After the Divorce, My Wife and I Were Both Reborn
Chapter 423: Daily Life in the Villa, Part 2
A bigger place would be just right for the three of them.
She still had to decide between a villa or a spacious condominium in the city’s incredibly expensive core.
Still, with her current salary, she could afford a villa like this if she stretched a bit.
Looking back, she realized what an incredibly smart decision it had been to resolutely leave Wanzhou two years ago and join Jiang Xia in the Imperial Capital.
Not only had she become wealthier herself, but she had also climbed the social ladder.
She smiled faintly. “It’s worth considering.”
Hearing this, Wang Ming blinked and immediately looked at his mom. ‘Does this mean our family is also going to buy a place and settle down for good in the Imperial Capital?’
“Mom, if we’re buying a house, feel free to use my bank card. And I think a villa here, near Old Jiang’s, would be great.”
To be honest, Wang Ming was green with envy. Compared to their current rental, this place was heaven on earth. If his mom wanted to buy a villa, he was all for it!
“Who needs that little bit of money you have? You just focus on saving up for your wedding. Your mom can still afford a house on her own,” Li Weiya said with a smile, though her gaze drifted, seemingly by chance, toward Shen Ying.
Shen Ying’s face flushed. She just kept nibbling on her watermelon, not daring to respond. ‘Am I about to become a rich man’s wife living in a mansion?’ she wondered.
A little over half an hour later, as the sky began to darken, Jiang Xia took Wang Ming to the room he’d be using for the night to get a fresh change of clothes. The two had similar builds, and though Jiang Xia was slightly taller, his clothes fit Wang Ming just fine.
“The third floor is the entertainment area, with a gym and an esports room. The home theater and karaoke room are in the basement. Take your pick,” Jiang Xia said with a chuckle.
“Yingying, it’s been ages since we sang together, hasn’t it? Wanna go?” Lin Yanwan asked, looking at Shen Ying.
“Sure! I’ve been wanting to hear you sing the theme from Slam Dunk live.”
“Is that all? You got it!”
Laughing and chatting, the two friends went off to sing, while Jiang Xia and Wang Ming headed to the esports room to play some games.
At the time, the first League of Legends World Championship had just concluded, and the game’s popularity was soaring. As a veteran LoL player, Jiang Xia still made time to play a few matches even with his busy work schedule.
Unfortunately, being good at animation didn’t mean he was good at MOBAs. In his past life, he was a Platinum-tier gatekeeper at best. But in this life, armed with the game sense and experience from more than ten major versions in the future, it was still pretty easy for him to stomp noobs in low-elo ranked games.
Watching the young ones go off to do their own things, Li Weiya carried her wine glass and ambled onto the terrace to enjoy the night view.
In the distance, the lights of bustling skyscrapers twinkled. Compared to the clamor of the city, the villa complex was remarkably quiet.
This was the value of a detached villa—excellent privacy.
She took a small sip of wine, her mind on the housing situation. ‘Should I buy a place here? It wouldn’t be bad to be neighbors with Ah Xia and his friends. We could all look out for one another.’
With her experience, she knew that a detached villa inside the Fourth Ring Road would only increase in value. If she ever needed money, she could resell it. It was as good as a direct investment in real estate.
By any calculation, she wouldn’t lose money on it.
Li Weiya found herself genuinely tempted.
After ten o’clock, everyone, tired from a full day of fun, returned to their rooms to rest. Lying on the large, soft, and comfortable bed, gazing at the exceptionally exquisite interior design, Li Weiya’s resolve to buy a villa grew even stronger.
If nothing else, living in a place like this would naturally put you in a good mood every day.
‘As for the money… she was the second-in-command at Qitian Company, with real authority. Would she really be short on cash in the future?’
One word: buy!

「A few days passed in the blink of an eye.」 By mid-July, Jiang Wende and his wife, all the way from Yu Du Wanzhou, as well as his mother-in-law Ji Wanqiu and sister-in-law Lin Xiaoman, all boarded a flight to the Imperial Capital together.
“Brother-in-law, Brother-in-law, Xiao Man is about to board! The airport is huge!” Lin Xiaoman’s cheerful voice chirped over the phone early in the morning.
“Xiao Man is getting on a plane~ When you get to the Imperial Capital, your brother-in-law will be waiting for you at the airport,” Jiang Xia laughed.
“Mhm! You and Sis wait for me in the Imperial Capital! Xiao Man is going to fly higher than a bird! WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH, I’ll be there in a flash!”
“WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH! And when you get here, you have to give your brother-in-law a hug first.”
“Hehehehe…”
After the brother-in-law and sister-in-law shared a few jokes, Xia Shanshan took the phone.
“Alright, Xiaxia, we’re starting to board and have our passes checked. I’ve got to go. Bye.”
“Okay, Mom. See you in a bit.”
Jiang Xia offered a few more thoughtful reminders before hanging up.
Lin Yanwan, nestled in his arms, opened her sleepy eyes. “Did our moms board the plane?” she murmured.
“Mhm, they’ve boarded.” Jiang Xia nodded, stroking his wife’s smooth back. “They’ll be here in a little over four hours. We can leave for the airport at noon, so we can still sleep in a bit.”
“Mmm…”
Under the covers, Jiang Xia suddenly rolled on top of her. Lin Yanwan bit his shoulder and let out a soft whimper.
“Hubby, I’m so sleepy…”
Jiang Xia winked and chuckled. “Babe, you go ahead and sleep. I’ll just do my thing.”
Lin Yanwan opened her eyes to a trembling world, her face flushed. ‘How am I supposed to sleep like this?’
◇
On the plane, Lin Xiaoman sat by the window, her wide, curious eyes fixed on the thick sea of clouds outside. The sun seemed closer than usual, and the golden light spilling through the small window felt incredibly special.
‘So everything Brother-in-law said was true! The plane really does fly higher than the clouds, and you can’t see the world below at all. The sea of clouds looks so thick and soft… I wonder if you could lie on it, like an immortal?’
“Mom, how much longer until we get to the Capital City?” Xiao Man asked without turning her head, her eyes still glued to the sea of clouds.
Ji Wanqiu smiled faintly. This was the third time Xiao Man had asked. Children were always so fixated on time.
“We’re almost there. Just two more hours. Do you want to take a nap, Xiao Man? By the time you wake up, we should be able to see your sister.”
“I don’t want to sleep! If I fall asleep, I’ll miss out on the feeling of flying,” Xiao Man argued reasonably.
Ji Wanqiu couldn’t help but chuckle as she stroked her youngest daughter’s head. ‘How can my Xiao Man be so adorable?’
“Mom, where are we going to stay when we get to the Imperial Capital?” Xiao Man suddenly thought of a very serious question.
“We’re staying with your sister, of course. Your brother-in-law bought a big house,” Ji Wanqiu said with a smile.
She was filled with emotion just thinking about it. Her son-in-law had quietly bought a villa in the Imperial Capital, the place with the highest real estate prices in the entire country. ‘That boy, Xiaxia,’ she thought, ‘he’s really made something of himself.’
“Bigger than our house at home?” Xiao Man continued to ask.
“Much, much bigger. It’s like a castle.”
The little girl was stunned, her mind conjuring images of castles. ‘Storybooks always say that only princesses live in castles… doesn’t that mean I’m a little princess, too?!’
“Yay! Xiao Man gets to live in a castle!”
◇
At 11:30, Jiang Xia urged his wife to get out of bed. Their parents would be arriving in about an hour.
Lin Yanwan yawned, giving Jiang Xia a reproachful look. If he hadn’t insisted on dragging her into his “morning workout,” she wouldn’t be too sleepy to even get up now.
‘Youthful bodies really are full of energy,’ she thought. ‘We were going at it late into the night, and then he was ready for another round this morning.’
She closed her eyes, took a deep breath, and struggled out of bed. After washing her face and brushing her teeth, she went with him to their garage, and they drove to the Imperial City Airport.
At 12:35 PM, the plane landed, and Jiang Xia got a call from his mom.
Soon after, they spotted the group at the arrivals gate. Jiang Wende was at the front, carrying a suitcase, followed by Xia Shanshan, with Ji Wanqiu holding Xiao Man’s hand.
The little sister-in-law had sharp eyes and spotted her eagerly waiting brother-in-law in the crowd right away.
“Brother-in-law! Brother-in-law! Xiao Man’s here~”
