Wang Ming held Shen Ying tightly. Countless scenes he had only dreamed of had finally become reality.

For a couple half a year into a long-distance relationship, a passionate embrace was the best kind of reunion.

"Ying, I missed you so much."

"I missed you too, you dork."

Shen Ying wrapped her legs around his waist and lifted her face to him. A few glistening beads of sweat dotted the tip of her cute nose. She gave a playful little laugh before letting go and planting her feet back on the ground.

She looked Wang Ming up and down, smiling softly. "Why are you looking so handsome today? Did you get all dressed up just for me?"

"Heh heh heh." Wang Ming just scratched his head and grinned foolishly.

A compliment from the one you love is the best praise in the world.

"So, where are we going now?" Shen Ying asked.

"Are you hungry? We could go get something to eat first."

Shen Ying shook her head. "I’m not hungry. I just had a meal on the plane not too long ago."

"Then let’s go to the hotel first to drop off your luggage."

At the mention of the hotel, Shen Ying blushed for some reason.

"Okay, whatever you say..." she murmured, nodding gently.

"Ying, let me get your suitcase."

Shen Ying handed over the suitcase, and her hand naturally followed.

Wang Ming froze for a second. He felt the softness of her small hand and gently took it in his. As they walked, their hands shifted a few times before their fingers finally interlaced tightly.

In the taxi, Wang Ming held Shen Ying’s hand in his lap, a goofy, happy grin plastered on his face. It all felt like a dream.

Shen Ying, meanwhile, spent the entire ride looking out the window. It was her first time in the Imperial Capital, and her eyes were wide with curiosity. Just from a glance, it was far more bustling than Yu Du.

"Ying, won’t your parents have something to say about you not coming home for summer break?"

Hearing her boyfriend’s question, Shen Ying turned back to him. "Nope. I told them I was getting a summer job, so I wouldn’t be coming home."

A bright smile bloomed on her face. "I can stay here in the Imperial Capital with you all the way until school starts."

Wang Ming blinked, his heart completely overflowing with happiness.

"So, where’s the company?"

"It’s in Tsinghua Science Park, right next to Tsinghua University. The hotel I booked is nearby, too. Want to go see it?"

Shen Ying’s voice became a little quieter. "Will we run into Jiang Xia and the others?"

Wang Ming glanced at the time. It was just past six. He thought for a moment before saying, "We usually get off work at six, but it’s possible they’re working overtime."

"Old Jiang, are you guys still at the office?"

"You came all this way to the Imperial Capital, so have Old Wang show you a good time. You can start work in a few days."

Shen Ying turned to look at Wang Ming, who couldn’t help but grin. "Old Jiang gave me five days off."

Shen Ying nodded shyly.

A little over half an hour later, the taxi arrived at the hotel. After checking in at the front desk with their IDs, Shen Ying and Wang Ming took the elevator upstairs.

After opening the door with the key card, she took in the layout, the decor, and the large floor-to-ceiling window. She said in surprise, "You dork, how much did you spend on this hotel? It’s so nice."

Wang Ming blinked. "It’s fine. It wasn’t expensive, only about five hundred a night."

"Five hundred isn’t expensive?!" Shen Ying shot him a glare. "So you’re making money now and starting to get a big head, is that it?"

Wang Ming looked wronged. "You came all this way to the Imperial Capital. I just wanted to give you the best experience possible, I wasn’t thinking about anything else. Besides, another reason is that it’s close to the office."

"Alright, alright. I know you’re just being good to me."

Shen Ying gave him a hug, then walked over to the floor-to-ceiling window. "Can we see the office from here?"

"We can." Wang Ming nodded, walking to her side and pointing. "See those two identical twin towers over there? That’s Tsinghua Science Park. The office is on the fifteenth floor of the one on the right."

Shen Ying followed his finger and could indeed see the Science Park clearly. ’To think that the fledgling company the four of them started in high school had not only found its footing in the Imperial Capital but had also grown so big...’ The thought filled her with emotion.

’And this would be her stage, too, after she graduated.’

"Dork, just wait a few more years for me." Shen Ying lifted her face to him, her gaze meeting his determined eyes.

"I mean, after I graduate, I can stay in the Imperial Capital for good. I can work with you all, live with you all... and be with you."

Wang Ming broke into a goofy chuckle.

Shen Ying slowly leaned her head on his shoulder, a soft murmur reaching his ear. "Dork... want to hold me?"

Wang Ming’s breath caught in his throat. He lowered his gaze to Shen Ying’s blushing face, inhaling her sweet scent. His heart began to pound nervously in his chest.

He swallowed hard and wrapped his arms around Shen Ying, pulling her gently into his embrace. This wasn’t like the hug at the airport, under the watchful eyes of the crowd. This was a private, tight embrace, and a palpable intimacy quickly filled the air between them, filling their hearts.

"Ying... I like you so much," Wang Ming murmured.

"I like you too. I like you so, so much." She buried her face in his chest, nuzzling against him and breathing in his unique scent. "That’s why I couldn’t wait to come find you the second my exams were over."

She tilted her head up slightly to gaze into his eyes, a flicker of shyness in their dreamy depths.

Their gazes met. Shen Ying slowly closed her eyes, her long lashes trembling in anticipation.

His gaze swept over her clear face, finally resting on her delicate lips.

Wang Ming held his breath, trying to suppress the heart that felt like it would leap out of his chest. Trembling, he slowly lowered his head and captured her enticing lips in a kiss.
