After the Divorce, My Wife and I Were Both Reborn
Chapter 419 - 413: Villa Finalized
Chapter 419: Chapter 413: Villa Finalized
By design, the dining room, living room, and tea room formed a single, cohesive space, with materials, lines, and shapes subtly delineating their functions. The three areas faced one another across the open floor plan, integrated yet distinct.
Wang Xue gave the couple a meticulous tour of the home’s interior. As Jiang Xia and Lin Yanwan looked around the first floor, they found they both loved the overall design style.
The back of the house opened directly onto a small garden filled with a wide variety of flowers. A private swimming pool was right beside it, perfect for taking a dip whenever the weather got hot.
"The bedrooms are upstairs," Wang Xue explained, leading them up a spiral staircase in the corner. "The first floor is the main living space, while the second and third floors are dedicated to relaxation. The entire house is equipped with a smart, motion-activated lighting system."
The three bedrooms on the second floor each had a distinct style. The master bedroom featured a nearly-white color scheme, complemented by a light gray carpet and solid-colored bedsheets, maintaining a minimalist aesthetic.
Lin Yanwan lay on her back on the bed. It felt as comfortable and high-quality as a five-star hotel.
A secondary bedroom, meanwhile, used a deep blue-gray palette. A few decorative paintings adorned the walls, and the vividly colored bedding gave it a strong, individual character. A soft, plush carpet covered the floor, feeling wonderful underfoot.
The study featured a stylish black-and-white color scheme, giving the space a sharp, defined feel. For now, it held only an empty bookshelf, a desk, and a simple bed for taking a short rest when tired from work.
The third floor was dedicated to entertainment, featuring a gym, a gaming room, and a large terrace.
"President Jiang, during your work breaks, you can come out to the terrace to look at the flowers, breathe in some fresh air, or just have a good stretch," Wang Xue said. "A good work-life balance is the best form of relaxation."
Jiang Xia stood on the terrace, his view expansive. He could see all the activity in the villa’s surroundings.
"What about the basement? What’s it like?" he asked.
"The basement has a single level, with a storage room, a home theater, a karaoke room, and a room for a live-in housekeeper," said Wang Xue.
The young couple followed her to take a look. The layout was excellent. Lin Yanwan even tested the karaoke room’s soundproofing and found the developer had used high-quality, substantial materials.
Back in the first-floor living room, Wang Xue brewed them a pot of Da Hong Pao tea. Jiang Xia leaned back on the sofa, turned to his wife, and asked, "Babe, what do you think?"
Lin Yanwan blinked. "It’s really nice."
It was a villa, after all—so much better than the small house they had bought with a mortgage in their past life. The comfort level was maxed out. The only thing was that a house this big might feel a bit empty with just the two of them.
’But their parents and Xiao Man will all be coming over soon. The three bedrooms will be just enough.’
"I think it’s great, too," Jiang Xia said with a nod.
The main reason was that even though he had lived two lives, he still hadn’t seen much of the world. His frame of reference, just like Lin Yanwan’s, was the house from their previous life.
From that perspective, this little villa was absolute perfection.
"President Jiang, if you’re not satisfied, there are several larger, single-family villas in this same district, all over three hundred square meters. Would you like to take a look at them?" Wang Xue asked.
Jiang Xia shook his head. A floor area of over 300 square meters was a bit too big. It would usually be just him and his wife, plus a housekeeper at most. The size of this smaller villa was just right.
When the holidays came, they could invite their parents and his sister-in-law to stay. With more people around, it wouldn’t feel so empty.
"Sister Wang, could you tell me more about the specifics of this villa?" Jiang Xia asked, taking a sip of his tea.
"Of course."
Wang Xue nodded, took out a calculator, and said, "This villa’s first floor is 203 square meters, the second is 132, the third is 218, and the basement is 186, for a total area of 739 square meters. President Jiang, if you’re serious about buying, the price, including renovations, is 23,000 yuan per square meter. The total comes to about 16.8 million yuan. The courtyard, garden, and pool are all included."
Jiang Xia silently took a sip of tea. Compared to the prices in the future he remembered, where it would easily be seventy or eighty thousand per square meter, this wasn’t expensive. Plus, his first impression was a strong one; he really did love this house.
Besides, as soon as they signed the contract and the property was handed over, it was move-in ready. That was an important factor for him.
"Alright, we’ll take this one," he agreed at once. "I’ll have someone arrange the contract signing with you shortly. I have only one condition: make the handover as fast as possible. I’m in a hurry to move."
A joyful expression spread across Wang Xue’s face. On a 16.8 million yuan deal, even if her commission was only two percent, that was still over 300,000 yuan!
’Big bosses are so decisive! He didn’t even try to haggle, just sealed the deal right away!’
"No problem, President Jiang! I’ll arrange for my team to liaise with yours right away. We’ll complete the handover as quickly as possible after the contract is signed."
"Then I’ll leave it in your hands." Jiang Xia stood up and shook her hand with a smile.
"Of course, of course."
Wang Xue nodded hurriedly, her face flushing slightly from the excitement.
"President Jiang, to be honest, I’m also a huge fan of *Cat and Mouse* and *Pokemon*. I watch every new episode."
"Oh, really?"
Jiang Xia chuckled. He hadn’t expected to run into a fan of his animation studio out here. It just went to show how influential the works produced by Qitian Animation had become.
"Since we’re practically old friends now, I was wondering if Sister Wang could give me a little discount on the villa?"
Wang Xue’s expression immediately stiffened.
"President Jiang... this... 23,000 yuan per square meter is already the lowest price I was able to get approved," she said with a wry smile.
In fact, Wang Xue wasn’t lying. She had a very good impression of Jiang Xia’s approachable demeanor and hadn’t planned on trying to squeeze a huge profit out of him.
Prices in the Tianfu Imperial Scenic Villa District in Haidian District had been hyped up to around 15,000 yuan per square meter when construction started last year. With the domestic economy’s continuous recovery, housing prices were changing daily. If another agent had shown the house today, they might have quoted a price of 27,000 or even higher.
Jiang Xia shook his head and laughed. "Sister Wang, don’t take it seriously. I was just joking with you."
Over ten million yuan wasn’t a huge sum for him at the moment. He just couldn’t be bothered to flip houses. Otherwise, if he waited a few years for prices to increase four or fivefold and then sold it, he would make an absolute killing.
Since he planned to live here himself, he didn’t want to take out a loan. He was perfectly capable of paying the full amount in one go.
The loan interest rates at this time were over 7%, which was ridiculously high. Even though he was earning money at an incredible rate, the thought of paying over a hundred thousand a month in interest was still painful.
On the way home with his wife, Lin Yanwan had a constant, beaming smile on her face.
"Are you this happy just because we’re moving into a villa?" Jiang Xia couldn’t help but laugh.
Speaking of which, this was the first time since establishing Qitian Company that he had planned to spend such a large sum of money on himself. Dropping nearly seventeen million yuan at once gave him a satisfying thrill, like he was spending money like water.
"Of course! It’s a single-family villa!"
’What girl didn’t dream of being the female lead in a TV drama when she was young?’ Now that day had finally come. Lin Yanwan was already starting to imagine what life would be like in the villa.
’Waking up every morning in a soft, massive bed comparable to a presidential suite, sipping coffee prepared by the housekeeper while strolling through the courtyard, wandering into the back garden for leisure, taking a dip in the pool when it gets hot, and then lying on a deck chair on the terrace at night to watch the stars... Life would be so incredibly comfortable.’
"If we have a lot of kids in the future, maybe we can even upgrade to a bigger place," Jiang Xia said teasingly.
"In your dreams. Two is the maximum."
Lin Yanwan suddenly looked down at her stomach. She remembered how in their past life, they had tried for eight long years without successfully conceiving, and she couldn’t help but worry.
"Honey, do you think in this life, we’ll really be able to..."
Before she could finish, Jiang Xia immediately cut her off. "Don’t say it, and don’t overthink it. We’ve been reborn. This isn’t the same world as our past life, so our bodies are naturally different, too."
He made his tone as calm as possible. "And even if it is the same as our past life, it doesn’t matter. All I care about is spending my whole life with you, lovingly. Compared to you, children are secondary."
"Mmm..."
Lin Yanwan’s heart filled with sweetness.
