All My Summons Become Divine Girls
Chapter 580: Her Borrowed Mouth
Hajin sat beside the guarded cradle stair with the baker’s copied terms beneath his right hand, opening the Fragment view only after Juna took the watch at the approach.
The descent remained closed.
Within the view, a thin divine sliver answered the preserved trace from below, its wounded curve wrapped around a knot of stolen memories whose contents he could not read.
It pulsed once in the rhythm of his own heart.
His left palm ached beneath its dressing.
Then the familiar gold gathered around him, holding steady as the Goddess turned toward the small resonance he had brought into her space.
She looked at it without speaking.
Hajin stayed quiet with her for a moment, the steadiness of the gold giving him somewhere to put the breath he had been holding since the baker showed him the blank recipe margin.
The Goddess touched his hand lightly before turning her attention back to the sliver, the gesture arriving with a tired warmth that made him close his fingers around hers.
"Thank you for coming back to tell me."
"I could use your opinion on this one."
He described the missing names and the surviving return notation while she watched the wounded curve inside the Fragment view.
The gold did not thin around her.
That small steadiness made the silence after his account easier to bear than the way her fingers tightened against his.
"It is mine," she said.
Hajin looked at the sliver’s unfinished edge.
"You recognize it?"
"The part that is hurting."
She moved her free hand toward the knot without touching it, stopping at the place where the wounded divinity disappeared around the stolen human memories.
"I do not recognize what has been fastened around it."
The admission came slowly.
Hajin shifted his sore hand in hers, the little movement drawing her attention away from the sliver long enough for her to notice his tightened fingers.
She eased her touch toward his wrist.
"You are hurting too."
"I have had a very educational day."
Her mouth moved faintly at that before she settled his hand in a more comfortable place, leaving him grateful for something as small as where her thumb stopped pressing.
The gold lay quiet around them while he found his next breath, its warmth giving the ugly curve in the view less room to become the whole conversation.
"I am glad you are here," he told her.
She looked up at him then, her fingers staying beneath his wrist while the wounded sliver continued its faint answer farther away.
"I am glad you can still say that after looking at it."
He turned his hand enough to touch her fingers gently.
"I was looking at you."
The small smile she gave him lasted through the next pulse, her attention returning to the sliver with a little less strain around her eyes.
Hajin could see the effort in her face as she followed the curve toward the place where it had been made into something the archive could use.
"A seal?"
"Perhaps a wound being held like one."
He let the distinction sit beside the sliver, its familiar pulse making him want to reach more badly than any clean promise of rescue would have done.
The Goddess looked at his hand before he moved it.
"It can still be mine and still hurt you."
Hajin lowered his fingers.
’Of course it found a way to make helping unpleasant.’
The interface brought the current recovery beside the distant curve, the number unchanged from the separate outcome that had followed the three generals’ deaths.

Hajin looked at the last row.
"Because of the memories?"
Aria’s answer came through the interface he had opened, her voice distinct from the Goddess’s quiet breathing beside him.
"The route cannot support safe extraction from here, the archive can use that sliver as a mouth for choral convergence."
He pictured the mouths made out of faces above the shelter roofs, then the real woman pulling her ordinary shutter closed beneath them.
The sliver inside the view looked much less ugly.
That did not improve it.
"What would it ask us to do?"
"Answer together," the Goddess said.
Her gaze stayed on the knot of stolen memories, the familiar pulse passing through its wounded edge without telling her how the rest of it had been arranged.
"It knows how badly people want a voice they can trust."
Hajin thought of the baker’s request for truth even if the answer hurt, the copied words waiting beneath his hand outside this gold space.
"Then we take the road."
The Goddess looked toward him again.
He kept his next words smaller than the promise his anger wanted to make.
"We find what is actually holding you there before we try pulling it free."
Her fingers eased against his.
"That would be kind."
The answer left a dull ache beneath his ribs, its lack of demand making him wish he could bring her something simpler than another locked door.
He sat beside her until the impulse to demand a missing memory passed, keeping the unfinished sliver where the view had placed it while the gold held their quiet.
"Do you want to keep looking?" he asked.
She shook her head.
He closed that part of the view before letting go of her hand, the curve disappearing while the space around her remained steady enough for her shoulders to lower.
The guarded stair returned around him when he opened his eyes, the copied family terms still beneath his right hand and Juna still at the approach she had taken.
Vella sat close on his other side with two fingers pressed against her jaw.
"That felt like a toothache a very long way from my teeth."
Hajin looked at her hand.
"When the sliver answered?"
She nodded, lowering her fingers once the distant ache eased along her spirit connection.
Ash stood beside the Watcher near the outer boundary, his lips pressed together while he stared at the place beneath the cradle where the trace was leading them.
"It wanted me to say something."
Hajin turned toward him.
"What did you hear?"
The boy looked down at his loose restraint link before shaking his head, his small fingers turning it once around his wrist.
"It was a borrowed word."
Hajin waited.
"I am not saying it back."
The Watcher kept her hand close to his shoulder while Juna passed the refusal to the nearest sentry, making sure nobody at the approach tried to coax a repetition out of him.
Juna wrote stay beside the trace direction, turning the warning toward Hajin without asking Ash to repeat what she had heard.
Hajin put the mouth warning into the shared record without asking the child to supply the voice that carried it, giving the sentries a plain instruction to keep separate answers separate.
The remote-extraction denial remained beside the unchanged forty-nine percent in his view while Ferra inspected the three incomplete channels at the shut descent.
They approached the same door from different angles.
Each channel had room for a separate decision, its open end failing to complete whenever the shared pressure from below tried to pull all three into the same answer.

Rumi crouched beside one outer mark with Nari on the other side, both of them keeping their hands clear while Hajin watched the common center remain dark.
"It wants us to agree?" Nari asked.
"The door wants three answers," Ferra said, "the mouth underneath wants one."
Rumi looked at the blocked descent.
"I want a return that keeps it away from the shelters."
"I want its hostile roads closed," Nari replied.
The two wishes met over the outer marks without becoming the same request, the twins studying each other across a difference they would have to carry into the opening.
Hajin rested his right hand beside the unused central line.
"I will not claim authority over the people entering."
Ferra checked the channels again as the three separate intentions settled into their own places, the door’s outline remaining closed while its outer arrangement stopped trying to collapse the answers together.
They would have to give those decisions at the marks beneath the seat.
The rehearsal had shown where the argument belonged.
Nari looked toward the copy of the baker’s terms at Hajin’s knee, her gaze resting on the request for truth before returning to the entrance.
"A return stays for our people."
"Exposed enemy paths close," Rumi answered.
Hajin let them keep both sentences while he opened the shop for the supplies the descent party and the remaining patients would still need.

He brought the purchased lot into the guarded preparation space, giving the food packs to the relief hands returning toward Tessa while the dressings went with Vella’s clinic attendant.
The wash and comfort kits were divided among the current party’s waiting supplies, their ordinary contents giving the preparation a brief smell of clean cloth and soap.
Hajin kept one kit beside his pack after wiping the dust from his hands, the simple work letting his thoughts catch up with the decision they had already made about the closed road.
Juna looked at the bandages beneath his fingers.
She took the used cloth after he finished wiping his hands, folding its damp edge inward before setting it beside the empty supply wrapping.
The small task made Hajin notice how stiffly she still moved her leg, the earlier circles following her into this quieter preparation without needing anybody to announce their cost.
He shifted the pack out of her way so she could sit without drawing that knee around it.
"You have been very quiet."
"I am trying not to promise something the door has not let us reach yet."
She sat beside him long enough to touch the edge of the baker’s copied terms, her finger stopping under the two words that had made the request difficult.
"Truth first."
"Yes."
He folded the copy carefully with the route notation, keeping both where he could carry them into the place that was using wounded divinity to call people closer.
The sentries repeated the mouth warning along the guarded approach while Ferra finished checking the outer fixture, her tool staying in her own hand as she signaled that they could reach the inner marks.
Hajin stood slowly beside Juna, feeling the old burns complain under his dressings as the three different channels showed through the doorway beneath the cradle.
His left palm still ached under its dressing.
Below the guarded stair, the wounded pulse answered through a door they had yet to open.
