Chapter 500: Chapter 328: Calling Me Superman Might Be More Appropriate
"Mastery of every known form of unarmed combat in the world?"
Li Wei said slowly.
Diego suddenly felt that the voice sounded familiar, like he’d heard it somewhere before, but he couldn’t quite place it.
"Oh? Is that right? Batman," the skinny Arturo sneered, pulling a pistol from his waistband and pointing it at Li Wei. "Has anyone ever told you that no matter how strong Batman is, he’s still just human?"
And with that, he opened fire without any warning.
"BANG BANG BANG! BANG! BANG!"
A huge muzzle flash erupted, followed by a deafening roar that echoed through the abandoned gas station.
However, to everyone’s astonishment, Li Wei was still standing in the same spot.
He looked down at the holes in his t-shirt, clicked his tongue, and said, "What a shame. This is a BC t-shirt. Costs a few hundred USD."
"You’re wearing a bulletproof vest?" Arturo blurted out.
"Ah, my apologies, I’m a bit OOC," Li Wei said, scratching his head as he walked toward Arturo. "Batman isn’t supposed to be bulletproof, is he? But I’m afraid—"
He reached Arturo, who was standing frozen, his mind a complete blank.
Li Wei nonchalantly took the pistol from his hand and squeezed—
The grip warped instantly, the gun twisting like a pretzel in his grasp.
"—calling me Superman might be more appropriate?" Li Wei tilted his head, looking at Arturo with a troubled expression. "But I can’t fly. Hmm... at least, not yet."
A Power of 8.0, which translated to 3.8 tons.
Arturo stared up at Li Wei, who was a full head taller than him, and felt an overwhelming, almost tangible pressure wash over him.
He let out a cry and tried to run, but the moment he turned, Li Wei grabbed his wrist.
"Don’t be in such a hurry to leave," Li Wei said. "Let’s chat a little longer."
Arturo suddenly felt his wrist drop, and then his entire body was airborne.
Li Wei had grabbed his arm and swung him through the air, smashing him into the ground like the Hulk did to Loki. For a split second, it was as if Arturo had been compressed. He instantly coughed up a large amount of blood and lost consciousness.

"Fire!" Diego’s brain suddenly started working again. "Fire! Kill him!"
As if waking from a dream, everyone pulled out their guns and started shooting at Li Wei.
But Li Wei had suddenly vanished. Right before their very eyes, he was gone.
"He’s not human!" one man screamed. "He’s a demon! The devil!"
He dropped his gun and ran.
When the first person runs, the rest will follow.
They all scrambled desperately for their cars, but to their despair, after jumping in, they couldn’t get the engines to start.
Then, the passenger-side window of one car suddenly shattered. A man was dragged out by an immense force, letting out a bloodcurdling scream, followed by several sickeningly crisp snaps of breaking bone.
The man in the driver’s seat trembled as he peeked over and saw that his partner’s arms and legs had been twisted into a ball.
"Sorry, the car’s broken," a voice said regretfully. "You might have to walk back."
"Assuming you’ll even be able to recover—"
Then, the window on his side shattered, and he too was dragged out.
A scream tore through the night sky.
Li Wei moved on to the next.
Two men tried to scale the chain-link fence, but Li Wei simply leaped onto the fence, grabbed them, and pulled them back down.
"Why are you running? The meet-and-greet is over here."
The entire process took less than five minutes.
In the clearing, 23 men lay strewn across the ground, a cacophony of screams, pleas for mercy, and groans.
Not a single one could stand. The luckiest among them would spend the rest of their lives in agony in prison.
Li Wei walked up to Diego and looked down at him.
It was then that Diego finally remembered who that voice belonged to.
He was the person who had been in his car the whole time! The coughing from earlier—that was him!
"What... What in the world are you?" Diego asked through gritted teeth. "You’re not human! You’re a devil!"
"I’m Superman," Li Wei sighed. "Why do you keep forgetting?"
His voice was different from his usual one; no one would know he was the famous football star.
He stared at Diego and suddenly said, "You’re different from the others."
"You joined Kuluoqi voluntarily. You enjoy killing, don’t you?" Li Wei said. "You’re a real piece of work, Diego."
Diego’s eyes widened. ’How could he possibly know that?!’
"How about this," Li Wei said, glancing at the mountain of drugs piled nearby. "Since you’re a drug dealer and you like doing drugs, why don’t you do all of this?"
"Snort all one hundred-plus pounds of these drugs, and I’ll let you go."

...
「The next morning.」
In the hotel, Li Wei, having changed his clothes, was sitting in the restaurant eating breakfast with Don Quixote.
Jin Heon sat across from them. Chen Haisheng had already finished eating and gone to supervise the vehicle inspection.
"Boss," Jin Heon said, closing his laptop, looking dejected. "I contacted three more factories yesterday. Two of them gave outrageous quotes, and one said they don’t have the production line. I’ve pretty much exhausted all options in Mexico."
Don Quixote took a sip of his coffee. "Let’s wait one more day. Our flight is the day after tomorrow. If it really doesn’t work out, we’ll have to reassess."
"Maybe something will turn up," Li Wei said while eating his fried eggs.
Jin Heon looked at Li Wei and couldn’t help but think to himself, ’The boss has such a great attitude.’
"The car is ready," Chen Haisheng said, walking back in.
"Let’s go," Li Wei said, wiping his mouth. "Let’s go for a stroll. Since we came all the way to Mexico, we should at least bring some souvenirs back. We’ll just treat this as a vacation to unwind."
At 10 a.m., the group left the hotel.
The March sun in Monterey was already blindingly bright, and the dry air was a mix of roasted corn and lime scents.
In the city center, at Macro Square, the huge orange "Gate of Destiny" sculpture was particularly striking under the sun. In the distance, the Cerro de la Silla mountain lay to the south of the city like a giant chair.
Jin Heon bought an elote, a Mexican street corn, from a roadside vendor. It was a street snack made of grilled corn on the cob slathered with mayonnaise, then sprinkled with chili powder and crumbled cheese.
Li Wei bought one too, but thought it tasted a bit strange after a bite.
Under the protection of the Mercenaries, they passed by a small souvenir shop.
On a whim, Li Wei decided he wanted to bring back a painted, silver-adorned skull for both Anya and Elizabeth.
"Uhh..." Jin Heon said, his mouth full of cheese, expressing his doubt. "Boss, I’m not sure girls would like this kind of thing."
"Hey, don’t you think it’s cool?" Li Wei waved his hand dismissively. "Besides, the point is the gift itself, not whether they like it or not."
They entered a small souvenir shop on a slightly more secluded street. A few brightly colored, traditional Mexican blankets hung at the entrance, and the shelves were filled with all sorts of handicrafts like pottery, bracelets, and silver trinkets.
Li Wei released the [Jester’s Skull].
’See anything you like?’ Li Wei communicated with it mentally. ’If you find a skull you fancy, I’ll buy it for you as a companion.’
The Ruby in the [Jester’s Skull]’s eye sockets flickered, but it offered no opinion.
Behind the counter stood a small boy, around eleven or twelve years old.
When he saw a group of fashionably dressed foreigners walk in, his eyes instantly lit up.
"Hola," he greeted them enthusiastically, then stumbled as he switched to English. "Welcome! You buy? Very cheap!"
Jin Heon was amused by his words and squatted down to his eye level. "Are you watching the shop by yourself?"
"Mama went to get more stock," the boy said seriously. "I’m the manager now."
"Wow, that’s impressive."
"Yes, I’ve been watching the shop since I was 10," the boy said. "I’m 12 this year."
"Where are you from?" he asked, sizing up Li Wei, Don Quixote, and the stern-faced Eastern Europeans behind them. "The United States of America? Canada?"
"We’re from New York," Jin Heon replied.
The little boy’s eyes went wide.
"New York!" he repeated. "I know it! The heart of the United States of America! The Statue of Liberty! Times Square! Wall Street!"
"That’s right," Jin Heon said with a smile. "When you grow up, you can go see it for yourself. New York has a lot of fun places."
The little boy nodded emphatically. "If I live long enough to grow up, I’ll definitely go."
