Chapter : 712

Laxmi threw precise bursts of bright orange fire. She melted the dirt. Zinia stomped her boots. She raised solid gray rock walls to protect the group from flying debris. Luna used massive blasts of wind to push the giant beast off balance. Sayma calculated the exact angle of every single attack. Risa stayed safely in the back, holding her glowing crystal and her brown teddy bear.

The figures typed very fast. They were highly impressed. The 13th Unit used pure environmental tactics. They used teamwork. They did not rely on raw destruction. They fought smarter, not harder.

Then, the lead figure noticed someone else.

He zoomed the magical screen in on the far corner of the laboratory.

Ken Eliot sat on a broken piece of concrete. He wore his baggy navy blue sweatpants. His white dress shirt hung completely untucked over his belt. He slouched his shoulders as far as they could possibly go. He reached into a plastic bag. He pulled out a red gummy worm. He tossed the candy into his mouth. He chewed it slowly.

The three masked figures stopped typing. They stared at the screen. They looked at each other in total confusion.

They did not understand the lazy boy. They ran his face through their vast intelligence database. The database returned zero impressive results. The boy had no noble blood. He had no recorded magical power. He had no military training. He was just a commoner.

The figures could not figure out why Princess Iris allowed a useless servant on a lethal expedition. He was not casting any spells. He was not swinging a sword. He was literally just sitting on a rock and eating candy during a boss fight.

Down on the laboratory floor, Ken swallowed his gummy worm.

He let out a loud, dramatic yawn. He stretched his arms high above his head. He scratched the back of his messy black hair.

Ken suddenly stopped stretching. He blinked his sleepy dark eyes. He felt a very faint tingling sensation on the back of his neck.

Ken possessed god-like, perception. He could feel the flow of magic across the entire continent. He instantly detected the hidden observation deck high above him. He felt the telepathic network. He felt the invisible eyes watching him.

Ken did not look up. He did not point a finger at the ceiling. He did not warn Princess Iris.

He simply slumped his posture even more. He slipped his hands deep into his pockets. He ran the discovery through his flawless anime logic.

"Oh, we have spectators," Ken analyzed casually in his mind. He smiled a goofy, relaxed smile. "This is a very common plot device. The tournament organizers always put hidden cameras in the dungeon. They want to grade the contestants. Or maybe it is a group of mysterious villains in dark cloaks. They always stand on high balconies. They cross their arms and talk about testing the heroes."

Ken pulled out a blue gummy worm.

"They are definitely setting up the plot for the next story arc," Ken reasoned lazily. "They want to observe our power levels. They probably have very edgy names. I will just ignore them. Looking at them triggers dialogue. Dialogue leads to a new side quest. I refuse to accept any more quests today. I just want to finish this level and go home."

Ken popped the blue candy into his mouth. He chewed it happily. He dismissed the mysterious figures. He went back to watching his friends beat up the giant sludge monster. He was a master at avoiding extra work.

---

The mysterious figures stood in the dark observation deck. They continued to watch the battle below. They typed their final notes on the floating magical keyboards.

They recorded a very unique observation about Princess Iris.

The figures noted her immense compassion. They watched her actions in the previous room. She did not slaughter the mutated test subjects. She allowed her healer to stabilize them. She showed mercy to the innocent victims. This was different from the 1st Prince and the 4th Prince. Zeus and Ares simply destroyed everything in their path. Iris actually wanted to save people.

The figures labeled this trait as a potential political weakness. But they also labeled it as a very rare strength. A ruler with a strong heart could inspire incredible loyalty. The 13th Unit was living proof of that loyalty. The girls fought with devotion for their Princess.

The lead figure turned his attention back to the giant monster.

Gargantua was in massive trouble. The Solurius Behemoth thrashed wildly inside the deep glass trench. Its rusted steel boots slipped constantly on the smooth surface. The monster could not find any traction. The toxic green sludge dripped uselessly from its armor.

Naomi dashed forward again. She moved like a fast green blur. She leaped over the edge of the glass trench. She spun her twin silver daggers. The metal glinted brightly. She aimed for the monster's left knee.

She sliced her daggers directly into the exposed, rusted metal joint. Bright orange sparks flew into the air. The blades cut deep into the unprotected hinge.

Gargantua let out a deafening, mechanical screech. The sound echoed through the entire underground facility.

Naomi kicked off the monster's leg. She flipped backward gracefully. She landed safely on the white floor tiles. She skidded slightly but kept her perfect balance. She wiped a single drop of sweat from her forehead. She smiled a very proud, brave smile.

Ken watched her from his broken concrete rock. He nodded in pure approval.

"Naomi has an incredible critical hit rate," Ken praised casually in his mind. He put his hands deep into his sweatpants pockets. "She is definitely the best damage dealer in this party. She exploits the weak points flawlessly. I do not have to press a single button. I love this team. They do all the cardio for me."

A loud cracking noise filled the room.

The damaged left knee joint buckled . The rusted metal snapped under the immense weight of the beast. The monster could no longer support its own massive body.

"It is going down!" Zinia yelled loudly. The strong earth mage pumped her fist in the air.

"Do not let it recover!" Princess Iris commanded smoothly. She pointed her silver rapier forward. "Hit it with everything you have! Keep it grounded!"

The 13th Unit launched a massive, coordinated combo attack. They moved in perfect synchronization.

Luna stepped forward. The gray-haired girl raised both of her hands. She summoned a gigantic, solid column of fast-moving air. The wind roared like a hurricane. The solid wall of wind slammed directly into Gargantua's chest. The blunt force pushed the monster violently backward.

Zinia stomped her tough combat boots. She ripped a massive boulder out of the floorboards. She threw the heavy gray rock through the air. The boulder smashed into the monster's shoulder.

Laxmi punched her open palms together. She unleashed a continuous, massive stream of bright orange fire. The intense heat blasted the monster's face. The fire did not melt the armor, but the kinetic force added to the pressure.
