After signing the purchase contract and paying in full, Jiang Xia received the property deed about a week later. It listed both his and Lin Yanwan’s names.

You had to hand it to Yida; their treatment of VIP clients was on another level. Normally, it would take about a month for a developer to file all the purchase contracts with the housing authority.

After taking ownership of the house, the couple’s first order of business was to move. The thought of leaving the place they’d lived in for two years made Jiang Xia feel a little nostalgic and reluctant to leave.

This rental apartment had been a special birthday gift from Lin Yanwan on his eighteenth birthday. From then on, they moved out of their school dorms and began their uninhibited life as a married couple.

Over time, the bedroom, the bay window, the living room, the kitchen, the bathroom... they all bore traces of their battles.

"Hubby, it looks like we don’t have much to bring besides our clothes and daily necessities," Lin Yanwan said, propping her chin on her hand as she stared at her jam-packed closet.

"Hmm... I guess so. The villa has everything, and it’s all brand new. We can just move right in."

Jiang Xia wrapped his arms around his wife’s slender waist from behind, nuzzling his cheek into the crook of her neck. "See which clothes you want to take. You can leave the ones you don’t want to wear anymore here for now. I’ll buy you new ones later."

"Mhm."

Lin Yanwan turned and gently kissed the corner of his lips. Jiang Xia skillfully parted her pearly teeth.

She was panting heavily, leaning weakly in his arms, her half-closed eyes growing hazy as she let him do with her as he wished.

"Baby, before we go to the new house, don’t you think we should give our two years here a proper send-off?" Jiang Xia whispered in a low voice, gently nibbling on her ear.

"Hm?"

"I want you now."

"Let’s wait until we get to the new house."

Lin Yanwan pushed him away shyly. ’He wants it all day long. Once we’re at the villa, we won’t have to worry about being disturbed. Will we be short on opportunities then?’

Jiang Xia blinked. A lewd scene must have popped into his head, because he suddenly started snickering.

Lin Yanwan shot him a glare, irritably removed his paws from her chest, and went back to packing her things: makeup, skincare products, clothes, and some books and musical instruments. There was no way the two of them could move the piano by themselves on short notice; they’d have to find time to hire someone to move it later.

Even so, they still ended up with a huge pile of miscellaneous stuff.

Jiang Xia had much less. Besides his clothes and personal necessities, he only needed to take his work-related manuscripts, his computer, and a few other things.

After spending the whole morning, the two of them were more or less done packing. Looking at the large and small bags piled up in the living room, Jiang Xia didn’t hesitate to call a professional moving company.

"Oh, right, Hubby, do we need to hire someone to clean the new place?" Lin Yanwan asked suddenly, taking a sip of water.

Jiang Xia smiled. "I already asked Wang Xue about that. She had professional cleaners do a thorough cleaning just a couple of days ago. I guarantee it’ll be spotless when we move in."

"Oh, I see."

Half an hour later, the moving company had taken everything that was packed. Jiang Xia closed and locked the door, patting it gently. Remembering the happy times of the past two years, he sighed with emotion and murmured, "We’re leaving."

Then, he led the way in his car with the moving truck following closely behind, all the way to the entrance of their villa in Celestial Beauty.

A little over an hour later, the new house was finally in order. Jiang Xia politely saw the movers off and proudly gave each of them a 100-yuan tip.

The sound of running water came from the master bathroom. Lin Yanwan lay on the soft, large bed and let out a long sigh. She stared at the exquisite decor of the bedroom, and her mood brightened without her even realizing it.

"Nope. You’re the one who promised over and over that you’d listen to me once we got to the new house. Baby, don’t you want to feel how soft this bed is?" he said with a suggestive smile.

"I can already feel it!"

"No, you haven’t."

Jiang Xia pounced like a beast, and Lin Yanwan, unable to dodge in time, was pinned beneath him on the bed.

"Mmph... Darling, wait, stop for a second! The curtains aren’t drawn!"

"Let’s not. There’s no one around here, and besides, we’re on the second floor. No one will see us."

Staring at the standalone villa before them, Old Wang’s eyes widened. Li Weiya had been here before, but this was his first time.

"Yep, it’s all mine," Jiang Xia said with a smiling nod.

This was the advantage of a standalone villa. Generally, they came with their own private entrance and yard. You had independent space above, a garden in the middle, and a private pool and basement below. Even the surrounding green space belonged to the homeowner, offering a high degree of privacy.
