Chapter 570: Chapter 330: Farewell and Moving Forward (Part 3)

"Didn’t I tell you not to launch surprise attacks on me?"

Leng Qingying tilted her head. "Was it a surprise?"

Lu Cang: "Not really... Forget it. I’ll play along."

WHOOSH—

Leng Qingying’s figure vanished before Lu Cang’s eyes.

Immediately after, various illusions appeared in all directions.

BANG!

In a single instant, all the illusions exploded!

Azure Sky Stream - Third Form·Illusion Strike

However, amidst the countless dissolving illusions, a cold glint of light shot straight for Lu Cang’s throat.

’Hiding the real within the fake.’

Lu Cang saw her line of thinking for trying to kill him.

’Her strategy is clear enough.’

’She knows her Speed isn’t a match for mine, so she’s using misdirection to be clever... Her Skill has become much more exquisite than before.’

Lu Cang’s Perception extended behind him.

The Dagger flying at him from the front was just a feint. The real killing blow was coming from behind.

Leng Qingying had also learned his Azure Sky Stream.

She couldn’t master the complete Azure Sky Stream, but she had researched and developed her own unique way of using it.

Azure Sky Stream - Fourth Form: Void

’She really is starting to show a bit of my style.’

The cold glint approached from behind, but Lu Cang simply sidestepped...

WHOOSH!

The strike from the void sliced through empty air.

But immediately after, Lu Cang felt high-frequency vibrations coming from all directions...

The air throbbed like a drum, sound and airflow thrown into chaos!

A sound like a frantic heartbeat echoed continuously.

THUMP THUMP THUMP THUMP—

’Using her aura to alter the environment... Simulating a sense of tension to interfere with one’s judgment... Making others misinterpret their own Intuition in this oppressive atmosphere.’

An Assassin’s greatest fear when targeting a powerful expert is their strong Intuition, which allows them to sense imminent danger through premonition, without any warning.

And so, interfering with Intuition is a required course for any High Level Assassin.

Otherwise, if you tried to kill any High Level expert, their Intuition would foresee the danger. What’s the point of an assassination then?

Lu Cang felt the disturbance in his surroundings.

It was indeed becoming difficult to distinguish between feelings born of Intuition and effects caused by the environment.

All he felt was a universal agitation, giving rise to a slight sense of unease.

CLANG!

A cold glint instantly appeared before his eyes.

But Lu Cang simply reached back with a reverse grip.

SMACK—

In an instant, he had caught a slender wrist.

She suddenly put forth all her strength, trying to drive the Dagger forward, but no matter how hard she struggled, it wouldn’t budge an inch.

POOF—

With no other choice, she dissolved into an Illusion and vanished.

"You’ve gotten quite good at my Azure Sky Stream."

"You even created your own Assassination Skill based on my style. Very impressive."

"You’ve done well in all respects."

"Unfortunately, your physical strength is still too poor. Your Speed and power are lacking."

"Skill is important, but with a weak foundation, the earth will still shake."

Lu Cang’s gaze fell upon an empty spot in the room.

WHOOSH—

Then, his eyes darted.

He looked to the other side.

Leng Qingying, who was in a state of Invisibility, felt like she had seen a ghost. ’How... how did he see through my Invisibility?’

But, since she had been completely discovered, she had no choice but to go all out!

WHOOSH—

Leng Qingying appeared before Lu Cang in a flash, her Dagger striking at his throat like a silver snake.

CHINK!

Yet, all that was heard was a sharp, crisp sound.

Leng Qingying felt as if her Dagger had struck a massive mountain. It was supposed to be a vulnerable throat, yet she hadn’t inflicted even a scratch.

Lu Cang hadn’t used any Combat Skills. He had simply taken her strike to his weak point with his physical body alone.

"See? This is why I said your strength is too weak."

"With your current strength, if you were to fight a Golden Dragon of the Same Tier, you wouldn’t even be able to pierce its scales."

Leng Qingying couldn’t help but grit her teeth in frustration.

’My strength is weak?’

"Is that even a human example? We’re talking about the Golden Dragon, which is said to be physically unparalleled..."

Lu Cang replied, "I think that if you’re aiming to be the strongest, being able to defeat a Golden Dragon is the bare minimum, wouldn’t you say?"

"If you think you’re good enough as you are now, then I don’t mind either."

Leng Qingying gritted her teeth, her face full of indignation. "Then, what do you suggest I do?"

Lu Cang: "I’ve only pointed out your problem. What you do about it is your business."

"I have some Potions here that can aid with Body Refinement. You haven’t pushed your body’s strength to its absolute limit yet."

"If I were delivering that strike you just tried on me, this is how I would generate power."

A Dagger materialized in Lu Cang’s hand.

He stabbed violently into the empty air!

BANG!

Although he only stabbed at the air, it gave the impression that he had pierced the Void itself.

The moment he stabbed, Leng Qingying felt every cell in Lu Cang’s body move. All his Qi and Blood seemed to align into a straight line in that instant, surging out in the direction of the Dagger!

The momentum was completely different from her own.

’So this is Lu Cang’s body now...’

It wasn’t just pure physical strength. His Skill, his Control over his Qi and Blood and his Qi, had also reached an unimaginable height.

"Practice this for now."

"Tomorrow, I’ll help you advance to a Level 5 Assassin. You should be able to gain a deeper understanding then."

Teaching Leng Qingying some combat techniques would also, conveniently, help satisfy the requirements for his own advancement to a Level 6 Warrior.

Although Assassins and Warriors were different, many of their skills had things in common.

...

「April 28th.」

Yuna had already left yesterday. He had more or less fulfilled his principles as a Blacksmith.

Without a High Level Blacksmith to teach him the key points, Lu Cang was basically fumbling his way forward. His progress was far slower than he’d imagined, and he spent most of his time trying to uncover any hidden secrets within the Blacksmith profession.

He also combined Magic and Combat Skills to research and create his own unique Forging techniques.

’After I advance to a Level 2 Blacksmith, I should probably be able to forge some equipment I can actually use, right?’
