Chapter 703: Chapter 4: Where on Earth Have You Brought Me Now?
Sexually assaulted, strangled, and her body was covered in wounds. She likely tried to flee before her death—she even ran out of one of her shoes.
There were also bite marks from an animal.
They did a 3D reconstruction of the bite marks and compared them to the wounds on the previous victim. It was confirmed that the attacks were not from the same wolf-dog.
But there was no doubt it was another wolf, or at least a vicious dog.
As they spoke, the others came out of the police station.
A BAU team isn’t very large. Griffin’s Unit 4, which has the heaviest caseload, only has 14 members.
And that number includes personnel who stay behind at headquarters to provide logistical support.
Since they were responsible for major cases across the entire country, the whole team couldn’t come. Excluding York, five people had come this time.
There was Griffin, Philips, and three others—two men and one woman.
He just memorized their names.
One of the male agents, a tall and sturdy man named Blake, had a build like Zhao Xinna and a very cool demeanor.
Another was named Ian. He was in his thirties or forties, with a calm disposition and a gentle smile.
The remaining female agent was named Juliet. She carried herself with a sharp, heroic air. In his introduction, Griffin mentioned she was an expert in sex crimes.
That made her role similar to El’s from the first few seasons of *Criminal Minds*.
Normally, a profiling team would need an agent who specializes in sex crimes.
Then there was the small-town sheriff, Dean, who had a mustache.
In American TV shows, this type of character is a classic archetype—basically the police chief of a small town.
He was older, around fifty, tall and thin, and filled with curiosity about the arrival of Shen Xin and his group.
And he wasn’t the only one who was curious; so were Blake and the other two agents.
Especially when they saw the numerous dogs and ravens in the truck.
After helping unload the cages, Blake whispered, "Say what you will about everything else, but these police dogs are pretty well-behaved."
He had been watching as they unloaded them; every single dog was lying down quietly, not making a fuss or a sound.
Juliet crossed her arms and quietly asked Griffin if Shen Xin was actually reliable.
Even though bringing Shen Xin in as a consultant had been their superiors’ decision, some team members still had their reservations and feelings about it.
The great and powerful FBI, going to a foreign country to ask for help from one of their criminal investigation experts... it just felt a little embarrassing.
Griffin remained silent, not wanting to pass judgment prematurely.
Philips, however, chimed in, "Trust me, he’s incredible. Or rather, the animals he trains are incredible."
After he spoke, he pointed at Teddy and secretly told the others that the Hunting Falcon alone was worth several million USD.
"Don’t just take my word for it. On the way here, I asked a friend of mine."
Philips had graduated from a prestigious university where he’d befriended a rich kid from Saudi Arabia who was studying abroad, and they had stayed on good terms.
"I asked him, ’Suppose there’s an albino, pure-white Hunting Falcon that’s been trained to understand any command. How much would you be willing to pay for it?’"
"He told me that if I really had one, he’d be willing to trade his custom-built, Middle East-edition Bugatti Veyron for it. He’s still bugging me for pictures right now."
He waved his phone.
The others were stunned, though knowing the hobbies of the Middle Eastern wealthy, they weren’t entirely surprised.
As they were talking, Shen Xin and his two companions opened the cages to let the animals, who had just endured a long journey, stretch their legs.
"Alright, let me say a few words first."
Shen Xin clapped his hands.
Tian Kui barked twice, and the rest of the police dogs immediately sprang into action, each finding a spot to fall into formation.
In front of this flock of Ravens, Teddy lacked Tian Kui’s authority and couldn’t control them.
But Shen Xin was there.
Shen Xin blew two sharp blasts on a bird whistle, and the flock of Ravens, which had been screeching and flying about chaotically, quickly fell into formation in front of him, just like the police dogs.
This level of discipline was enough to make Griffin and the others’ eyes pop out of their heads in shock.
