Chapter 565: Chapter 368: Li Wei: Sorry, I’m a Cheater
But the next second, his movements froze. From the moment Li Wei’s palm touched his neck, he felt a surge of warmth that relaxed his entire body. The pain that had tortured him for a full eight years, constantly welling up from deep within his knees, gradually receded like an ebbing tide.
He thought he was dreaming. That pain had long since become a part of his body, as ever-present as breathing itself. He could feel its existence every second he was awake, and endlessly popping pills only caused it to disappear or weaken for brief periods.
But now, his knees felt incredibly better.
"What... what the fuck did you do?" he asked.
Li Wei retracted his hand and stood up. "You can try moving around now," he said. "Then, stop taking the medication. We’ll do this again next month."
He had no intention of curing Sean Flynn all at once. The drug addiction and chronic physical pain had plagued Sean for eight years anyway, so a few more months wouldn’t make much of a difference. More importantly, his purchase order hadn’t been signed yet. He needed Robert Flynn to sign it first.
Sean was already too stunned to listen to what he was saying. He bent his left leg and stood up.
"This is impossible," he said, his lips trembling. "This is impossible... what exactly did you do?"
"That’s our little secret." Li Wei reached out his hand with a smile. "Is that alright? My lineage strictly forbids me from speaking about it."
"Of... of course!" Sean’s eyes were red. "I... I don’t know how to thank you. Thank you!" He bowed to Li Wei.
Li Wei smiled and patted him on the shoulder, and the two of them walked out of the room together.
When Robert Flynn saw the door open, he instinctively glanced over and was completely stunned. For the first time, Sean Flynn had walked out of his room at night.
"Dad," Sean’s voice trembled. "My leg doesn’t hurt anymore, and I don’t feel the urge to take my pills at all."
Robert’s knees went weak, and he nearly collapsed to the floor.
"The effects are temporary," Li Wei said. "I estimate it will take at least three more treatments before we evaluate the final results."
"Good, good, good," Robert Flynn repeated three times in a row.
Li Wei smiled, pulled over the chair he had been sitting in earlier, and sat back down to look at Robert. "Uncle Robert," he said, "where were we?"
"Where were we?" Robert Flynn paused to think, then spoke with absolute certainty. "The procurement? I’ll push it forward tomorrow... no, I’ll push it forward right now!"
He immediately pulled out his phone and made a few calls. After hanging up, he stood up, threw an arm around Sean’s shoulders, and walked outside. "Maggie! Come quickly and look at Sean!"
Greatly satisfied, Li Wei poured himself a glass of whiskey. Just as he was about to take a sip, he suddenly remembered he wasn’t twenty-one yet. It didn’t matter at home, but he figured he should probably be a bit more careful while out in public.

"Maggie and I had a great chat," Anya said excitedly on the drive back. "Even though it was our first time meeting, she shared a lot about her relationship with Robert Flynn. That’s a very good sign."
Li Wei just hummed a noncommittal response, keeping his eyes on the road.
"Thank goodness I brought the right gift," Anya continued, shooting Li Wei a triumphant look. "Otherwise, showing up empty-handed would have been incredibly awkward."
Li Wei nodded casually, simply humoring her as he drove.
"How did your chat go?" Anya asked curiously. "You didn’t get into any arguments with him, did you?"
"It went pretty well," Li Wei said casually. "He already agreed to add LW beverages to the Los Angeles Police Department’s routine procurement list."
"What?!!!"
Anya’s voice jumped two octaves. She stared at Li Wei in utter shock. "Wasn’t this your first time meeting him? You resolved something this huge on the very first try?"
Li Wei simply shrugged.
"Sorry, I’m basically a walking cheat code," he thought.
