United City (Main Post)

In the essence chamber, I repeated the process. The dark lightning sprout continued to absorb the lightning power of the tree root.

Time went by.

The steady flow of lightning power was tempering the pathways. My veins had become stronger and wider because of the healing power.

So the violent lightning power flowed like calm water due to the special veins in my body. This was another benefit of having them.

Dark Planet

In the dimension of the top-ranked elite creatures, Jelloth and the Human-Shaped Creature were holding a joint meeting.

Both of them were Quasi-God Powerhouses. Now, they knew who was responsible for the death of their kin:

A human-side genius warrior named Zack Lockwood. Both Quasi-Gods came to learn more about their target, Zack Lockwood.

They dug up all the information available to them.

Only then did they realize that the human target, Zack Lockwood, was already at the top of the kill list.

He had killed many elite creatures before, including elite-level creatures in large numbers. The information shocked them to the core.

The list of elite creatures included the humanoid, the single-horned humanoid, and the double-horned humanoid.

Not only those, but the list included even more, such as the Dead Fang, Thorn Reaper, Venom, Weird-Shaped Creature, and the Winged-Shaped Creature.

All of them had terrorized the human side. Their powerhouses had caused hundreds of thousands of deaths among the humans.

Yet their descendants were killed by a human named Zack Lockwood. Both Quasi-Gods knew the seriousness of the matter.

If they let Zack Lockwood grow in the future, he could become even more dangerous. He might appear on the sky battlefield one day.

Both Quasi-Gods communicated with each other.

"We must not let this genius human appear on the sky battlefield," Jelloth said to the human-faced creature.

"Next, we should lead a greater number of elite creatures to the battlefield. This time, no one from the human side should leave alive," the human-faced creature replied.

They knew the human side was hiding the warrior named Zack Lockwood. But they were sure they couldn’t hide the genius warrior for long.

If they did, it could prove detrimental to the growth of the human genius.

Still, if they tried to hide the human genius, the creatures would shift their focus to other battlefields. They would kill more human warriors there.

Main Post (United City)

Days passed by.

I consumed one resource after another each day. During the night, I entered the night cell tower to train. I didn’t even consider using other facilities.

The real fights inside the night cell tower provided good, effective training. I followed the same schedule every day.

During the fights against opponents inside the night cell tower, I improved my skills as well. All of my skill, including attack, defense, and soul techniques, showed improvement.

To my surprise, the next battle date did not arrive. The injured Red Mark Warriors had plenty of recovery time.

Those with mild injuries had recovered as well. Those who survived the battlefield returned to the training camps once more. They had already overcome their fear.

They understood the reality and focused on improving their strength. But they didn’t know the higher-ups had changed the rules.

They were not going to face the enemies next time. Zack Lockwood was going to face the enemies alone. Council Elder Freya had shared this information with the other Council Elders.

They, too, were shocked. They didn’t expect Quasi-God Jane to give an order like this. All of them were relieved, but they were worried about Zack Lockwood as well.

They were not so cruel. They knew that if Zack Lockwood became a Quasi-God in the future, he would be a nightmare for the foreign creatures.

The other Red Mark Warriors had little chance of becoming Quasi-Gods. From the rate of progress Zack Lockwood had shown, they could confirm that he would become a Quasi-God in the future.

Elder Freya noticed the expressions of the others, including those of the Giant Tower University and Dark Shadow University Elders.

They, too, knew the importance of Zack Lockwood becoming a Quasi-God. If the young man fell before that, it would be a huge loss to them.

On the other hand, the old man from Dark Shadow University was truly worried about Zack Lockwood.

Although there was rivalry between the universities, the young man had grown beyond their control. He possessed the strength to wipe them out. So, it was out of fear that they had a change of heart.

Even the elders of Giant Tower University shared the same thought.

They forgot about the old rivalries. Because of the young man, no other Red Mark Warriors were going to participate on the battlefield.

It was going to save the lives of the warriors from Giant Tower University as well.

Meanwhile, the elders from Star University were equally concerned. The elders from Eclipse and Silver University remained neutral, but they still showed concern on their faces.

The council elders made the decision not to share the news with the Red Mark Warriors, lest they become complacent.

They saw that the Red Mark Warriors were returning to the training camps one by one. It was good news; it showed that they had recovered from their fear.

In order to motivate them, the elders decided to offer Red Mark Resources to warriors who set an overall record or surpassed their own previous records.

The elders made the decision unanimously.

It didn’t take long for them to release the official statement. The notification reached everyone’s device.

When the Red Mark Warriors saw the notification and read it, it brought them joy. Red Mark Resources were hard to come by.

Knowing that the elders were ready to grant the resources if they broke records, the Red Mark Warriors began to take on every challenge in the training camps.

The strong warriors entered the night cell tower to face the trials. They had seen Zack Lockwood set records before.

Though they were not on his level, they wanted to surpass their own personal bests. The entire atmosphere of United City changed.

From its earlier gloom, the atmosphere shifted into an intense mode of training much more quickly.
