Chapter 1713: Part 2: A Change in Plans

Quasi-God Domain

Quasi-God Jane then shared the plan with other factions. After learning about it, the Star God Faction decided to deploy Zack Lockwood onto the main battlefield.

They were quite surprised; they hadn’t expected Quasi-God Jane to make Zack Lockwood face these challenges so soon.

All the other factions large, medium-sized, and small alike fell silent.

They really couldn’t find fault with the Star God Faction. Her decision had put Zack Lockwood’s life at risk, but she was going to save hundreds more lives among the Red Mark Warriors.

Even the injured Red Mark Warriors wouldn’t be forced to fight on the next battlefield. This would give them enough time to recover from their injuries.

The other members were equally shocked, yet none of them criticized Quasi-God Jane. Her decision would save the lives of warriors from their own families as well.

Quasi-God Jane instructed her assistant to relay the information to Elder Freya so she could inform Zack Lockwood and have him prepare for the upcoming battle.

Quasi-God Jane also instructed her to inform Freya that Red Mark resources should be made available to Zack Lockwood.

...

Main Post (United City)

Elder Freya was in her office. Right then, she received news that an incoming transmission signal was waiting for her. Her expression shifted dramatically. She left the room right away.

Swoosh!

In the blink of an eye, she arrived at the transmission room. The door was shut.

A second later, a mirror artifact was activated. The image of Quasi-God Jane’s assistant appeared in the mirror. Seeing this, Elder Freya greeted her, and the assistant greeted her in return.

Next, the assistant said, "I have come to deliver Quasi-God Jane’s instructions."

Elder Freya nodded and continued listening. The assistant didn’t waste any words; she explained everything directly.

A few minutes later,

The transmission ended, but Elder Freya continued to stare into the mirror. It took her time to digest the information. She could not believe Quasi-God Jane would make such a decision.

The decision put Zack Lockwood at a serious disadvantage. She believed the foreign creatures must have figured out the truth by now and would send a greater number of elites next time.

She had been planning to use the same strategy as before: send the majority of the creatures to the special battlefield and the rest to the main battlefield.

However, Quasi-God Jane’s decision changed everything. Leaving the transmission room, she returned to her office.

She sat behind the desk and began to ponder, taking a few minutes to reflect. She understood that Quasi-God Jane’s decision would save the lives of the other Red Mark Warriors.

Even the injured ones would have more time to recover.

"Sigh."

Freya let out a sigh, collected her thoughts, picked up a communication device, and contacted Zack Lockwood.

Meanwhile,

I was in my room, having just stepped out of the essence chamber, when I noticed my handheld device buzzing. I walked over to the desk and picked it up. Looking at the screen, I saw the caller was none other than Elder Freya.

I answered the call right away.

"Elder Freya, what is it?" I asked.

"If you have time, come to my office. I need to talk to you about something important. I also have some resources to give you," Freya said in a serious tone.

Hearing that, my eyes narrowed with seriousness.

"I’ll be there in twenty minutes," I replied.

After ending the call, I went to the bathroom and took a shower, which lasted about twenty minutes. I stepped out and changed into my uniform.

Once ready, I left the building, headed to the main street, and hailed a passing cab. The cab pulled over to a halt. I opened the door and got inside.

Creak!

The cab departed, heading toward the council hall. From the back seat, I watched the scenery pass by through the window.

Twenty minutes later,

The cab pulled up in front of the council hall. I exited, paid the driver the fare, turned around, and walked inside. Passing through the entrance hall, I arrived at the staff offices.

I noticed several elders present-all of them council elders. I continued on toward Elder Freya’s office. Once outside, I knocked on the door.

Creak!

The door swung open, and I was permitted inside.

Elder Freya was sitting behind her desk. I greeted her immediately, and she gestured for me to take a seat.

I sat down on a nearby chair and looked at her, wondering what we were about to discuss.

Elder Freya took a deep breath before looking directly at me.

"I have received instructions from Quasi-God Jane," she said.

My expression turned serious. I straightened my posture and looked at her intently.

Freya continued, "You are going to enter the main battlefield next time. There will be no special battlefield, and there will be no other Red Mark Warriors with you. You will be fighting against the foreign creatures alone."

"The other Red Mark Warriors, including the injured ones will be resting and recovering," she added.

I quietly digested the news. I hadn’t expected Quasi-God Jane to make me face the enemy alone. But as I connected the dots, it made sense: the Red Mark Warriors truly were in no condition to fight in the next battle.

The survival rate from the previous battlefield had been terribly low. If they entered the main battlefield, they would simply be outnumbered again, and the outcome would be the same.

It took me a few minutes to sort through my thoughts before turning back to Elder Freya.

"I’m ready for the next battle. I have no problem with this," I said.

Elder Freya’s eyes flashed with appreciation. She hadn’t expected me to accept reality so quickly. She sighed inwardly, feeling a surge of pride for her clan members.

"I’m glad you’re ready, but you must be careful. The elite creatures will likely arrive in far greater numbers on the next battlefield," Freya warned.

Hearing that, the corners of my mouth curved upward.

"I’m not afraid of them," I replied.

Right now, my eyes were set on the Quasi-God Domain. This place simply didn’t interest me anymore.

I couldn’t wait to become a Quasi-God and face the challenges ahead.
