly following her?” Lin Yanwan narrowed her eyes.
Jiang Xia’s breath caught in his throat. He looked completely awkward. “Honey, you have to believe me, I really just stumbled upon it by chance.”
“Hmph!”
She turned her head slightly, and after pursing her lips, her voice held a trace of shyness.
“It’s my safe period today.”
